Chapter 78 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
"Like what you see?" Cindy smirked, looking at the two men that were obviously standing behind me. He was holding my head still, so I couldn't turn around. "W-what are you doing?" I heard Miles ask.
"Is this what you needed my card for?" Mick addressed the question to Winnie.
"I got me ice cream too," Winnie turned his nose up. "And maybe some cleanser."
"You deserve it," Mick said. "She looks amazing."
"In that case, I might have gotten a bathrobe and sheet masks too. And an aloe treatment. My hair is dry," Winnie confessed.
"Damn," Miles murmured. "Wow."
"Looks like a proper Luna now, huh?" Riley said teasingly. I rolled my eyes.
"She looks like the most beautiful woman in the world," Miles answered.
"Without a doubt," Mick said.
Cindy was touching up my lip liner and smirked at me. "We won't be needing any blush, I see."
I wrinkled my nose at Cindy, then stuck out my tongue when he was done. He did the same right back. I was a little nervous that he was done. I have no excuse not to face my mates now.
I slowly turned my head, and there they were, both side by side and gawking at me. Mick reached out and ran his hands down my bare back, and Miles was clenching his hands at his sides like he was wanting to do the same. "What's this dress for?" Mick asked Winnie. "It looks too formal for everyday use."
"It's her Luna ceremony dress, silly," Winnie said in a lighthearted tone. All the while, my heart was dropping. I never agreed to being a Luna, and after what happened this morning, I was more sure I didn't want to be.
Then, the emotion in Miles's eyes caught my attention, and I was frozen for a second by his sharp stare. Even when Mick lightly kissed my shoulder, I somehow still couldn't look away.
"You will be the most gorgeous Luna ever, cara mia," Mick whispered in my ear, making shivers travel down my spine. "Don't you agree, brother?"
Miles held my gaze stoically for a few more seconds, then nodded. "Without a doubt." He took a step forward. "You're flawless, Chloe."
His scent was so potent, and so was Mick's. It was intoxicating and made me feel light-headed. I knew I didn't want to be Luna before, but all I could think about now was how amazing their scents smelled mixed together, and how I just wanted to lather myself in both of them. "Can we talk, Chloe?" Miles asked me gently. That question helped me to break free, and I looked back at Mick worriedly.
Mick nodded. "I think you should."
"Not in that dress!" Winnie yelled. "No ma'am. No sir. It will wrinkle." Winnie himself took me by the hand and pulled me from between the two brothers. Winnie never touches women, and it shocked me and everyone else for a moment. "Change. Now," he instructed, then looked at Cindy, telling him with his eyes to help.
It took Cindy a moment to recover, but then he quickly came to help me from the silky fabric. I put back on my shorts and shirt, then followed Miles out into the hall. I braced myself, expecting to be yelled at again. The last time I faced off with him like this, he was cussing at me, basically calling me an idiot. I knew he was different from Cameron, but that brought back so many bad memories from Fire Moon Pack.
"Chloe," Miles said in a gentle tone.
"Yes?" I stared down at the ground, bracing myself.
His fingers then lifted my chin, and I gasped from the tingles his touch brought. "Chloe," he said again, using my name like a prayer. "I.... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I yelled at you this morning."
My heart that had been hammering in my chest started swelling at his apology. I have no memories of Cameron ever saying sorry to me. This was unexpected. Alphas never humbled themselves to apologize to anyone.
"I was just.... Just so scared. I didn't want you to get hurt, and then you did. Watching you get shot and being helpless to stop it made me mad at myself. Not you. I shouldn't have yelled the way I did. I'm sorry I did that."
I began chewing on my bottom lip, weighing his words.
"Told you," Cortina said. "I told you he was just worried."
She did tell me, and I can see his worry now. I can feel it.
I slowly reached up and grabbed his hand, then held it tightly in mine.
"I'm sorry I worried you. It's.... It's my fault those humans were here. I know it was. I didn't want anyone to get hurt because of me."
"Chloe," Miles took a step closer to me, almost desperately. "It's the pack's job to protect you. It's my job to protect you." When I started to gnaw on my lip, he reached up and freed it with his other hand. "I'm sorry I yelled, but please don't be reckless with your life. Not when it is so precious to me."
