Chapter 77 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
"Work it, girl! Work it!" Cindy smirked, snapping his fingers in the air.
"You look hot. Especially with that nasty bruise all gone. Hot, hot, hot," Riley said with a mischievous grin. He then turned to stare up at Dave. "Doesn't she look hot?"
Dave barely gave me a glance from his phone, then just shrugged. He splayed one of his large hands on Riley's stomach then tugged him closer. "I've seen hotter." Riley looked totally satisfied while everyone else laughed.
I looked down at myself and grimaced. I hate wearing dresses. Loose sundresses or the occasional dress for a night out is fine, but this dress was too formal for my taste. Winnie must have noticed, because he shook his head, then shooed me back to the dressing room. "Not for you. I thought we could have a pretty woman moment, but we're working with the wrong Julia Roberts movie. It's like I'm putting Erin Brockovich in Chanel. I think Gucci is much more your style." "There was that Coach-"
"COACH IS NOT FASHION!" Winnie almost screamed at Riley. Riley held his hands up like he was surrendering, then started to giggle at himself. Riley likes to tease people, and Winnie is one of the easiest to tease. Cindy scoffed. "How is Coach not fashion? I myself carry a tote from-"
"No one cares about your soccer mom bag, Cindy. Quit flapping your lips and unbutton her back. If she snags the fabric with her beastly fingernails, we won't be able to return it."
"Where did you get the money for all these clothes anyway?" I asked, looking at the rack of items I still needed to try on. They all look expensive.
"With this," Winnie whipped a black credit card from his pocket with a devilish grin. I looked closer, squinting to read the tiny words, then gasped when I saw whose it was. "How did you get Mick's credit card?"
"Uh, in his bag. Duh," Winnie rolled his eyes like I was the biggest idiot for asking.
"Did you ask if you could use it?" I said, snatching it back quickly before he could pocket it again.
"Ask?" Winnie scoffed, crossing his arm. "I told him I was upgrading your wardrobe and he was paying. Mickey's rich. Like he would care," Winnie said, examining his nails.
I looked at the rack of clothing again, grimacing. I have more than enough to cover the cost of everything. Maybe I can just wire the money to Mick's account or something. I should have offered my card to Winnie in the first place. Mick shouldn't have to fund this crap. "Girl, he's your mate," Cindy pushed me behind the changing screen. "He can and should buy you nice things. Now, turn around. Hold your hair so I don't catch it."
I stood patiently while Cindy helped me out of one dress and into another. The new one did look less stiff on me, but I still didn't like it. Winnie noticed and shoved me back behind the screen to change. I have gone through half the rack while Riley, Dave, Winnie and Cindy carried on with their little makeover game. Well, I shouldn't include Dave in this. He'd just been staring at his phone since they got back from the mall.
"When are the men getting back?" Riley asked as I got zipped into a fabulous romper jumpsuit-looking thing that I actually loved. It got Winnie's nod of approval, so he must agree with it too.
"They're interrogating that human Lenny kept alive," Dave said.
That was news to me. I've been in the packhouse all day and no one has told me much of anything. Nonna tried to distract me by having me help taste test lunch earlier, but then I just hid in Mick's room until my makeover crew got back. Emily was even with Miles and Mick. I, for whatever reason, was not invited.
It pisses me off, but there is nothing I can do about it. This isn't my pack.
"Yes it is," Cortina argued with me.
"No, it's not. Miles is the Alpha, not Mick. He clearly didn't want me involved in this shit, even though it is my problem."
"He's your mate too, and he is just trying to keep you safe. You scared him."
"Did I scare Cameron every time his Alpha ass would yell at me?"
Cortina sighed, choosing not to answer. She just sauntered off, cursing me under her breath.
"Did you not ask Taylor to join us?" Riley asked as I was trying on another outfit.
"I knocked and she said she would come after a shower." I laughed under my breath. "They, uh, still sounded pretty busy." "Still?! It's been days!" Riley said.
"Lucky bitch," Cindy smirked. "Mr. Gamma was yummy too. Those three will make one hell of a Christmas card."
"We may have pups running around by Christmas at this rate," Riley grinned excitedly. "I've always wanted to be a gay uncle!" "Gross. Babies," Winnie snuffed.
"They're like living baby dolls," Riley said in a tempting voice.
Winnie tilted his face like he was reconsidering if he liked kids, but then quickly shook his head. "Nope. They slobber."
"Oh, please. You have men slobbering all over you most nights of the week," Cindy said to Winnie.
"That's different," Winnie smirked.
I was in the last outfit, a more formal fitting baby blue gown. It reminded me of Mick's and Miles's eyes. It hugged my curves and there was a high slit on the leg. It was gorgeous and I didn't hate it like I would normally. Even the shoes Winnie gave me to put on with it were pretty comfortable for heels. The actual heel was only about three inches. "Wow! That's a keeper," Riley said. "My goodness, I've never seen you look so pretty."
"I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult," I laughed.
"Compliment. Definitely," Riley gushed. "That dress was made for you. Right?" He elbowed Dave, causing Dave to look up. Dave did a double take, and then smiled. "It does look nice. You look like a lady for once."
"Ouch!" I grasped my chest like he just stabbed me there.
"Our porn star Luna is offended," Cindy pouted sarcastically. "Get over here, girl. Let me redo your makeup for the dress."
"I'm not wearing any makeup."
"We can tell," Cindy rolled his eyes. He made me stand while he applied a thin layer of foundation and some powder, then worked diligently on getting my eyes just right. Winnie yelled not to let me wrinkle the dress, so standing was my only option. As he was finishing up my lips, a knock sounded at the door. "If that's Nonna, I'm not here," Winnie hissed, sliding behind the changing screen.
"Relax. It's probably Taylor," I said as Dave got up to answer it. I focused on being still again when Cindy cursed at me for messing up my bottom lip, so I didn't see whoever it was walking in. I was all of a sudden hit by the scent of spicy musk and vanilla bourbon, and knew it wasn't Taylor.
