Chapter 121 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
"What do you mean?" Beau looked confused. I had all eyes on me, and by Lenny's slight nod, I could tell I was coming to the same conclusion as him. "If she was fully mated to her Alpha, she wouldn't have been able to use you three and Boyd the way she was. She would have had no enjoyment in it." "But she was mated." Alexi looked at me like I was crazy. "We all saw them. They marked each other in front of the entire pack."
"A marking doesn't form a full bond. Not when another has already been formed between wolves on a spiritual level, or if their emotions connecting a fated pair are strong enough." I looked at Mick. "You need the spiritual bond and the connection to fully become mates. I think that's how Chloe was able to take Rome and give him to you. Her spiritual bond with Rome was so strong, even though her emotional one with her ex was nonexistent."
"Is that why Chloe never had any problems sleeping with others?" Darren asked. "I didn't think it was possible when she first asked to get revenge, but she never had issues."
"Not that I want to discuss my mate sleeping with others, but yeah. It's not common because the fate bond is supposed to overcome everything, but when there isn't a real connection there, it's likely for the bond to be weak enough to cause problems in the mating." "That Alpha wasn't her fated mate, but claimed her after she slept with hers and didn't formally reject him," Lenny said. "I think Darren could be right. Boyd being taken could have nothing directly to do with Chloe at all."
Beau, Alexi and Jamie were exchanging looks like they were still unsure.
"Regardless, Boyd is still one of ours," Mick said, staring straight at Beau. "We are going to bring him back here where he belongs."
"Where he belongs?" Beau raised an eyebrow. "We aren't members of this pack, Mick. None of us are."
"Maybe you should be," Mick challenged. He looked back at me, and after a long few seconds, and an understanding passing between us, I nodded. Mick was right. My fight isn't with Boyd, and these people are Mick's family. They are Chloe's family. That makes them, by extension, my family too.
"Are you asking us to join the pack?" Alexi's eyes grew hard, like he was having a hard time believing it. He looked at me. They all did. They wanted my final say-so. They knew where Mick stood. It was me and my outburst earlier making them unsure.
"Mick is right. You are all family. Chloe's, Mick's, Rodger's, and that means you are mine as well. Darren is already stuck here thanks to his misfortune of having my Gamma for a mate."
"Hey!" Billy whined, earning a few chuckles. Darren leaned over to him and whispered something in his ear that had him turning red seconds later.
"I think it is time we made things official, and you joined Setting Sun Pack for good," I gave each of them a pointed look.
"Even us?" Riley asked.
I nodded. "Even you."
"And Boyd?" Winnie asked, still not trusting me.
It took me a few seconds to nod in agreement. "Boyd will be joining the pack too, after we get him back."
Winnie lifted his chin, his tail flicking back and forth wildly, still looking like he didn't trust me.
Everyone was looking around the room, eyes unsure. These people left their packs for a variety of reasons, and I know it would be taking a leap of faith to join another. With things unsure with Boyd right now, that was making half of them even more uncertain about me.
Cindy suddenly coughed loudly, standing to his feet. "I, for one, like it here. The humidity is good for my skin, and, of course, I can't leave my little Luna behind to fend for herself." He elbowed Winnie. "Can you imagine what her wardrobe would look like without us? She's a Luna now. She needs all the help she can get. She can't even properly wing her eyeliner!"
Winnie's expression softened, and his tail twitched less and less until it went completely still.
"I like it here too," Lenny shrugged. "Kai and I stay where Rodger is, so we're in."
Kai nodded in agreement.
"What do you think, papa bear?" Riley leaned over and patted Dave's chest.
Dave shrugged. "It's a bit hot for my taste, but the AC works. I'll do whatever you wish to do."
The corner of Riley's lips lifted. "It's no hotter here than in California."
"No," Dave huffed humorously. "It's not."
"You're staying here, you puss," Winnie snapped at Riley. "You're not leaving me with all these dogs by myself."
"You like dogs," Riley smirked.
"You're staying here!" Winnie whined, and Riley held his hands up with a wild grin, giving in to Winnie's mild tantrum.
"I guess we're in too," Riley looked back at his mate, and Dave smiled crookedly, amused by Riley's ability to rile up Winnie.
"I'm on the fence," Darren said, sighing dramatically. "So much misfortune befell upon me in this pack."
"Hey, you horse-dick jerk-wad," Billy growled.
"I'm just kidding," Billy leaned in and slapped Billy's thigh. "I'm all kinds of in," he said, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Gross," Mick snickered. "Do you know where his ass has been?"
"I know more about his ass than you ever could," Darren said, looking all kinds of smug.
It was on Beau, Alexi and Jamie now. They were looking at each other, some form of silent communication passing between them.
"It's nice being a part of a pack again," Alexi said. "My wolf misses the community."
"Mine too," Beau admitted.
Jamie sighed, looking up at Mick. "I'll join under one condition."
"You better not say shit about my Nonna," Mick growled.
The corner of Jamie's lips curled up. "It's a deal breaker, man."
"I'm going to break your fucking neck if you don't leave my Nonna alone."
"You can't stop love," Jamie crossed his arms.
"Deals off. You're not welcome here anymore." Mick was shaking, ready to fight.
"Hey Jamie," Beau smirked. "It would be a lot easier to stalk Nonna if you were a part of the mind link."
"Oh, you're right," Jamie's eyes lit up. "I'm in."
"You're not in," Mick growled.
"Oh, I'm going to get all up in something, sooner or later."
I gagged, praying he was just joking to get at my brother.
Just then, Emily walked in the room and leaned over Dez's shoulder, whispering something in his ear. They both looked at me and Mick, and I was suddenly tense, fearing bad news. "What? What is it?" I demanded.
Emily looked at her mate, who nodded at her. She then looked back at me. "It's Chloe. The Luna's awake."
