I turned around for a second to see a shadow that had sped by my left side all of a sudden.

That certainly couldn’t be a rogue with how fast it was. I swallowed a lump of saliva but didn’t keep running until I felt a strong arm pull me completely into the darkness.

AMELIA:

I was extremely worried about Clara as she was nowhere to be found. I had no idea what was wrong with Dexter or why he would agree to do such a thing knowing fully well that Clara and Tyson were together.

It was late already but yet Clara was nowhere in the mansion. After waiting outside for about 30 minutes, I decided to go back in and talk to Dexter instead.

I heard straight for the room and found Dexter seated on the bed with some paper in his eyes,

"What is going on?"

As soon as he noticed my presence, he raised his gaze at me and picked up the papers on the bed,

"I really think I need an explanation for all of this, Dexter. What is going on? Is there something you aren’t telling me about the attack? They are just rogues and I’m certain the pack can handle it on their own."

"Father thinks they’re after something really important."

"And what’s that?"

"I have no idea. Whatever it is, I know it isn’t good."

I heaved deeply and took my seat close to him.

"What about Clara? You really can’t do that to her, Dexter." I muttered, and he suddenly went silent. It was unlike Dexter to agree to what his father had said earlier because there was always a dispute between them,

"I won’t." He responded a few seconds afterward and I arched my brows,

"Really?" I muttered and he nodded his head. I let out a deep sigh of relief staring at Dexter, but then he pulled me closer to his body,

"I need this, let’s stay like this for as long as possible, Amelia." He uttered. I raised my hands to his hair and gently began rubbing it.

The next morning, just as usual, Dexter was gone. I knew his constant leaving before I woke had something to do with the attacks and I couldn’t blame him,

He was trying his best to prove to his father that he was capable of handling the attack without any help from stronger packs out there,

If more than anything, I was super proud Dexter
