Chapter 952
However, Larissa was called back into Lewis' office once again. What surprised her was that Gary was there too, and he looked just as grim as Lewis. This weird atmosphere made Larissa nervous. She carefully closed the door but she did not move her hand away from the door handle.
"What's... wrong with you two?"
She looked at both men very nervously-the moment there was something, she would totally run away without looking back.
"Relax, we're not getting you to go on blind dates," Lewis spoke.
Larissa sighed in relief. She went over to sit next to Gary and asked, "So, something's up with the company again?"
"I just got a call..." Lewis glanced at Larissa. "It's that friend from Moorewell who called in the morning. He said that Judy got fired because she had completed the mission that Moorewell had given her." "Mission? What mission?" Larissa did not understand. "Her mission was already completed, so why was she still fired by Moorewell?"
"Reportedly, she has a spy in the company. They can know first hand about the latest developments from us-like our joint venture project with Thompson Medical."
Larissa came to a realization. "Judy is part of the information leak?"
"You could say that." Lewis nodded. "Moorewell fired her to put some distance between them and her. Judy received a huge amount of hush money so that she wouldn't speak of this randomly in public. But what I really care about is her motive in calling you."
Judy was always an enemy of Larissa, and Judy getting fired by Blue Star was related to Larissa too. Even if she was really out of options, she would not ask Larissa for help-Judy had a better relationship with Marilyn. Besides, it was not like Judy was really out of options.
Since Moorewell was willing to pay Judy hush money, they would definitely pay for her compensation as well. Otherwise, if Judy betrayed them, Moorewell's loss would only be greater.
"She would not call you without reason." Lewis' eyes narrowed. "You must be careful. I keep having this feeling that something's going to happen."
Gary continued where Lewis left off. "From today on, Lewis will always be with you. If you don't want to go to his place. He will go to your place instead." There was no problem if Lewis went to Larissa's place. Kevan and Aster were not there, so there wasn't much of an impact on her life. However-
"Wendy's there too." Larissa looked at Lewis. "Please keep that in mind. Don't get too comfortable."
Lewis glared at her. "Since when was I ever comfortable?"
Well, that was true. This matter was decided.
After work, Marilyn wanted to go window shopping with Larissa.
"Sorry." Larissa pointed at her laptop and smiled painfully. "I haven't finished working."
"How come you and both Mr. Logans are so busy now?" Marilyn asked curiously. Suddenly, her face changed as she whispered, "Could it be... our company's doing really bad right now?"
Blue Star's recent situation was not a secret in the company. The profits had to be made public every month, and the laying off of employees was in progress too.
"Yeah, pretty much." Larissa closed the chat she had open with Sharon to conceal the fact that Sharon had introduced several more major clients to her.
"Ah..." Marilyn did not seem surprised. "Why don't I go back and work overtime too?" She asked Larissa with uncertainty. "If I let both Mr. Logans see how hardworking I am, perhaps they won't fire me, right?"
