Submitting To My Ex-Wife by Veromca Luke (Sigmund Moolery )

Chapter 33

Chapter 33

“Ms. Adams was specially transferred here. She has worked somewhere else before and has years of experience. You can learn from her. Ms. Adams will guide our cooperation with Starry Group. Everybody should follow her arrangements.”

Betty nodded and said, “If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask me.”

The meeting ended quickly. After all, its primary purpose was to introduce Betty. After it ended, Betty asked a few people from the Starry Group collaboration project to stay.

“I have already seen the manuscripts given by the Starry Group. Regarding this project, I want to say that the company has entrusted it to you because they believe in you. So, I hope we can work together and successfully complete this project.”

After Betty finished speaking, the people present applauded.

Betty walked over to Becky and exclaimed as she looked at the manuscript Becky had

drawn.

“Oh my, why does your manuscript look like this?”

Her voice attracted everyone’s attention. Those who had seen Becky’s manuscript didn’t speak but were also curious.

What was Becky thinking when she drew it like that? Was it because she couldn’t do it, or was she pretending?

“Is this your usual style?”

Seeing that Becky remained silent, Betty pretended to be understanding and helped her voice her thoughts.

“Is it very difficult to understand?” After a moment of distress, Becky nodded thoughtfully, seemingly having thought of something. “Oh, I almost forgot. This is my manuscript, so it’s normal if you can’t understand.”

The implication was that Betty was such an interfering person. Also, these words contained an undertone that if Betty couldn’t understand, it meant she was incapable.

There was no way Betty couldn’t understand what Becky was implying, but she suppressed her anger and smiled at Becky.

“Oh, perhaps,” Betty said under her breath. “By the way, your name is Becky, right?”

Before Becky could answer, Betty continued speaking on her own.

“What a coincidence! My name is Betty. Our names sound quite similar to each other.”

Soon, Betty changed the tone of her voice, and her gaze toward Becky became sharp. Her smile faded, replaced by a cold expression. “It seems we need to be more careful. If someone mistakes you for me, I’ll be very embarrassed.”

Becky understood the implication behind Betty’s words.

There was a hidden meaning in it.

Becky smiled nonchalantly. She tilted her head to the side, her voice dripping with confidence. “Yeah, you’re right, Ms. Adams. But you know what? I’m a laid–back person. If someone mistakes me for you, I’ll let him know.”

Betty smiled. “You are really a smart girl.” Her voice was laced with a hint of mockery. “Since we have such a connection, why don’t you take charge of the design proposal?”

Betty’s words caused a collective gasp among everyone present, including Gerard. Their faces showed shock and disbelief.

Usually, design proposals like this should be done by the most experienced person. However, Becky was just an intern who had been here for several days. Wasn’t it too difficult for her to complete such a task? The confusion and doubt were evident on their faces.

While Gerard was wondering whether to help Becky or not, Betty continued, “I just saw your previous manuscripts, and I think you are indeed a very creative person. I have also heard about your achievements. If you want to stop others from gossiping, show them. what you got. I believe you can do it, and I look forward to seeing you shut them up with your abilities.”

Betty kept praising and didn’t give Becky a chance to speak, cutting off all her options. In

her opinion, Becky, a fallen heiress of a wealthy family, only got the opportunity to enter the company through connections with Sigmund.

How could such a woman be qualified to accompany Sigmund?.

“I’m the only one in this world who can become Sigmund’s wife!” Betty said inwardly.

Are you really going to entrust this to me?” When Becky heard the words, she couldn’t help but swallow nervously, acting as if she wasn’t capable.

Seeing Becky like this, Betty felt even more pleased. Her lips curled into a satisfied smile. She couldn’t wait to see her embarrassed.

“Of course, I believe in you.” Betty’s voice was filled with faux encouragement. “Since you’re already in this project, you should showcase all your talents and advantages. Everyone who can enter this company is an elite, including you.”

Becky couldn’t refuse anymore and hesitated for a while before reluctantly nodding.

“Alright.”

Betty immediately announced, “That’s settled then. Do what you need to do, guys. The meeting is over.”

After the meeting, Betty sat in her chair and observed every move Becky made. Her eyes followed Becky’s every step, her gaze scrutinizing. And every time she approached’Becky, she could see Becky’s empty desktop.

Betty had a smug smile on her face. This time, she planned to get rid of Becky once and for all.

After Betty left, Becky’s desktop returned to normal. The various types of crystals were neatly organized with detailed notes about their uses and meanings.

As the end of the workday approached, Betty’s focus was no longer on work but on Sigmund.

Therefore, she disappeared from her department when she finished her work.

Becky got off work as well. Just as she stepped out of the office, a figure appeared before

her.

“Becky, want to grab a meal together later? It’s been a while since we last saw each other.”
