Still alive?

Chapter 13

This day began as boring as any other Mia’s student days. Morning... Bed… Nothing new.

Mia tried to get up, but her legs completely disobeyed her. Seemed like they didn’t want to go to the university, as well. And yet, she had to get up. Because she didn’t want to be weak. Mia went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror:

“Oh no, look terrible! What a mess is on my head? It’s like some raven’s nest. I need urgently whip myself into shape.”

Having tinkered at her hair, Mia finally crawled out of the bathroom and headed for the kitchen. In the student dormitory, it was shared, and another student, Kate, had already prepared her breakfast. The smell was gorgeous. The scent of vanilla pancakes with strawberry jam was in the air. It made Mia’s mouth water. She became very hungry, after being busy with her hairstyle.

“Good morning,” Mia said.

“Good morning. Help yourself, Mia,” Kate kindly handed her a plate with a pancake. »

“Thank you so much! Your pancakes are always awesome!”

“Thank you, Mia. Take a couple more.”

After breakfast, Mia went into her room. Closing the door, she flopped down on her bed again. A bunch of thoughts swarmed in her head. She decided not to dig into them too much and opened the closet to find an outfit for today. “Not much,” flashed through her mind. She pulled out blue jeans and a blouse.

After dressing up, Mia grabbed her bag and headed for the exit. Wearing gym shoes, she closed the door, quickly went out and headed toward the university.

“Nice. There’s still a lot of time before the lecture, and what should I do now?” Mia thought when she entered the university building and saw the schedule. She decided to take a walk in the nearest park, took out a player and turned on the music.

On the way, Mia kept replaying her conversation with Max in her head.

When she went to the park, she was surprised. There was no one there. Although, it is quite naturally, if you think about it - who will walk in the park at such an early time of the day? She sat on one of the benches. Mia did not like to spend time in a dorm as it was almost impossible to cloister - a shared kitchen, a shared toilet, a shared shower. She felt that there was no one to support her in this Big City. She had no relatives here, she was alone.

Mia read a bit and headed back to the university. Yes, she was a nerd. With her strict parents, she couldn’t turn out to be someone else. When she got a score below A, a huge scandal would happen in her family. Mia found it easier to memorize than to listen to the claims from her parents.

In the university hall, one girl gave Mai such an evil look that she immediately got goosebumps on her back.

“Nice blouse” the student said and smirked.

Mia blushed. She took all the necessary textbooks as quickly as possible and almost ran to the classroom.

“Calm down,” she thought to herself, and sighed. She tried to somehow distract herself as before a test. Taking out a pen and notebook, Mia began to carry out test tasks.

... Then there were other lectures and seminars. Mia returned to her dorm room only in the evening, and very tired. She fell asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow.

And so, one of her many ordinary student days passed...
