Chapter The Battle of

The City Guard had been deployed to the artificial sky control platform, as Dex, Syl, Wes, Ashe and Anya made their way there via airship. Down in the city below, Ariel and Lumina arrived at the cell that Roisin was being kept at.

As the car came screeching to a halt, several vehicles came to a stop at either end of the small dark street.

"What now?" Ariel asked, panicking.

"Go to Roisin, I'll deal with these" Lumina nodded, as she nudged Ariel towards the door, as Ariel stepped forward, the street erupted in gunfire, Ariel quickly burst her way into the old shop that Roisin was being kept prisoner in. When she arrived, Roisin looked up at her.

"Ariel?" She said, with a raised eyebrow.

"We're here to get you out of here, Ros" Ariel nodded.

"These bindings, I can't break them" Roisin frowned as she tugged at the bindings that held her to the wall. Ariel nodded and knelt down as gunshots echoed through the empty shop. "Who is out there?" Roisin asked.

"Lumina, she's fighting off the cult" Ariel explained, as she drew a blade from her pocket and tried to cut the binds, but the blade snapped. "Damn it!" She grunted.

"No luck?" Roisin asked. Ariel frowned and shook her head, before pausing for thought, she summoned her Celestial Rapier, and tried again to cut the bindings.

"Still won't work" Ariel shrugged.

"Just leave me here..." Roisin sighed, as an explosion went off outside.

"That's not the Roisin I know" Ariel said as she patted Roisin's shoulder.

"I don't want to see you get hurt, I can take care of myself... please" Roisin pleaded, but before Ariel could respond, they both noticed that it had gone silent outside.

"Did Lumina kill them all?" Roisin asked, quietly, Ariel shrugged and turned to the door as she heard footsteps approach. The shop door creaked open, and Keegan walked inside.

"Keegan?!" Ariel and Roisin gasped.

"I heard you were in trouble..." Keegan smiled softly, as he knelt down beside Roisin.

"How did you get out of the lab?" Roisin asked.

"Dex let me out, said he trusted me enough" Keegan smiled. Ariel looked around.

"Where's Lumina?" She asked. Keegan looked at Ariel and frowned.

"She headed off to help the others" Keegan sighed. "We took care of the henchmen attacking this place for now" He added.

"Oh, right" Ariel nodded.

"Roisin, I'm gonna need you to pull on three" Keegan instructed, Roisin nodded and Keegan began to count to three, when the time was right, they both pulled against the restraints, and they snapped.

"Eat that, fate" Roisin joked as she got to her feet and rubbed her wrists.

"Uh... fate?" Keegan asked, as he scratched his head.

"Yeah, that's what the crazy cult woman said the bindings were made from" Roisin explained.

"Interesting..." Keegan pondered.

"We should catch up with the others" Ariel interrupted.

"The others? What's going on?" Roisin asked.

"The cult are planning on bringing down the fake sky, plunging the city back into darkness" Ariel explained.

"Who even are these cultists?" Keegan asked.

"They worship Andre Spectra" Roisin replied.

"The Abysial Academy Headteacher who went missing?" Keegan asked.

"Sort of, you might know them better as Abyssia though" Roisin revealed, as the three of them headed outside.

"Huh..." Keegan pondered.

As they walked from under the overhead motorway, they looked up at the artificial sky, to see a crowd of airships high above the city, and what looked like a shoot-out. The sky itself was glitching, rapidly switching from night to day.

"Is... Dex up there?" Roisin worried. Keegan and Ariel grabbed Roisin's hands.

"He is, but he is with the others, don't worry, he'll be safe" Ariel nodded.

The three of them headed over to one of the cultist's vehicles, and made their way to the airship docks. Ariel drove, while Roisin spent the journey looking up at the battle raging on high. Praying that her brother and love would be safe. Keegan sat back, finally resolving to be the brother he was destined to be.
