Rise of The Fallen

That one little word seemed to make my mind fog over as its meaning weighed upon my mind as I thought back to all our previous encounters before now.

Koras people seem to have many phrases for 'mating' but the way she explained it, her favorite one seems to be this 'phack' that she says so often. Learning the meaning of this word has left my mind in shambles because despite the new information, I only have more questions.

She seems to say it quite often and it's started making me wonder if this entire time I've been oblivious to her true needs and desires. She has no claims with any other male and I have been the only one around her for the many days we've been together so she must be acknowledging  me…it's the only thing that makes sense.

In her tongue 'phack' means mate. So each time she stumbles, falls, or hurts herself she calls out "mate." This entire time she's been asking for my assistance, asking for my care and I had no clue.

 Has she truly considered me as her mate before I had ever even given her an offering? Or is there some other meaning behind that word, humans are confusing in that way.  She has only given me a brief explanation of the word so I am conflicted on what to think and what to do.

If I have been blindly disregarding her claim and her needs then surely she would be far more upset with me by now? I have to make sure. I have to know what it is kora needs of me, because now I know I need her. I shall not fail this time.

As Kora stumbles and falls my heart skipped a beat from the words that escaped her lips and my inner turmoil only increases. 

My senses feel sharper than ever and I know for sure that I did not mishear those words. If the word's meaning is true then she said 'Mate me'.

My tail flicked around wildly behind me as I quickly moved to stand before her and help her back to her feet. Those two little words…they were driving me crazy, I need to know, I need to make sure.

"You said it again... You said 'phack me'."

Her hazel eyes met my own as her face that was twisted in annoyance and discomfort turned to confusion. "Yeahhh?" 

She drew out the confirmation in an unnatural way, humans seem to do these things quite often.

Refocusing my attention to the female before me I stepped closer. Keeping hold of her frail limb to make sure she would not fall again. Her eyes widened a bit as she turned her face up to look at me.

"Was that a request?"

She blinked a few times, her lips parting before she spoke up again, her voice small, much like herself. "What?"

"You told me what the meaning of the word 'phack' is…you just said 'mate me'. I need to know if that is what you meant if you truly want that."

She seemed stunned, unable to speak, and my uncertainty only grew more. She accepted my offering but there's still the issue of her finding my body repulsive. If I can't show her my worth, this could be the one chance I have to show her that I can make her happy. keep her satisfied. 

"I-i…" Kora suttered, as her cheeks flushed red.

I quickly cut in, speaking up once again

 "I understand you may not find me attractive, I bear many scars across my body and my shaft seems repulsive but I can still satisfy your needs if you give me the chance to prove myself…"

"What?! I-no! It's not that! I'm not repulsed by you! You're very attractive. I just- I didn't intend to say that it was a spur of the moment thing! A slip of the tongue…

"So you do not wish to mate?" Her eyes quickly shied away from my own. 

"I don't even know how you could think about such a thing. we've hardly been together that long and barely know anything about one another-"

"I know you enjoy the taste of fruit and fresh meat, I know you are easily flustered when you deal with something challenging. Your face changes color and you glare at the object causing you issue, whether it be a root you've stumbled upon or your inability to properly weave a basket… you huff and mumble angrily to yourself but you never give up. " She stopped, shutting her mouth to look at me surprised as I continued. 

"I know you are clumsy and often get lost in thought while traveling. You do not like the silence and always seek to talk whenever we can, even if it's about strange topics. You're always eager to learn and try new things when you are shown something unfamiliar. 

 I know that you have been through many struggles out here on your own yet you still continue to fight. You've never shown fear and always try to find a way to overcome challenges whether they be big or small. 

You've persevered against many things that would have killed most others. I know that you have a past that haunts you and you often look to the stars while we are out at night, only to turn your head away in shame. I am unsure of the reason for it but I feel I still understand it, since you once called the stars your home…

You are determined, curious, brave, strong. I know many things about you kora…"

She stared at me with an unreadable expression as unknown thoughts ravaged her mind. Her lips pressed into a thin line before she spoke up, quietly. "I don't think I'm ready to go that far El…"

"We need not go anywhere to do so, and even if you are not in heat I'm still willing to do anything to keep you happy." I grabbed both her shoulders gently in reassurance. 

 she grabbed my wrists and shook her head as her face fell. "No not that's not what I meant. What I mean is, emotionally I don't think I'm prepared to do that with you. The last person I was with, he…he hurt me and I'm still trying to come to terms with it. besides, im human dont you think your people might get upset?"

This information shocked me. She was hurt by another male? My tail lashed out cutting across the ground behind me. I could feel my anger rising at the thought of it. Who could hurt someone as strong as Kora? Is that why she was upset this morning? Is that why she doubts me? Is that why she was afraid of me?!

"I would never hurt you."

She was silent, looking into my eyes as if to reassure herself that I was truthful. Crouching down onto one knee before her I grabbed her wrist, bringing her small hand to my face to nuzzle it and show my affection without scaring her. "I will kill anything who wishes to harm you, I will hunt down the male who hurt you on your behalf and he will suffer the most gruesome punishment imaginable. And no tribe mate of mine shall ever stop me from staying by your side, I swear on it." 

She smiles before scruffling my hair between my horns playfully. "Your a real sweet talker aren't you, whether it be unfortunate or not the one who hurt me is already gone. I just need a bit more time to recover so for now let's hold off on the whole zex thing okay?" 

I sat there unsure what it means to be a 'sweet talker' but it did not matter as long as Kora does not feel disgusted by me. I will wait a thousand sols for her if she so desires. "If that is what you wish. If there is ever any problems or if you require anything, you need only tell me." 

Releasing her arms I stood back up and was startled as Kora suddenly latched onto me, wrapping her arms around my torso. I didn't know how to react as she held on, hiding her face in my chest. Wrapping my arms around her tentively I held her close and my tail coiled around her legs. I nuzzle the top of her head in a comforting manner  "Thank you…" she muttered. 

"I've hardly done anything deserving of thanks." 

She chuckled at this before pulling away just slightly to look up at me. "You've done more for me than I deserve." 

Grunting in response I cupped her face with one hand and leaned in so our noses touched. "You shouldn't degrade yourself in such a way, female's are highly sought after among our kind. Without female's we would have nothing, no hope no future… you in particular are worth far more than any other female I've encountered. No other compares to you"

"Now you just sound like a delusional love sick puppy! I seriously am questioning how and why your so into me, it's not like I'm that pretty, surely the girls of your tribe are more attractive and useful than me." 

"I do not understand how I resemble a sick animal pup, I'm fairly healthy. And as for the others wilin my village…" my mind immediately thought of ratha and how she chose another male. "You are far better than them." I spoke the last part quietly. My initial response only seemed to make kora giggle before reaching up to grab my face. 

"It's a meedaphore. A phrase humans use i didnt mean you were actually sick." 

"Mee-da-phore." I sounded out slowly. "Another word I do not know nor understand the meaning of.

"I'm saying your opinion of me is too high. I'm not all that amazing. Im just a puny human girl anything i can do your people could do better. Theres nothing special about me." She fluttered her hands in the air in what I assumed was another one of her human gestures before returning her eyes to my own. 

My tail thumped against the ground as my irritation only grew. How many times has this little female been degrated, to the point she doesn't believe herself worth more than the dirt we walk upon? If the male who hurt her wasn't already dead then I would climb the tallest mountain to reach the stars and drag him down here just  to kill him myself.

"You may not think so, but to me you are the most beautiful and interesting thing I've ever seen in these forests. Your beauty matches that of the seven moons and your preserverance rivals that of one of the greatest xandisian warriors."  Wrapping one arm around her back to pull her against me Icupped the back of her neck with my other hand to angle her head back slightly.

Her face changed color once again as she looked at me ready to open her mouth and argue the facts once more but I didn't give her the chance. Instead of letting her degrade herself again I decided to prove to her that my words were as true as the fates themselves. 

Closing my eyes I crashed my lips against hers in an attempt to recreate the kiss we shared down in the caverns. A muffled sound was practically downed out by the purr that resonated in my chest as I held her close.

 That simple action shared between us down below was filled with so much need that she couldnt possibly deny my words and true feelings for her if I did it again. 

With another shared kiss she will have to see that I mean everything I've said and that she isn't so worthless like she believes herself to be.

It didn't take long for her to return the action by closing her eyes and parting her lips to deepen the kiss with another delightful sound sliding through to my ears. 

Much to my reluctance I cut the kiss short to pull away and look at her face so that I may see her reaction. So that I know she understands how I feel. Her eyes fluttered open and her chest heaved, as her steady heartbeat increased drastically. 

We both stood there frozen for a moment, no words passing between us, not that there needed to be any for either of us to understand one another. It was clear now that we wanted- no we needed, eachother no matter our insecurities or pasts, the fates brought us together for a reason.

Deep down we both know that neither of us would still be here had we never found each other." 

"Elazar…" her hands pressed against my chest but she did not attempt to push me away. 

I leaned in again tilting my head to the side to give her another kiss and she held her breath and closed her eyes waiting for it. But as my lips brushed hers once more I stopped for just a moment to speak up.

"This…" she opened her eyes once again, with a sweet confused look.

"What?" She questioned.

"This, is something only you could ever do… something that no other female would ever surpass you in. Let it be known kora that only can do this, only you know how to kiss."

With her hazel eyes widening in surprise I pressed my lips to hers once more with a growl and she quickly wrapped her arms around my neck with a small moan. Before jumping up to wrap her legs around my waist. 

Within seconds I had her back pinned against a tree, one hand griping her leg the other cupping the back of her head. She gasped with the split second our lips had parted but all other sounds were devoured by me as I invaded her mouth. 

As she ground her hips against me I could feel my erection growing and my body tensed. I quickly broke the kiss worried I was going against her wishes to wait a bit longer before mating, I didn't expect this kiss to stir up my instincts to breed her so much.

 Turning my head down I took a deep breath trying to reel in my instincts and desire to rut. Kora looked at me questioningly as I trailed my hand from the back of her neck down to her other leg to keep her from falling.

"Apologies… I was getting carried away, I wasn't trying to mate with you, we can stop this now if you still aren't ready…"

She squirmed in my hold slightly tightening her arms and legs around me until I returned my gaze to hers. 

"You're right…I'm not ready to mate. 

but I don't think there's anything wrong with a little foreplay."

I stared down at the small female unsure what to say or do. "I do not know-"

"Just shut up and kiss me again."
