Chapter Refusing To Be 200
Chapter 200
Aveline had seen the body of an elderly person who had passed away at home, but it was completely different from the pitiful sight in front of her.
Even though she couldn't make out Sheila's appearance at a glance, Aveline was still so frightened that she couldn't stop retching.
Owen patted her back to comfort her, "Are you okay?"
"Sorry." Aveline apologized guiltily.
"Most people haven't seen a dead body, let alone one that has undergone changes. I understand," Owen reassured her.
"Why aren't you afraid?"
"After seeing a lot, you stop being afraid," Owen's voice was calm, and his deep eyes looked ethereal, "Besides, living people are scarier than dead ones in this world."
"Aveline didn't know what this man had been through. Even though he was only a few years older
than her, he seemed mysterious.
If he hadn't endured a lot of hardships, there was no way he could have such a look in his eyes.
Perhaps she wasn't the only one who had suffered in this world. Overcoming her inner fear, Aveline turned on the flashlight.
"I'll shine the light for you, hurry and take a look."
"Mm," Owen instructed calmly, "Close your eyes, leave the rest to me."
To not delay the process, Aveline quickly closed her eyes..
There was an extra hand on her wrist, and Owen's voice sounded in her ear, "Pardon me."
He held her wrist and walked to the front of the body. In the cold room, his hand felt unusually
warm.

Aveline heard rustling sounds again, probably Owen taking off the body's pants. Fortunately, the pants from the mental hospital were quite loose, so he manage
without much effort.
to take them off
Even though she couldn't see, Aveline could still judge from the sound how far he had progressed.
She held the flashlight high.
"It's done." Owen reminded, "Don't open your eyes, I'll put the body back."
Aveline couldn't wait to ask, "How is it?"
"Her cervix is torn."
"Normally, the cervix of someone who hasn't given birth is round, so she did have a child after all."
"Yes."
Owen took Aveline away, paid for Sheila's funeral, and made sure she was properly buried.
"It's been delayed for so long, but she can finally rest in peace. Ultimately, it's my fault that she died. If it weren't for me, maybe she wouldn't have died so soon."
Owen shook his head. "Not necessarily. I found out that she was injected with a banned drug before. she died, which caused her mental confusion. Even without you, she wouldn't have lived much
longer."
"She said someone took her child. Who could that person be? Could her parents have taken the child
abroad?"
"We can't draw conclusions yet, but we've gathered a lot of clues today. Leave the rest to me, I'll take you back first. Oh right."
Owen took out a cellphone from his pocket. "Use this phone to contact me in the future."
She remembered that Alexander could easily check her communication records, and she would be discovered if she frequently contacted Owen.
"Thank you."

"Being able to help the people on the island is the best reward for me."
Aveline returned to the secret room and left with the two children.
Jack's face was pale, showing that he had been quite frightened.
On the other hand, Tyler, who was delicate, remained calm. When they came out,
he was even supporting Jack, "It's all fake, do you really have to be so scared that you jump into the arms of an
NPC2"
Thinking of this scene, Aveline couldn't help but find it funny, "I didn't expect Jack to be so timid?"
"Sis Aveline, you didn't see it. Jack just made a whimpering sound from being scared, it was so
funny."
"Shut up, you!"
The two of them playfully wrestled, and their cheerful atmosphere diluted the sadness of Sheila's
death.
A car stopped on the side of the road, and the window rolled down to reveal Alexander's cold face,
"Get in."
