Chapter 9

Raquel’s POV

“Alden Alec called out

“Aiden, where are you?” I asked, walking around and checking all corners with worry painted all over my face

After the car crash, we called an ambulance to get the man who was hit by the car to the hospital. And now, we were in search of Aiden. He had just disappeared out of the blue and I was beginning to regret listening to their request

We all searched, Me and Alec, Leo and Cade, together with the police officers I had called

“I don’t see him anywhere Alec said

“Widen” Oh my poor baby” 1 began to sob

This was just my first day back here and things had already started falling out of place. Maybe I should have stayed back, maybe I should have listened to my parents and stayed out of this

“Mom look what I found Aiden’s cheerful voice echoed from behind. I turned around to see him running towards my direction with a smile plastered on his face.

“Oh my goodness! I said in relief and pulled him into a tight embrace when he got closer

“Is everything okay mommy?” He asked, seeming confused by my action

“Whis happened? Where did you run off to?” I questioned

“I went after this” he answered, stretching his hands towards me. Only then did I realize the line fireflies he trapped in a little jar

He explained that, when everyone was busy checking on the crash victim, he picked the little empty jar from the floor and chased after the fireflies

“Oh my fucking God!” I exclaimed, slamming my palm on my forehead.

“Do you know you almost gave a heart attack? Do you know how worried I wast Don’t you ever try that again. Evert” I scolded

He pouted and apologized

“I’m sorry Mommy. The were fascinating and I couldn’t help but go after them, I didn’t mean to get you worried”

“For a moment, I thought I would never see you again, do you know how that would make me feel! I would go nuts” I continued and he hugged me

“I’m really sorry” I sighed

“Don’t be too hard on the little boy, he was only trying to have fun. Plus, he can’t get lost here, my city is very safe and secure” Leo chirped in. I didn’t bother to respond. I held them both in each of my hands, and walked away, Leo didn’t try to stop me and I was grateful for that

When we got back to the guest in, the old lady tried to say something, but I sped past her

I wasn’t ready for any talks or shit

I got to our room and we all changed into our pajamas, then I tucked the kids in bed, placed a kiss on both their foreheads, switched off the lights and moved to close the window when I caught sight of a man lingering down there. My heart jumped, but when I looked closer, I saw that it was

“Yeah. Just wanted to make sure they were alright” he answered.

“Right— Code answered sarcastically and Leo rolled his eyes- That is called stalking, because I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t have wanted you to know she was residing here” he continued, stating the obvious and Leo snorted

“This is my town Cade, no one can refuse to tell or show me where they live“Typical Leo

He looked up at my window, and I rushed to the side immediately, preventing him from catching sight of me

They kept arguing and walked away with Leo trying to prove that he could do whatever he wanted, including invading other people’s privacy, while Cade tried to prove otherwise

I heaved a deep sigh, closed the window and layed on the couch, and drified off into a peaceful slumber

I was awoken by the loud dispare ensuing downstairs. It was so early in the morning

“What could be the cause of such noise by this time of the day?” I muttered, rising to my feet and walked downstairs

“What the hell?” To say I was shocked by what I saw, is an understatement. I had to stop on the second to the last staircase, while dumbstruck.

Leo was there, demanding that the old lady and her husband called for my attention

“Tam your Alpha and you will do as I have said. Go in there and tell your guest that I need her to get down here he ordered

“With all due respect Alpha Leo, we can’t let you in. This establishment….

“Leo? What are you doing here?” I asked, cutting the old man of

“Oh great she’s here. Pack your stud and get dressed, we’re leaving he instructed and I creased my brows

“Excuse me?”

I didn’t even know what else to say or do, other than stare in astonishment

“Excuse Us” He said to the old couple and they left immediately, it was obvious that his anger was slowly rising. One could tell from the way his voice became low and cold

“The kids, they’re mine” he suddenly said. My heart beat paced up and fear was evident in my eyes, I didn’t want him to find out the kids were his. He would take them away from me

“No they’re not” I answered abruptly

“Yes they are” he said slowly while walking towards me and locking eye contact

“They are mine” he repeated, this time, he was already so close that I could feel his hot breath on my neck

“I can hear your heartbeat rising, I can see it in your eyes he informed with a smile playing on his lips

“You know, I actually believed you last night at the coffee shop, but when I got home, I remembered it was you we’re talking about You. Raquel Silverno. There’s no way you could have gotten in bed with someone else, and give birth to kids of six years old” he continued

I raised my chin and faced him challengely, I wouldn’t let his intimidating stare and aura detair me

“What makes you so sure that I didn’t meet anyone else after you?” I asked, trying to sound convincing

“Because I know you Raquel. I know you very well, more than you think I do” he said, brushing a strand of my hair backwards.

“Now, gather your things. I don’t have all day;
