Chapter 6

Eros POV

The walk back to the pack house was rough, my thoughts kept going back to what Ares had said about going to the ball and how strongly he felt that our mate would be there as well.

'He's right though replies Deimos, my wolf who had been on edge lately especially after our last dream of the girl.

'But what if he's wrong?' I ask knowing there could be a slim chance that we could go home empty handed once more just like we had all those other times.

"He's not though, Me and Zeus are confident that OUR mate will be there and when we find her we'll protect her' comes Deimos's confession which shocks me, if only a little. 2 "That confident are we?' I chide, knowing that Deimos only rarely spoke when things were true otherwise he was mostly silent and let his brother handle most of everything else.

'I am' answers Deimos before moving towards the back of my mind which told me this discussion was over at the moment. Sighing I decided to give him space because after all it wasn't like he could just leave me because we were actually one and the same. "Eros?" calls my brother making me halt just short of the pack house.

"Yeah?" I answer back, my eyes now trained on those of my brother.

"Remember, where in this together and together we'll find Our Luna, Our Mate" replies Ares with a small smile before leading us inside.

"I know, thanks bro" is all I say as my feeling of uneasiness had suddenly subsided as if knowing that my brother was both bound and determined to find our mate and that no matter what

happened we would keep looking.

Unfortunately my sense of relief was short lived as it slowly grew into something along the lines. of disgust just as me and Ares slowly entered the pack house only to come face to face with an obnoxious sounding voice, one we had hoped to never hear again. "EROS! ARES! Oh how I missed you" comes the voice of Lily which makes us cringe by the tone, her body moving to embrace us making Deimos growl as well as Zeus for neither of them liked Lily and so didn't like it when she touched us. "L-Lily.... I thought you were still with family" I ask, my shock now pushed aside as I gazed at the

girl before me. Taking that moment to look at her I can't help but shudder, her voice overly obnoxious while the only thing she had going for her was her appearance, her 5'8 slender built frame that lacked depth and muscle, long blonde hair and blue eyes and her D size bust was all that she had going for herself as no one liked hearing her talk.

"I cut the trip short, after all the Mating Ball is in two days and since I've yet to find my mate I thought about going with the both of you" admits Lily as she tries her hardest to flirt which only earns her a growl from Ares.

"No Lily, you won't" replies Ares, an annoyed look on his face.

"And why not? After all we're all mateless" replies Lily who was trying to sound shocked and hurt

all at the same time.

"Because WE are not mateless... Our mate will be at the ball" I tell her before Ares could. "And when we find her she will become OUR Luna not come Chosen".

"WHAT?!" shouts Lily looking appalled by my response as if her tiny bubble had been busted.

"You heard my brother, you'll never be OUR Luna Lily. No matter what you do or how much try it'll never happen" growls Ares his dislike for Lily now fully evident on his face.

"Y-You don't seriously believe that, do you Ares?" whimpers Lily as she tries her hardest to plead with him.

"Oh I do Lily, even Zeus doesn't want you" grunts Ares as he ignores all her attempts to pout.

When her attempts on my brother seemed to fail, did Lily slowly turn to try them on me knowing her tatitics would work and I would show her mercy whereas Ares wouldn't. "EROS..." whines Lily. "You don't honestly believe that do you?".

Sighing I move to turn my attention towards Lily. Lily, Ares is right, you'll never be our mate, our Luna and like Ares said earlier we don't want you not even my own wolf Deimos wants you" I say trying to reason with her.

"Y-Your both.... S-So MEAN" screams Lily as if trying to throw a tantrum would make us change

our minds.

"No where not" I tell her, annoyed by the fact that she would even say that especially to her Future Alpha's.

"Look... I'm not sure what kind of scheme you're looking to pull here but me and my brother aren't interested. Sure you were a good lay but that's all you ever where, a good fuck when we

needed it and knowing that you've probably slept with half the pack just comes to show how easy you are" I say knowing I probably shouldn't have said that but back then me and Ares were desperate and she offered, and now we both regret not waiting for our fated. Soon there's silence, as if you could hear a pin drop as Lily stands frozen in front of us, her expression unreadable as if she had shut down and was now lost inside her mind until suddenly she shakes it off before forcing a smile to her lips as if what I just said didn't phase her. "You're so silly Eros, but don't worry, when I'm Luna I'll be all you ever think about" says Lily with a smirk before turning and walking away from us a sense of dread now filling the air.

"I don't like this" I muttered to Ares, keeping my voice low incase someone was nearby.

"Don't worry, she'll never be Luna of our pack" replies Ares, his voice also low.

"But what if she tries to do something? Like an attempt to hurt our mate or worse an attempt to kill her?" I ask him, my worry rising at the thought of our mate being hurt by Lily or anyone else for that matter.

"Calm yourself Eros, our mate will always be protected no matter what, if not by us then by that of our Beta, Gamma and Delta alongside their mates. She'll never be alone" answers Ares, knowing. it was true as their mates would eventually become her protectors like Kai, Seth and Sam were to us.

"You're right, but I can't help but feel like Lily will stop at nothing to get the Luna position" I huff knowing that Lily would stop at nothing and I mean nothing just to get her way.

"And she'll fail every time, come let us shower and then quickly talk to mom and dad before our meeting later with Kai and the others for after all we'll be busy for the next two days" chuckles Ares as he gently claps my shoulder before leading us up the stairs.

The trip up the stairs was overall peaceful, neither Ares or myself had any other trouble as we slowly made our way up towards the Alpha and Luna wing, the pack house being built into four different levels. The main level consisted of the living room, the main hall where all the pack. members could come and go or to just enjoy a meal, a game room, a work out room with a pool, the kitchens, a ballroom for formal events and of course a training room for all our warriors.

The second level was where we kept the offices for the Alpha, Luna, Beta, Gamma and Delta as well as a meeting room, war room, security room as well as guest suites for visiting packs who were there on business. The third level was strictly for the Beta, Gamma and Delta along with their family. That floor in general was built to house 3 large suites that then subdivided into smaller rooms for each member.

The last floor, which was considered the fourth and final floor, was strictly for the Alpha and Luna of the pack. It was known as the Alpha floor or Alpha wing as most called it for on one side of the wing was mine and Ares's room along with our own master suite for when we had found our fated while on the other side of the hall was our parents room, the current Alpha and Luna.

Upon reaching our floor I quickly began heading for my room, Ares doing the same as we both slowly entered the room, our rooms almost identical to one another except for color as mine was more gray and blue with hints of silver while Ares's room had reds and golds with hints of black. Once inside I quickly shut the door before locking it not wanting to risk it with Lily being inside the pack house as I begin to strip off my clothes as I make a bee line for the bathroom, a shower sounding good after everything that had gone on that morning.

Groaning, I quickly move to turn on the shower before adjusting the water to my preferred temp before moving to stand under the running water. "Gods... this is heaven" I groan as the water rushes down and along my body as my mind slowly begins to drift off to that of our mate.
