Today started off like any other day. Eros and I finished up with our daily training as we were the next in line to become Alpha of our pack for as we were identical twins it was only natural that we shared everything and with us turning 23 our father wanted us to start thinking about becoming the next Alpha.
"You know it could be worse" replies Eros who was sitting cross legged on the ground, our training long over and it was just the two of us as our Fight Master had left to find his mate.
Arching an eye I turn to look at Eros, our deep blue eyes and black raven hair now matted in sweat as we have been training hard these past few months in wanting to make our father proud, our 6 '3 frame chiseled with lean muscles and washboard abs to boot. "I know Eros, but we both know it'll be even harder with no Luna" I sigh, moving to sit next to my brother and twin for even though we had just turned 23 we had yet to find to our mate which had us thinking that our mate wasn't in our pack but in that of another neighboring pack.
"So..." starts Eros as he glances towards me. "Do you think she's out there? Our mate?".
"Yeah, I think so" I admit as I look back to him for I knew he was hesitant in hoping she was out there and it seemed like the Moon Goddess had finally decided to bless us with dreams of our mate, a girl with with long brown hair and beautiful blue eyes who stood about 5'6 in height which made her the perfect size for us.
'She's purfect' purrs Zeus who had also seen the dreams just as much as me and Eros and couldn't have been more happy with his mate.
'She definitely is pal' I reply. 'I just wish we could find her already'.
'Don't worry, we'll find her and when we do we'll never let her go' replies Zeus knowing he meant the four of us, Me, Eros, Zeus and his brother Deimos.
As conversations continue onward, neither I nor my brother have yet to hear anyone approach us until we hear the sound of someone clearing their throat which causes us to turn to the voice only to spot Kai along with Seth and Sam, our Future Beta, Gamma and Delta. "Talking to Zeus again?" asks Kai, his short brown hair and brown eyes gazing at me. You see, unlike most Beta's Kai stood about 6 '0 and had broad shoulders and a lean fit frame, definitely worthy of being a Beta. "Yeah" I answer truthfully.
"About what?" smirks Seth with a knowing look on his face as Seth was to be our Future Gamma of the pack, coming in at 6 '1, Seth was an inch taller than Kai with sandy blonde hair and teal color eyes that made his long and lean body look like a god. "You know exactly what" I laugh. "Our beautiful mate".
"Of course, the she-wolf who has been magically appearing within yours and Eros's dreams. Has the Moon Goddess given you any more clues as to where she could be?" asks Sam, our Future Delta.
But unlike Kai and Seth, Sam was a little younger than us with him only being 21 while Kai, Seth, Eros and I being that of 23. But even with the age difference Sam handled his position with ease because after all he was the son of my Father's Delta, Delta Evan. Although, being 21 Sam still had a good build to him, not overly lean but not overly packed with muscle either which gave him the perfect size for his 5'9 frame which made him only an inch shorter than Kai and Seth but still tall enough to be Delta. Sam of course never once complained much in terms of appearance as his auburn color hair and blue eyes gave him just enough to look sexy without even trying.
"She isn't just a she-wolf' growls Eros who was looking at Sam. "She's our Mate and Future Luna of this pack".
"Of course Alpha, I meant no disrespect to our Luna" replies Sam with a bow as he apologized to his Alpha.
"Good" mumbles Eros before gazing back at Kai and Seth who looked like they had wanted to say something else to us as well.
"So... what brings you guys here?" I question, beating Eros to the punchline.
"Your Father, Alpha Alarick has spoken to our parents about the upcoming Mating Ball that is to be hosted by the Moon Walker pack this year" answers Sam.
"Yes, Me and Eros both already know about the upcoming ball... Father says we have to attend as it's a gesture of good faith and good will, plus as Future Alpha's of the Mystic Shadow pack it would be good to mingle with all the unmated wolves as well as meet the Future Alpha's of the other packs." I say to them as Father and Mother had already spoken to us earlier about it before we went to training.
"But... Your mate?" asks Seth who was slightly baffled by my statement just now.
"... Could very well be there as well, as it's for every unmated wolf" replies Eros who wasn't too thrilled about going as well but was doing it for Father.
"That's a very big IF" replies Kai as he looks at us.
"ENOUGH!" I shout, having just about enough of it. "Look I understand everyone's worries but I trust the Moon Goddess. I believe our mate is going to be at the ball and Zeus and I are going. I'll not have a Chosen for a mate and we all know that if the Council had it their way they would try and force it upon us if it wasn't for the fact that Father is still the current Alpha of our pack".
"Agreed" answers Eros who was looking at our group and then back to me. "Deimos and I have both agreed to going to this ball and that we too believe in our Goddess".
"Well shit" mutters Seth as he runs a hand through his hair. "If you both feel this strongly about it then obviously we'll be going as well, after all we have to protect our Alpha's as well as our Luna".
"But you three have mates" says Eros, a bit shocked at first only to feel pride begin to rise for our future team.
"Nonsense, we might have our mates but it's our job as your Future Beta, Gamma and Delta to make sure your safety comes first, plus I'm sure the girls would love to see another pack besides our own" chuckles Kai knowing Emma and Emily would most likely enjoy the trip but as for Lucas, probably not so much as he wasn't a really good dancer.
"Do they know?" I ask curiously.
"No, at least not yet, we haven't had a chance to tell them yet" answers Sam.
Humming, Eros and I move to finally stand after sitting for so long on the hard ground. "Don't wait too long to tell them, but otherwise if that's everything then I plan on heading back towards my room for a quick shower before maybe talking to Mother and Father once more".
"Me too" Eros replies, wanting nothing more than a hot shower as well. "Let's meet up later this afternoon and hatch out a plan for the upcoming trip".
"Sure" come the replies of Kai, Seth and Sam before everyone heads their own separate ways for the time being, everyone agreeing to meet back up later to discuss what the next steps would be.
"I hope your right brother, for the sake of Deimos and Zeus I hope she's there" comes the soft spoken words of Eros as he and I walk slowly back to the pack house and to where our rooms currently reside.
"She'll be there brother, just follow my lead and believe in the Moon Goddess" is all I tell him which seems to settle him down if only a little as it's definitely been rough with each time that we've come up empty handed making the longing all that much more for our Goddess given mate.
