on’t wait!” Alfred ordered. “Start trying tonight!”
right, Brian said with a smile, wrapping his arms around Stella. “Let’s start working on making a baby night.”
ella felt extremely uncomfortable being held in his arms. She discreetly pinched his hand and tried to t him to let go.
it he tightened his grip and asked Alfred, “Grandpa, do you prefer a boy or a girl?”
irandpa loves the idea of either a boy or a girl! I’m happy as long as you two have them.”
Ifred watched them hug and laugh cheerfully.

Did you hear that?” Brian leaned in close to Stella’s ear and said it teasingly. “Grandpa said he loves both oys and girls.”
tella’s face flushed red.
Ulfred burst into laughter. “It would be best if you had two babies.”
Alright, then let’s have two babies,” Brian replied with a smile to his grandfather.
Stella’s face was filled with shock.
Two babies?
He was such a dreamer!
The phone call ended, and Stella instinctively pulled away from his embrace. But he held her tighter, his tall frame leaning in as his nose brushed against hers “Did you hear that? Two children,” he murmured.
Stella’s breath hitched, her body stiffening like a rock. That was just to appease Grandpa!” she protested.
“He may be old, but he’s not senile. Brian countered with a low rumble. “Do you think about the consequences of lying to him?” His voice held a quiet intensity as he leaned closer, the crisp scent of pine momentarily pushing aside the tension in the air.
They were very close to each other.
She could even hear his heartbeat.
Then he said, “Let’s have a baby.”
“What?” Stella thought she had misheard. Was Brian just suggesting we have a baby together?
Brian’s gaze held hers intently. His deep eyes remained unwavering, his sexy Adam’s apple bobbing slightly. There was no hint of jest in his expression.
Stella let out a laugh
“What’s so funny? Brian asked her.
“Why?”
“There’s no future for us anymore.” From the moment Jessica’s pregnancy began, their relationship began to deteriorate.
Stella shoved him away forcefully and glared at his face. His lips were no longer pale, suggesting the medicine was taking effect.
“You should be fine now,” she said calmly. “I’m going back to bed.
With that, she rose and walked out of the room.
The next morning. Brian woke to the sound of the door opening as Stella entered.
Brian assumed she was there to check on him, so he closed his eyes.
But Stella walked past the bed with her phone in her hand. “I need to pack a down jacket, right?” she said into the phone.
“Yes.” Yoel’s voice came from the other end of the line. “We’re going skiing today.”
Okay,” Stella replied
Stepping into the walk–in closet, she remembered promising Yoel dinner. However, his suggestion of skiing had swayed her, and she agreed.
She went inside and changed into a different outfit.
She then grabbed a tracksuit, hat, and down jacket, stuffing them all into a small suitcase.
Just as she was about to leave, she saw Brian standing in the doorway. “Going skiing?” he asked.
His gaze lingered on her Chanel–style jacket and the hip–hugging skirt that accentuated her smooth, slender legs.
“Yes,” Stella said, clipping a rhinestone headband into her hair. Her beauty was captivating, making it hard to look away
Bnan’s face turned cold. “Is your hand healed? Are you able to ski?”
“It’s all better! There’s no pain at all today,” Stella said as she raised her hand, demonstrating it was fine. Brian glanced sideways at her. “So, are you really getting serious with him?”
