Chapter 40
Chapter 40
Stella turned back to see Brian leaning against the door. An inexplicable aura of charm radiated from him.
It was truly unfair. Not only did Brian have such supreme power, he had also been born with a perfectly handsome face.”
“Did you buy this?” Stella asked.
Brian met her gaze and smiled warmly. “Yes. If you like it, you can have it.”
“Oh.”
Stella responded and placed the bag back on the shelf. The pink diamond necklace he’d given her last time rested in the dressing room as well. She wouldn’t take anything that didn’t belong to her.
Brian’s softened expression hardened as he saw the bag being put back. “You don’t want it?” he rumbled in a deep voice.
“No. This bag is too expensive. I can’t afford to replace it if I damage it. I’ll just take a look at the design and recreate it myself later. Why don’t you give this one to Jessica? She’ll definitely love it.” After putting down the bag, Stella went to find him a shirt.
Brian’s face turned colder, “She has better ones. You don’t need to worry about her,” he said expressionlessly.
With that, he took the bag and walked out.
Stella paused, assuming he was going to deliver the bag to Jessica. Without a word, she continued her search for the shirt.
After half an hour, she finally found it.
Stella stepped out, but Brian was nowhere to be seen.
“Where did he go?” She placed the shirt on the bed and headed downstairs to look for him.
Yvonne informed her, “Mr. Foley has already left.”
Stella was inexplicably confused
What a strange man! He insisted she find the shirt, only to leave after she did.
Fuming with frustration, Stella stormed into the kitchen for breakfast. Suddenly, she remembered the
leftover cake from the previous night and decided to have it for breakfast.
However, upon opening the refrigerator, she found the strawberry cake missing.
That was strange.
Yvonne would never throw away her belongings.
With a puzzled look, Stella went to ask Yvonne, “Yvonne, what happened to the cake I left in the
refrigerator?”
“Oh! About the cake…” Yvonne said while wiping her hands with a dishtowel. “Mr. Foley threw away the leftover food this morning. He said it wasn’t safe to eat the cake after being out overnight. I believe he threw it in the living room trash bin.”
Stella was speechless. Why did he throw her cake for no reason?
She walked over to the trash can in the living room and saw that the expensive Adiere bag had also been thrown in there.
“What the hell!”
A bag worth hundreds of thousands of dollars had just been thrown away like that.
Stella’s heart ached. Carefully picking up the bag, she peered inside to find her strawberry cake smashed.
“How childish!”
Even at 30 years old, he had resorted to throwing her cake. How immature could he be?
Stella grumbled as she examined the white bag. Despite the initial annoyance, she couldn’t bring herself. to discard it.
After all, she had claimed it as hers by picking it up.
She packed her belongings inside the bag and carried them off to her work studio.
Upon entering the work studio, Yelena exclaimed in awe, ‘These are limited–edition bags worth hundreds of thousands! Where did you get them? Did Brian get them for you?”
“No! He didn’t want the bag. He just threw it in the trash, so I picked it up and decided to put it to good. use. Stella chuckled. Who wouldn’t love such a gorgeous bag? Might as well use it since it’s free!
“Why did he throw the bag away?”
“I have no idea,” Stella shrugged, unable to fathom his reasoning. “Maybe he just didn’t like the bag.”
