Chapter 33
Chapter 33
“Wait for me and lock your doors. Whatever you do, don’t leave the car.”
“Okay.” Stella still had her wits about her. The two drunken slobs were still yelling. She would be a fool to leave the car.
One of the brutes completely lost it when he saw that she had no intention of leaving the car.
So, he squatted and started trying to turn her car over.
Stella felt her blood drain from her face as she shrieked, “What are
These drunkards had clearly lost all their inhibitions.
you doing?”
Stella felt her heart clench as her car started slanting. At this crucial moment, someone rushed over and gave the brute a knuckle sandwich.
The brute blearily swung his head to his opponent. Before he could react, he was surrounded by a couple of bodyguards.
What happened next was a one–sided beatdown that lasted for about 30 minutes.
Her car crashed to the ground with a groan, nearly scaring Stella’s soul out of her body. She clutched her chest and soon noticed an elegant–looking man approaching her.
He had a pair of frameless glasses sitting upon his nose bridge and he looked sophisticated.
Was that Yoel?
She was still trying to make heads or tails of the situation when Yoel stood before her. Then, he bent
down to look at her with a smile. “Ms. Yates.”
Stella was still hopelessly lost. “Mr. Perkins? Why are you here?”
Yoel raised his phone and showed her the call history. He was basically telling her that he was the Mr.
Perkins she was talking to earlier.
The Mr. Perkins she was meeting on a blind date.
Stella was utterly blown away.
She had assumed that Sharon would just get her a decent man. She didn’t expect Sharon to introduce her to Nas Group’s CEO–Yoel Perkins.
She was still a little out of sorts.
She didn’t expect a man of Yoel’s caliber would need to go on a blind date.
Was he aware that she was Brian’s wife?
“Ms. Yates, are you alright?” Yoel’s secretary, Sandra, asked her.
She recognized Sandra as she had been the one who greeted her back at Nas Group. So, she nodded in
assent. Thankfully, she was still rather calm after the ordeal. “Mr. Perkins, you’re the man Sh…. I mean, Mrs. Foley had contacted?”
She opened the car door and got down.

“That’s right.” Yoel looked at her with an odd smile playing on his lips. “Didn’t Mrs. Foley tell you my
name?”
“I’m afraid not” Stella shook her head and figured that Sharon was trying to wow her.
“Is your hand hurt?” Yoel noticed that she couldn’t raise her arm. So, he instinctively went to support her, asking, “Does it hurt?“:
“I’m fine. I just bumped into the steering wheel when the accident occurred,” Stella answered honestly. Yoel frowned in displeasure and directed his attention to Sandra before ordering, “Send those drunkards to the precinct. Ensure that the proper procedure is followed. I’ll be taking Ms. Yates to the hospital.”
“Yes,” Sandra acquiesced.
“Thank you.
Since she had just gotten into a car accident, she was still rather dazed. So, Yoel personally escorted her to his Bentley and drove her to the hospital.
When they arrived, he led her in and told her to stay put before registering her.
Stella gingerly clutched her hand to herself and snuck a few glances at him.
She had assumed Yoel would be as proud as those scions. She didn’t expect him to be so attentive and down to earth. Therefore, she felt her favorability toward him increase just a tad.
It would be nice to marry someone like him, wouldn’t it?
Yoel returned after a few minutes. He had even bought her a carton of strawberry milk. “I’m guessing you haven’t eaten just yet.”
“Have some of this. I’ll take you out for a meal once the doctor has taken a look at your hand.”
Stella was surprised. “Oh, thank you.”
“Let’s go.” Yoel acted like her protector once more as they walked to the doctor’s office. He was very attentive to her, fearing that she might hurt her hand on the way there.
Although Stella was thankful, she was also unused to such attention: So, she instinctively edged away
from him.
