Chapter 189 

The waiter took down Brian and Stella’s orders before leaving the private room. However, after a few minutes, someone came into the room. Surprisingly, it was Jessica. 

“Brian.” Jessica was wearing a pink dress. She was all smiles as she said, “I was talking about business next door. I came over when I heard you were here.” She then sat down. 

Stella glanced at her and noticed that Jessica’s pink dress was somewhat similar to her usual style. 

Brian also seemed to notice it and frowned slightly. “Why are you wearing pink?” 

“I’m just trying it out. Does it look good?” Jessica asked expectantly. 

“You’re too old for that. It doesn’t really suit you,” Brian said coolly. 

Stella almost laughed out loud at his words. Jessica was Brian’s classmate. She was already 30 years. old. It was okay not to be married at this age, but she wasn’t young for sure. 

So, when Jessica heard his words, her smile froze. Then, she scolded, “Don’t you know that it’s taboo to talk about a woman’s age? I can’t believe you’d say that. It really hurts my feelings.”

Stella felt her chest tighten at her question. It felt as if Jessica was interrogating her. 

She didn’t want to back down, so she took the initiative to hold Brian’s hand. She intertwined their fingers- and placed their joined hands on the table. “We made up.” 

Just like that, Stella was sending Jessica a message. Jessica frowned slightly at their intertwined hands. Then, she looked at Brian. 

Brian looked relaxed and even patted Stella’s head, seemingly indulging her. Stella felt at ease and smiled. 

Their romantic gestures were like a slap to the face for Jessica. She remained silent. She thought Stella would feel guilty, but unexpectedly, Stella challenged her instead. 

After a while, the food was served. Brian carefully cut the steak into pieces and placed the biggest piece on Stella’s plate. “Eat this.” He didn’t ask Jessica to join them for food. 

Stella also pretended not to see Jessica and replied, “Okay.” 

“I’m going back to have dinner with my friends.” Upon seeing that they didn’t welcome her, Jessica said. goodbye and left. 

Stella was a little happy. She was quite satisfied with how Brian treated Jessica this time. 

Brian had changed a little. Stella would get carried away when she was happy. She reached out her hand 

to hold his. His hand was dry and warm. She loved holding hands with him. 

Brian smiled. He seemed to be in a good mood. 

After dinner, Stella went to the bathroom, only to see Jessica tidying her hair there. 

When Jessica saw her, she stopped tidying her hair and said softly, “Stella, do you know that Mrs. Foley is 

awake?” 

Stella stiffened at her words, and she turned her head. 

Jessica continued, “Today, Mrs. Foley told me that Brian and I should put our wedding on the agenda. Well have it on the day of her birthday.” Sharon’s 60th birthday was at the end of the month. 

Stella had a cold expression on her face. “Your baby isn’t even Brian’s. Why do you have to marry him?” 

“But Brian wants me to bring it to term.” Jessica stroked her belly and added sadly, “I didn’t want the baby, but Brian asked me to give birth to it. He said he’d be responsible for him.” Stella’s eyes trembled. “How can this be?”
