Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 174

Chapter 174

Stella’s heart skipped a beat when she heard Brian’s words. She stepped back and leaned on the clothes

rack. With a blush on her face, she said, “I’m not! I’ve never pretended to be docile!”

“That’s not true. In the past, you always did whatever asked you. But you’re so disobedient now. You’re always going against me.” Brian retorted

Before Jessica returned, Stella used to be a typical good girl who would blush and be overjoyed when she saw him. When he was at home, she would never leave home and would stay by his side. She had been extremely obedient.

Stella couldn’t refute his claims. After all, she had indeed pretended to be docile. When she loved

someone, she would instinctively suck up to him. She just wanted to show him how great of a partner she

was.

However, when Jessica returned to the country later on, Stella felt so disappointed that she began

showing her true disposition.

“So? Why did you become so rebellious?” Brian approached her and stared at her intently.

“I’m already a big girl. There’s nothing wrong with being rebellious.”

Brian glanced down and chuckled, “Well, you’re not that big.” He was clearly hinting at something else.

Stella blushed and covered her chest. “You’re bullying me again!” She pushed him away and said with

embarrassment and annoyance, “I hate this. Then, she ran out of the room

Brian couldn’t help but smile when he saw her running away after he teased her.

Later, Stella went to look for toiletries for him, but she only found a pink towel and a duck toothbrush. She sheepishly handed them to him. “Sorry, this is all we have here.”

Brian glanced at them and chuckled, “I thought you said you’re a big girl now. Yet, you still have such

childish things.”

“As if! I’m just in touch with my girlish side. These aren’t childish,” Stella retorted. Then, she showed him

to the bathroom.

She was afraid that he didn’t know how to use the shower, so she stood inside the bathroom and taught him how to adjust the temperature of the water.

“Turn the knob here if you want cold water, and turn it there if you want hot water. Also, the taps here are automatic. Just place your hand under the faucet, and there’ll be water.”

As Brian watched her speak, he inexplicably felt a warmth in his chest, as if he was right at home.

Stella droned on while he listened quietly. Although she was a little dreary, Brian didn’t feel annoyed

Instead, he felt a sense of contentment. If it hadn’t been for her, he might never have joined the Yates.

Back then, his father, Jasper Foley, had made a name for himself at a young age. He didn’t want to work

in Foley Group, so he established his own chip manufacturing company.

Simon was on Jasper’s team, so they manufactured chips together. When the project was about to be completed, seven members of the team went to Mavonia to raise funds.

But later, for some unknown reason, they couldn’t reach an agreement and betrayed Jasper one after another. Jasper then fell to his death in Mavonia.

Only Jasper died, while everyone else earned a profit and lived a fruitful life. Brian was only ten years old. then. In the memorial hall, he vowed to make those who had betrayed his father suffer.

Due to their company’s bankruptcy and huge debt, the seven people who betrayed Jasper later committed suicide by jumping off a building. Only Simon was still in prison.

Brian also had a hand in his imprisonment. He had been the one who exposed Simon’s use of subpar cement in Yates Group, which led the police to investigate the company thoroughly.

However, Simon had a last secret about Jasper, and he used that secret in exchange for Brian to marry

Stella.

So, this entire ordeal had its benefits and drawbacks. If Simon and his compatriots hadn’t betrayed Jasper, he wouldn’t have died in Mavonia. On the other hand, if it weren’t for Stella, Simon would’ve died.

in prison.

Ultimately, Brian didn’t do anything to Simon. He didn’t know the logic behind this, but he probably felt. that if he killed Simon, he and Stella would be destined to be at odds with each other for the rest of their

lives.

However, he couldn’t love her either. If he did, he would be betraying his father….

When Jasper was still alive, he had been so kind to Brian. No matter how busy or tired he was when he came home, he would ask Brian about his homework and teach him about business

His heart turned cold when he thought of this, and he looked indifferently at the bright bathtub before him.
