After resting for some time, Samantha went back to work. 

She had also heard an exciting piece of news. The originally agreed upon contract was breached by Marilyn’s side. This led to them having to compensate with a huge sum of money. However, for such a large project, the amount was not significant. 

After contacting Conrad, she finally knew what happened behind the scenes. That day, it was Kendrick who had kidnapped Marilyn’s sister. If Robb hadn’t kidnapped Samantha, Kendrick would have used Marilyn’s sister as a pawn to negotiate the 

terms and conditions. However, to Kendrick, it seemed that Samantha was more 

trustworthy as a person who could benefit him in the long–term. Therefore, even if 

this project was not taken by the company, it was not a loss at all. 

When Samantha arrived at the company in the morning, she noticed an extra table in the office. Linda, with dyed hair, was touching up her makeup at the table. 

The moment Kendrick walked in, Linda approached him with a sweet voice. 

Kendrick just simply greeted her. 

Samantha solely focused on her work since she was already used to their daily 

interactions. 

“Sophia, you’re in charge of the last collaboration,” Kendrick informed her of her 

tasks for the day. 

“Okay.” 

“Kenny, I want to help too!” 

Linda unexpectedly wanted to be involved in this matter. 

Samantha didn’t have much of an opinion on this. Kendrick nodded, considering it 

an agreement. Samantha had her secretary send someone to pick up the documents. 

She also requested her, secretary to send over the entire schedule for the day’s 

meetings. She made some adjustments along the way. 

Kendrick headed to lunch on time. 

As soon as he left, Linda’s voice raised as she said, “Why are you so dtunt? luttak 

someone to get this done!” 

Samantha pretended she didn’t hear Linda. After a while, someone from the design department called her. 

“Sophia, is Linda stupid or what? Why would she want to delay SL Series forrafow days?” the vice–leader of the design department, Helen White, complained grummiw 

“No delays. Just maintain the previous pace.” 

Samantha hung up and glanced at Linda, who was sitting opposite her. 

She coldly said, “Ms. Linda, I hope you can treat your work with respect.” 

Samantha stood up and took her coat. She was ready to have lunch at the cafeteria. 

“You b*tch. Don’t talk to me like that.” 

Linda tilted her head and shot her a glance. If it wasn’t because of Samantha, Linda 

would have been able to sit inside that office instead of being alone in the corridor. 

“I don’t mind giving you a lesson on how to talk properly, if you want.” 

Samantha’s eyes turned cold. 

Linda was still the same as she used to be. She was proud and arrogant. Samantha 

was determined to avenge herself, recalling how Linda had poured wine on her 

wound back then. 

Closing the door, Samantha shut off Linda’s loud complaints from inside the office. 

Entering the crowded employee cafeteria, Samantha stood in line with her tray. She 

took her time. 

At that moment, Jude, who should have been accompanying Kendrick for lunch, 

approached her. 

He took her empty tray and suggested, “Ms. Meadows, why not go to the other side?” 

“It’s fine, I’ll stay here,” answered Samantha.

The other side referred to the area in the employee cafeteria where special dishes were prepared. However, the prices were high, and it didn’t necessarily guarantee a filling meal. 

“Mr. Ford is waiting for you,” Jude reminded her in a low voice. 

The nearby employees turned their heads, pretending not to have seen Kendrick summoning his own secretary. 

“I’m good.” 

Samantha still chose to reject the offer. 

It was better for them to remain a distance apart. The work–related matters were enough to make Kendrick bankrupt. She didn’t want to be dragged into a whole. emotional love story once again. She found this man to be too charismatic. It was hard to resist him for sure. 

Jude had no choice, and Kendrick didn’t insist further. He could almost imagine her standing there in line. It had been a long time since he had seen such an attractive 

woman. 

Samantha felt that work had been going smoothly. But when she finished eating. she saw Helen urgently looking for her. Her facial expression changed for the worse. 

“Did Linda really say that?” 

Samantha frowned. 

She stood up to walk to the other side of the cafeteria. She figured that Kendrick 

must still be there. 

“She insists that the order of things be changed. We are already out of time!” 

Helen’s face was slightly flushed due to anger. 

Pushing the door open, Samantha saw Kendrick, who had just finished his meal. 

He looked at her with an amused gaze and asked, “Well, well. Wanna eat with me 

now?” 

“Of course not. I’m here for work–related stuff.”

Samantha then placed the documents Helen passed to her before Kendrick. 

“Mr. Ford, do you think this is achievable? Or do you actually not care about SL Series at all?” 

Samantha’s eyes were burning with passion, and she wasn’t afraid of offending her own boss at all. 

Even if she had to deal with Kendrick’s company, Samantha wouldn’t abandon her work. When it came to design, she was always 100% passionate and dedicated.
