The taste was not bad… It just felt like something was missing.

Kendrick hadn’t completed the second half of his sentence.

Linda now looked like someone who was filled with shyness and hope. Her exhilaration after hearing his compliment was beyond words.

“I heard that it’s your favorite food, so I asked Mrs. White to teach me.”

Kendrick’s thoughts had wandered far.

He recalled the time when Samantha made the dish for him for the first time. She,

too, peered at him with a hopeful gaze, hoping to hear his compliments.

Instead, he simply glanced over it coldly at the time. He told her that he wasn’t

eating it, then headed upstairs.

He completely disregarded the disappointed look on her face and left her in the

living room.

When he went downstairs to get his things in preparation to head out, he realized

that she was no longer there.

The plate of eggs and ham was still sitting on the table, albeit half-eaten.

He then took a pinch from it and stuffed it in his mouth. The way it tasted was quite similar to this, but perhaps there was something else more.

The fried eggs were slightly saltier.

Ever since Kendrick returned, he appeared rather absent-minded. Of course, Linda

was able to tell.

She thought back to the scene earlier when he and Sophia k*ssed right in front of

her.

After eating, he sat for a while in the living room. Then, he went back into his room. and didn’t accompany her.

Although Linda was unhappy, she could only glance at him with tears in her eyes. She didn’t voice anything out.

All she could do was hope that he could turn his attention back to her when he noticed how she looked.

However, Kendrick didn’t seem to have noticed anything. With his long, slender legs, he strode upstairs.

irritably in order to make himself feel less constrained.

At that moment, his chiseled and frigid face no longer looked as resolute as before.

All that was left was an anxious restlessness.

Because of Sophia, he was once again reminded of Samantha.

It was in this room where he had woken up and found himself with markings on his

face.

He was the only one left in the room after he had fallen into a deep sleep with her in

his arms.

He pushed the sliding door open and walked out onto the balcony.
