No Escape From the Ex-husband by Summer Winters

Chapter 107

Chapter 0107

Samantha tidied up the plates on the table. She threw all the ones that looked

inedible into the trash.

Then, she put the apron around her and strutted into the kitchen.

A short moment later, she readied three plates of ham and eggs.

A delicious aroma wafted into their nostrils, and every egg was perfectly fried. All three of them began to salivate.

Simply by the smell, Nathan and Alexis couldn’t wait any longer.

They rushed to sit at the table and began digging into the food.

Every single bite was fragrant, and it tickled their taste buds.

The freshness of the eggs and the tenderness of the ham worked in harmony. They

were indeed an excellent match.

It was obvious that Nathan was famished. He scarfed down his plate of food without

stopping for a second.

Samantha quickly grabbed a cup. She patted his back gently and urged him in a loving voice, “Eat slowly. Mommy will definitely be home earlier next time.”

At the same time, Alexis was also enjoying her meal. She wiped her plate clean and

took her last bite.

Fully satisfied, she complimented, “Whoever gets to marry you is truly blessed. Or, perhaps, you should just marry me.”

“Sure, it would be better still if you could be Nate’s father,” Samantha joked in response as she looked back at Alexis.

When Nathan heard that Alexis was going to be his father, he pouted immediately in

objection.

“I don’t want that, I don’t want that! I want Uncle Francis to be my dad. Plus, daddies

should be males! There are no females who are dads!”

Samantha wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry. Her mood declined again at the mention of Francis’ name.

Alexis didn’t notice any unnatural change in Samantha’s expression. She only felt that a little child was discriminating against her.

She quickly asked, “What’s wrong with me? Am I not better than that sis sy, who is also a ps ycho?”

“Uncle Francis is not a ps ycho!”

A back-and-forth argument broke out between the both of them, an adult and a child, all because they disagreed on who could be Nathan’s father.

They both made a huge fuss.

As Samantha watched them bickering, she could only smile wryly and shake her head continuously. Even so, she felt very blessed..

At the very least, even if she had to bear a huge suffering in her heart, nothing else mattered as long as she was able to see her best friend and her son.

On the other hand, Kendrick arrived back at the Ford Residence.

The moment he opened the door, he saw a small figure wearing an apron. She was setting the dining table.

His heart fluttered, and he hurried on over. However, when she turned around, he realized that it was actually Linda.

She looked at him with tears in her eyes and said, “I thought that you weren’t

coming back, Kenny. I’ve waited for you for a long

ime.”

“Waited for a long time…””

In the span of those three years, that was a phrase that Samantha never ever complained out loud.

No matter how long she waited, she would just foolishly reheat his dinner when he returned.

Samantha Duncan, Samantha Duncan.

These two words had been surrounding him like a curse recently.

He couldn’t believe that she actually came to mind when he was in that situation

just now.

Kendrick gave Linda a nod of acknowledgment and walked over to have a seat.

His face was cold and expressionless.

Linda observed Kendrick’s expression carefully.

Even though she was displeased, she maintained a happy outlook and set his

cutleries up for him.

Kendrick stared at the familiar-looking plate of eggs and ham. His heart sk ipped a beat, and his long eyelashes trembled.

He took a peek at Linda, who had a face full of anticipation. She prompted him to

have a taste.

Kendrick picked up his cutleries and took a bite.

He felt his world shake. This taste was so similar- so similar to the one that

Samantha made.

Kendrick smiled at Linda with his eyes and responded, “It’s not bad…”

Linda was so thrilled to hear his praise that she spun around on the spot.

She explained proudly, “Really? It took me a while to learn it from Mrs. White. She said that this is your favorite dish.

“If you like it, I can be the one to make it for you next time. At least Mrs. White

wouldn’t need to rush to whip it up for you each time whenever you’re back at an unpredictable time.”
