NightTide: The Girl With Red Eyes

Chapter Is Any Of This Real?

I wasn’t sure how to react to what she said. I don’t know how anyone would react to being told they’re not human. She suddenly stopped pull me back along with her. “Please don’t make any sudden movements; The Pathfinder wanted us to meet him here.” We were standing there for a long time before anyone showed up. We just stood there hearing footsteps in the distance before someone showed up behind us.

“Ah, Dr. Isle I’m glad you three were able to meet me.” The voice sounded familiar but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

“Hello Pathfinder, is it okay for us to turn around?” The lady he called Dr. Isle asked him that but I wasn’t too sure why.

“Now, could you and your… associate leave us. I would like to speak to her... alone.” The way he said it sounded more like a command then a request.

“Yes Pathfinder.” Right after she said that, she walked away with that guy trailing slightly behind; leaving me alone with the guy she called Pathfinder behind me.

“Red, would you please turn around.” He said without the commanding tone this time, it felt rather friendly. So, I turned around saw a white mask on him. I didn’t look like it had any holes for his eyes but it had two holes where the nose would be and a barred off space where the mouth would be, it had a puffed-out crease going down the middle of it. He also wore a large cloak that was pure white, it covered his hands and feet; it also seemed to have a hood that was up covering the back of his head. Everything about him seemed trusting enough but his height was... intimidating. “Hello, I suppose you may not remember me. I am the Pathfinder here. I… understand that my first impression may not have been the best, but I had to be aggressive so that the people know that I will handle any potential threat. I do apologize for now, I see my actions were unnecessary... Also, I wouldn’t listen to what that doctor tells you when involving strengths. She tends to over calculate the strength of someone, but do listen when she tells you what can hurt you; she hasn’t been wrong yet about that. Now please come with me, I would like to introduce you to… well let’s just say they’ll be what I would like to call your family, but that is not the case.” He seemed to be rather happy, I wasn’t sure why but I decided to follow him.

We didn’t walk for very long before he stopped in front of a door. It was odd he just stood there. That’s when the door suddenly flew open and two people ran out gasping for air. Before they could say anything, the Pathfinder pulled something out of his cloak and threw it in the room; then he immediately slammed the door. A few seconds later there was an explosion and the door locked. As I stood there dumbfounded by what just happened two-people looked over at me. It took me a while to notice they were trying to get my attention. They failed and I didn’t notice what was going on until I fell over. Out of confusion I looked away from the spot the door was at and looked over to where the three were standing.

“Ah good. About time you noticed what was going on. We are currently moving to a training field.” The Pathfinder said that, it seemed like he didn’t want the other two to talk yet.

One of the people standing there was a tall guy. I didn’t know his height at the time but he towered over me like the Pathfinder did. The amount of people that were taller than me was starting to get irritating.

“Now when we arrive I will… activate the three of you, we need to see how well you all perform together. Also, it may be a bit painful at first; afterwards I’ll give you three free time in your quarters to talk.”
