Chapter I Don't Understand.
Shortly after she disappeared I heard a faint click, then a loud slam, after the slam several overhead lights flipped on. The sudden change in lighting hurt my eyes so I had covered my head with the blanket. I sat there for a while before I started to hear footsteps.
“You, NightTide, get that blanket off your head.” A rather deep voiced man said that while snatching the blanket from my head. By then I had already gotten used to the light thanks to the holes that it shined through in the blanket, but it was still rude of him to do that. “Here, this will help with your injuries, after five minutes you are required to leave this room. I’m counting down now.” He immediately stuck a syringe in my neck, and I tried to push him away, but he just glared at me while he injected something.
I immediately felt a burst of energy but my neck hurt. The guy was counting down aloud and it was rather agitating hearing him. I couldn’t really see his face since he was wearing a black outfit that read swat on his shoulder. When he got down to sixty seconds I tried to get up off the bed and right when my foot touched the ground he grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the room.
“OW OW OW LET ME GO!” I screamed at him but he ignored me.
Right when we got out of the room he slammed the door behind us. He then slapped a collar on my neck and let go of my arm.
“Follow me. If you try to stray off the collar will send an electric shock strong enough to kill a grown man, we don’t want to kill but if you don’t listen we will harm you, and we’ll do it thoroughly... I’d be lying if I said that I won’t enjoy seeing you suffer.” The way he said it made me feel like he wanted to kill me himself, I didn’t like it but I also didn’t have a choice so I followed him; I tried to avoid taking chances. More pain didn’t seem worth it.
As we walked down the hallways I saw glimpse of others. Usually we were passing doors that weren’t shut all the way, some of them had laughter bellowing out of them; others had what sounded like teaching; I, remember hearing some screaming coming from one. I also saw a couple others being led by people wearing outfits like the one I was following; though they were going in different directions. I didn’t like how long we were walking; everything felt like it was in slow motion and he kept looking back at me while having his finger on the trigger of the rifle he was carrying. He then suddenly stopped.
