My Wolf and I

Chapter 31 ✔

JAYVEE

People slowly started to trickle out of the safe room. The other fighters and I were standing in the hall waiting to hug our loved ones.

Almost everyone was out when Claire and her group of children came out. She quickly walked over when our eyes met. “Alpha, I’m so sorry. But Luna Aiden ran out of the safe room to look for you before anyone could stop him.” It felt like my body went numb. I barely felt the tugging on my hand until a little voice said.

“Da!” A little pup said while using my hand to help stand. She had curly blond hair and beautiful blue eyes. I looked down at her then back at Claire.

“I don’t want to put words in his mouth. But I think Aiden wanted to talk to you about her. I told him she had no one and he said, ‘I will be back for her’. Her name is Galaxy.”

Galaxy let go of my hand slowly and made grabby hands up at me. I picked her up and Forest howled loudly in my head when she stuck her thumb in her mouth and laid her head on my shoulder.

“I need to make sure this is what he meant but I’ll be taking care of her in the meantime,” I said before walking away with Galaxy still in my arms.

I was in the pack’s meeting room with about twenty other men. All of them had had their mates taken as well. Galaxy was playing with toys in the corner behind me. Forest and I hadn’t been able to let her out of our sight.

“Alright, the only thing all of our mates have in common is that they are male and are mated to males. Right?” I asked, someone on the far side of the table raised their hand.

“They’re all, um, bottoms, right?” he asked, others around him nodded. I glanced back at Galaxy then looked back at the men with a nod.

“We know that they came from they attacked from the west we should start there. I thi-” I was interrupted by a tap on my side. I turned and was met with a toy phone being shoved toward me.

“Da.” Galaxy said, shaking the phone. I nodded and turned back to the men, only to be hit harder on my side. “Da!” I turned my chair and sat her on my lap, but she kept holding the phone out to me.

I sighed and took the phone and slowly put it to my ear. “Hello?” I asked causing her to smile, “What? I never said that!” I exaggerated my expressions to make her laugh. I smiled at her and said “Well fine then! Here she is.” then handed it back to Galaxy. “They want to talk to you.” She giggled and took the phone before starting her baby gibberish into it.

I turned back to the men, who were all looking at me in shock.
