Chapter 1128 I Will Send You to Aldoria
Julien's back hit the sofa, and he looked extremely dissatisfied.
He wasn't displeased with Sydney but rather with the person who rang the doorbell so late.
Sydney pretended not to see the dissatisfaction on his face and hurriedly sat up from the sofa, tidying up her messy hair and clothes. "Someone just rang the doorbell. Did you hear it?" she asked him.
Julien was also adjusting his clothes at this moment. Compared to her nervousness and panic, he remained calm and composed. Even if someone had arrived, he didn't lose his composure in the slightest.
He patted his sleeve, crossed his legs, and calmly replied, "I heard it. Why are you so flustered about having an expected visitor?"
Observing Sydney as she stood up and adjusted her pants, Julien continued with a smile, "Moreover, this is our domain. As hosts, we shouldn't be so anxious when someone arrives. Otherwise, others might assume that we have done something improper at someone else's place."
This statement left Sydney stunned, and she blinked in confusion.
Indeed, this place belonged to her.
Whatever she and Julien did here was reasonable and justified.
So why should she panic and become flustered just because someone arrived?
Seeing her reaction, unfamiliar onlookers might genuinely assume that she and Julien were engaged in inappropriate activities in someone else's place.
Sydney let out a sigh and couldn't help but smile wryly. "I overreacted, but it was simply a subconscious response. You see, we were in the midst of an intimate moment when someone unexpectedly arrived. It's only natural to have a strong reaction in such a situation. After all, I am afraid of being discovered."
Julien chuckled.
"Alright, I will go open the door," Sydney said as she casually adjusted her hair near her ear and began walking towards the entrance.
Julien stood up and grabbed her wrist. "I'll go with you."
He was curious to see who would disturb them at such a late hour.
He hoped that person had a valid reason for doing so, otherwise...
Julien narrowed his eyes, and a hint of cold and dangerous light flashed in them.
As Zach stood outside the door, he inexplicably felt a chill run down his spine.
Unable to control it, he shivered and rubbed his arms.
Suddenly, the door swung open, revealing Sydney and Julien standing at the entrance.
Upon seeing them, Zach released his arm and stood up straight. "Mr. Flint, Ms. Raines, good evening."
"Zach?" Sydney recognized the person outside the door and couldn't help but look surprised.
Julien's eyebrows furrowed. "What brings you here?" he asked sternly.
"I..." Zach was about to answer, but Julien's expression had turned extremely cold. "You better have something important. Otherwise, pack your things tomorrow and go to Aldoria for an inspection." "What?" Zach was completely taken aback, and his glasses almost slid down from his nose.
'What is going on? Why did Mr. Flint assign me to the most desolate place in the world for inspection?' he wondered.
Zach stood frozen outside the door, wearing a bewildered expression. He was completely at a loss.
Sydney covered her mouth and couldn't help but burst into laughter.
This laughter snapped Zach back to reality, and he looked at Julien with a wry smile. "Mr. Flint, did I do something wrong? Why would you suddenly send me to Aldoria?" Julien's lips tightened. "Do I need to provide a reason? If I give you an order, you are expected to comply without question. Enough with the unnecessary chatter." "But..." Zach hesitated.
"Alright, Julien." Sydney grabbed Julien's arm and smiled. "Don't scare Zach."
She knew why Julien had arranged for Zach to go to Aldoria.
He must have been angry that Zach interrupted him just when he was about to make out with her, so he deliberately retaliated against Zach by sending him to Aldoria. She knew very well how petty Julien could be.
Sydney shook her head with a helpless smile.
Zach blinked in confusion. "Scare me? Ms. Raines, what do you mean? Are you playing some sort of game, like Truth or Dare? And Mr. Flint lost, so he's taking it out on me?" He almost indicated that Julien redirected his anger at innocent people.
Julien naturally understood his meaning, and his handsome face darkened.
'Should I still keep this assistant? Perhaps I had better send him off to Aldoria,' Julien thought to himself.
Sydney didn't expect Zach to be so audacious and imaginative, coming up with ideas like playing Truth or Dare.
However, it had to be said that Zach's guess was close to the truth.
Although they didn't play Truth or Dare, they were engaged in a romantic "game" between lovers, and Julien treated Zach this way because he was indeed angry.
"Tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock, you will fly directly to Aldoria. You don't need to worry about the plane ticket, the finance department will handle it," Julien waved his hand and issued the order. Zach panicked. "Mr. Flint, you can't punish me just because you lost a game. I haven't done anything wrong!"
Sydney's shoulders shook with laughter.
Zach truly believed that Julien wanted to send him away because he lost a game.
However, she and Julien had no intention of revealing the truth.
After all, they were too embarrassed to explain, so they could only continue to let Zach misunderstand.
"Alright, Julien was just teasing you. He wouldn't actually send you to Aldoria." Sydney smiled reassuringly as she looked at Zach's uneasy expression.
Zach's eyes lit up. "Ms. Raines, is that true? Mr. Flint really won't send me to Aldoria?"
"Who says I won't?" Julien coldly stared at him.
Zach was instantly dumbfounded again.
Sydney rolled her eyes and impatiently patted Julien's arm. "Stop scaring Zach. If you really send him to Aldoria, where will you find another assistant who understands you so well in such a short time?" That sounded reasonable.
Zach nodded quickly.
Julien pressed his lips together.
Sydney continued, "Besides, Zach didn't do it on purpose."
"He disturbed us," Julien pointed at Zach with a frown.
Sydney shook her head. "So what? It's just a slight delay. After Zach leaves, we can continue with that, right?"
As she spoke these words, the tension around Julien instantly dissipated, replaced by joy and happiness.
Anyone could sense his current good mood.
When the two were talking, they were close to each other and speaking in low voices.
Zach couldn't hear what they were saying, but he could feel that Julien's mood improved significantly after a few words from Sydney. He couldn't help but genuinely admire Sydney. Sydney truly lived up to her reputation. With just a few casual words, she could transform Julien from an explosive powder keg into a gentle and considerate man.
Sure enough, there was a rule in this world that everything had its vanquisher, and the couple in front of him verified this.
"Are you still angry now?" Sydney nudged Julien with her elbow and inquired, unaware that Zach was judging her relationship with Julien inwardly.
Julien cleared his throat and coughed lightly. "I'm not that angry anymore."
"Since that's the case, don't scare Zach anymore. He has been working hard for you, and what if he gets too frightened?" Sydney said, looking at Zach. Zach was deeply moved. "Ms. Raines, you are so kind to me."
Sydney smiled at him. "You are welcome. Don't worry, Mr. Flint won't send you to Aldoria."
"Mr. Flint, is that true?" Zach eagerly looked at Julien, hoping to hear his confirmation.
