Chapter 1125 Felicia Reported to Julien
Felicia helped the Old Madam back into her bedroom as they talked.
The Old Madam was tired. She didn't pass the time by reading books, as she used to when sleep eluded her. Felicia took the Old Madam to her room and helped her get into bed.
After the Old Madam got into bed, she fell asleep quickly.
Felicia smiled when she saw the Old Madam fall asleep. She tucked the Old Madam in and left the room.
After closing the door behind her, Felicia took out her cell phone. Turning her head to look at the door of the Old Madam's bedroom, she had a hesitant look on her face.
After a few seconds, the hesitation on Felicia's face disappeared and turned into a look of determination.
Although the Old Madam had told her not to tell Julien that his mentor, Mr. McDaniel, had come during the day, Felicia thought it best to tell Julien.
She was afraid that Julien would be more worried if he learned about it later.
With that thought in mind, Felicia dialed Julien's number.
Julien had just returned to the apartment after taking out the trash. His cell phone rang in the living room.
Changing into his slippers, he walked towards the living room. The cell phone rang louder and louder.
Hearing Julien's footsteps, Sydney put down the remote and turned around to him. "You're quick."
Julien responded, "Yes, I am."
Sydney picked up Julien's cell phone, checked the number of the caller, and then handed it to Julien. "It's Felicia."
"Felicia? "Julien's eyes cooled down. He took the phone. 'It really is Felicia.'
Sydney made a space for Julien.
Julien sat down.
As soon as he sat down, Sydney felt the couch sink much lower.
Indeed, Julien was a strong and tall man.
"Hurry! Felicia is calling at this late hour. I hope Grandma is okay." Seeing Julien fidgeting with his cell phone, Sydney nudged him, and he came back to his senses. Julien looked at Sydney and answered the phone right away, "Felicia, what's up?"
Julien turned on the speaker, so Sydney could also hear it.
"Julien, I hope I'm not interrupting you and Ms. Raines," Felicia said in a gentle voice.
Before Julien could answer, Sydney moved closer to the phone and said, "Felicia, good evening."
"Ms. Raines, good evening." At the sound of Sydney's voice, Felicia broke into a smile.
Although Sydney couldn't see Felicia's face, she could detect that Felicia was surprised when she heard her.
"Ms. Raines, sorry to bother you guys so late." Felicia apologized.
Sydney replied, "That's okay. Julien and I just finished dinner. We are watching TV. It's still too early to go to bed. You're not bothering us."
"Okay." Felicia sighed in relief.
Julien put his arm around Sydney's waist and asked in a deep voice, "Felicia, is there something wrong with Grandma? You're calling me at this late hour." There was a hint of worry in Julien's tone.
Sydney also clenched her hands and gave a worried look.
She was just as worried as Julien.
On the other end of the line, hearing Julien's question, Felicia hurriedly shook her head and answered, "No. Madam is fine. I'm calling about another matter."
Both Julien and Sydney were relieved to hear that the Old Madam was fine.
Julien could feel Sydney's body tense up earlier and now she was relaxed.
"Okay. What is it?" Julien's palms roamed over Sydne's waist.
After making sure his grandmother was okay, his good mood returned.
Feeling Julien's hands roam around her waist, Sydney slapped his hand with annoyance, but her slap was gentle.
Instead of removing his hand, Julien held her tighter.
If Sydney wasn't worried about Felicia hearing them, she wanted to grab his arm and bite it.
Julien had a smug smile as he watched Sydney try to remove his hand.
Sydney was like a kitten playing with a ball of wool. The cat tried to get rid of the ball of wool but got tangled up tighter in the wool. It fought so hard against the ball of wool but only got itself wrapped tighter by the wool.
Now Sydney was trying to break free from his embrace, just like a kitten was trying to get rid of the ball of wool.
Julien enjoyed this game with Sydney as he talked to Felicia. His eyes were smiling.
Felicia didn't know what was going on at the other end of the phone. Julien and Sydney didn't make any noise.
Felicia was only worried about the Old Madam. She paid no attention to the other things.
She said with a sigh, "Mr. McDaniel came to our house earlier."
"What?" Hearing this, Julien stopped teasing Sydney.
Sydney, who was concentrating on trying to get away from Julien, also jerked her head up. She turned to the phone and asked, "Mr. McDaniel went to see Grandma?"
"Yes." Felicia replied.
Julien's face instantly grimaced. "Who did he take with him?"
Felicia was honest. "Mr. McDaniel brought his son and grandson."
Sydney saw Julien's clouded face. She patted his hand to calm him down. Then she asked, "What did they go to see Grandma for? Is it about the matter that happened earlier today?"
Sydney guessed that Julien's grandmother and Felicia knew about the incident, since both she and Julien were involved.
Even if Julien's grandmother was not used to paying attention to the news on the internet, people around her would know about it and tell her.
Therefore, Sydney asked Felicia the question straight forwardly.
She was sure they knew about it.
Indeed, Felicia's reply proved Sydney's guess right.
"Yes, that's why they came," Felicia replied, "the McDaniels know that Julien is angry and wants them to hold the responsibility. They couldn't reach Julien, so they came to see Madam. They wanted her to talk to Julien and ask Julien to forgive them."
"I see," Sydney understood. She then turned her head to Julien.
Julien's face was grimmer and he was giving off a cold aura.
He was not happy that the McDaniels had bothered his grandmother.
"Felicia, they weren't rude to Grandma, were they?" Sydney inquired.
Julien stared at his cell phone.
He knew his grandmother. She was a strong woman.
But his grandmother wasn't in good health, so he was worried that the McDaniels would annoy his grandma.
"They were!" Felicia replied in an angry tone.
Sydney was surprised. She stood up from the couch and in a pitched voice she asked, "What? What did they say to Grandma?"
