Chapter 2208
Things couldn't be that simple!
It was a weekend that day.
Sheldon would usually be working even on weekends at the President's Office. Since Tremaine wasn't there in the morning, he was planning to leave after his morning task. Who knew Preslie would come to his mind just as he had time for himself.
He had wanted to go out for a walk to take things off his mind, but he only missed her more when he ate at a random restaurant.
What horrible food!
They were nowhere as good as the dishes she made!
Even his stomach was missing her like crazy.
After hesitating for a long time, he still decided to drive to Agaphen City in the end.
After reaching Preslie and Yesseca's patisserie, he still hesitated but went in in the end.
After all, Tremaine and Yesseca's broken relationship had nothing to do with Yesseca and his.
And knowing Yesseca, he believed that she wouldn't hate him just because of Tremaine. Otherwise, Preslie wouldn't have informed him about their opening. With a peace of mind, he walked in the shop.
As soon as he entered, he saw many waiting in line to pay the bill.
He didn't want to disturb their business, so he stood in the corner.
The line was only finally gone after half an hour of waiting.
Sheldon went over to them. "Hello, Preslie, Miss Cowell."
The two were surprised to see Sheldon.
Preslie was first to come to her senses as joy filled her face. "Mr. Hawls, what a surprise! You-"
A thought struck her as she looked at Yesseca uneasily, leaving her words hanging.
Yesseca understood what she meant.
She smiled and said, "Mr. Hawls, welcome."
Although Sheldon was Tremaine's subordinate, they were two individuals.
What was more, if she could leave her feelings for
Tremaine behind, she should be able to face Sheldon with equanimity.
Seeing Yesseca's smile, Preslie heaved a sigh of relief.
She said, "When did you arrive? I didn't notice you were here until you called out to us. Gosh, and I thought I was hearing things."
Sheldon replied, "I've been over there, but you two were occupied with some customers, so I waited."
He looked around then said, "Looks like things are going well for you two."
"Of course." Přeslie raised her chin
proudly, saying, "Yesseca and I already have plans to expand our store and maybe even open a branch I might become the
president of our patisserie this time next year."
Preslie's words got Sheldon stumped for a second.
And he burst out laughing. "Is that so? Well, I hope your dreams come true, Miss President."
As they exchanged greetings, Preslie received a call.
Her expression changed, saying, "Mr. Hawls, I have to leave. You can stay here with Yesseca."
With that, she hurried out of the store.
As she watched Preslie leave, Yesseca couldn't help feeling uneasy.
Could it be that again?
Just as she was about to stop Preslie, Sheldon asked, "Miss Cowell, have you been well recently?"
Yesseca smiled happily, pulling her thoughts back. "Of course. As you can see, my business with Preslie is doing rather well. And I'm sure you heard Breslie; we're planning to expand our shop. Things will only get busier from there."
For some reason, she deliberately showed Sheldon she was well and happy. Even she didn't realize deep down; she actually wanted him to know she was doing well.
After he drove her out of Nashaland, she did not let herself wallow in pain but made something for herself instead and was now living her dream.
