Chapter 6
I smiled down at Angus as he cuddled into my chest as we laid on my bed. It was something we started to do on the days we used to meet at the door. We met up and napped together, it was some of the best sleep I had ever gotten.
I quickly shut my eyes as he started to stir awake. I felt his head lift off my chest and I heard him sigh happily. He gently placed a hand on my cheek causing me to slowly open my eyes and nuzzle into his hand.
“I’m sorry,” I said sadly.
“What for?” He asked, confused. “You haven’t done anything to apologize for.”
“Yes, I have. I made you wait longer than you needed to. I was a coward and I was scared. I blamed you for my poor relationship with Oliver. When it wasn’t your fault at all, I don’t know why we met when we did, maybe it was a twisted thing the Moon Goddess wanted to pull on us. But it’s not something that either of us can change. I shouldn’t dwell on the past, dreaming about how I would’ve grown up if we met later.” Angus stared at me with wide eyes, a smile grew on his face as I said. “I won’t lie and say I’m ready for everything our relationship is going to bring, but I am willing to work on it with you.”
Angus threw himself back onto me and wrapped his arm around my neck. I smiled as I wrapped mine around his middle. It would take a lot to get used to how small he was. He pulled away and looked at me with a red face.
“I-I understand if this is too much too soon. But do you think it’d be alright for me to kiss you?” He asked nervously while he played with his hands.
I smiled at him, he was truly so sweet, it was so hard for me to think that there was ever a time that I didn’t want to know him. I gently put a hand on his cheek and ran my thumb over his cheek bone fondly. I nodded slightly and pulled him closer to me, but stopped just when our lips were about to touch. “Kiss me,” I whispered.
He closed his eyes and leaned forward until our lips touched. It was like nothing I had ever felt before. His lips were soft against mine as he slowly began to move them against my own. I closed my eyes and moved my hands to his waist, shifting so I sat up with him in my lap.
We kissed for what felt like hours until I felt like my lungs were going to burst. I pulled away and took a deep breath in. “Were you not breathing through your nose?” He asked as he giggled with a red face.
My cheeks grew red and I looked away from him, “I forgot,”
I felt his hand on my cheek, he moved my face so we were looking at each other again. His eyes were hooded and he bit his lip. “I-i guess that just means you need more practice.”
I grinned and started to turn us so he laid under me but he stopped my movements. “Wait, my wings.” He said, causing me to look behind him at his thin, light blue wings. “They are really fragile, so it’s safer this way.”
I nodded and leaned back against the headboard and pulled him so our bodies were pressed together. “Got it. So, do you still want to practice?” I asked as I rubbed his sides gently.
“Felix, you know how your Dad feels about you- ah!” Mom shouted as he opened my bedroom door without warning, he quickly covered his eyes when he saw Angus on top of me. I shouted in surprise and Angus jumped off of me and flew to the ceiling.
“Mom!” I shouted in embarrassment.
