Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Giselle happened to hear Kevin Rogers‘ roar coming out of the president’s office as soon as she arrived at the company. “When on earth can we cooperate with Pino Capital?”
“We’ve been trying to make an appointment for a month! They didn’t even give us a chance to negotiate with them!”
Kevin’s query was followed by Mickey’s slightly dissatisfied complaint. “I had treated the employees of their investment department to dinner several times, and they all agreed to help us. But in the end…
“You’re too inefficient! You have to get this cooperation as soon as possible!”
Kevin had been on a business trip. But as soon as he returned, the first thing he did was ask Mickey to come to his office and scold him.
Jenny paced anxiously outside the president’s office. When Mickey came out, she jumped into his arms and asked, “Are you okay?”
Mickey’s face was livid. He replied, “Yeah. I’m fine.”
The employees hurriedly looked away, fearing that Mickey would vent his anger on them.
However, Giselle stood in the aisle and happened to bump into them.
Jenny glared at Giselle and said, “Giselle, don’t you have anything to do in the morning? How about you take over this cooperation with Pino Capital?”
Giselle didn’t fall into Jenny’s trap. “The commercial department should be responsible for this cooperation. It has nothing to do with our agent department
Mickey was scolded by Kevin and felt humiliated. He felt extremely annoyed when he saw Giselle still so lively and not lovelorn at all.
Mickey said sharply. “Even though it’s not your business, you still work for this company. But I’m sure you’ll never get it done even if you’re in charge of
it”
He vented his anger on Giselle, but she ignored him.
Mickey had told Kevin’s plan to Giselle before they broke up.
Giselle knew that Kevin was eager to cooperate with Pino Capital.
As a venture capital institution with very strong assets, Pino Capital owned shares of many social media platforms and arranged many investments in cultural industries.
To put it bluntly, Pino Capital was rich and willful.
However, such a financial mogul had no interest in small companies with less than millions of dollars of total investment.
Mickey had failed more than once when trying to seek cooperation. Giselle once accompanied Mickey to meet an employee of Pino Capital’s investment department, but no matter how hard they tried to flatter that employee, it was all in vain.
“Mickey, don’t say that. I think Giselle is quite capable. Maybe she can get this job done!”
“Capable? She will definitely screw it up!”
Mickey and Jenny kept mocking Giselle.
Giselle remained calm and was about to go back to her desk.
But before she walked away, Jenny reminded her with a strange tone, “Oh, I forgot to tell you. Your desk has been moved to a new spot”
Giselle looked at Jenny coldly. “What did you say?”
Jenny glanced at Giselle provocatively. “It’s over there.”
The office wasn’t big, and Giselle’s desk had remained in the same spot since her first day of work.
It was right next to the window. When the weather was lovely, Giselle could look at the clouds through the window and enjoy the sunshine.
She loved this spot very much. But now, all her stuff was packed up and thrown on the desk next to the bathroom.
Nobody had ever wanted that desk.
Jenny crossed her arms and said pretentiously, “Don’t you know? Due to the staff change, everyone has a new spot now.”
Giselle sneered and thought, “Bullshit! Only I got the worst spot!”
She ignored Jenny and went to find the administrative staff. “Why didn’t you tell me about my desk?”
The staff member explained in embarrassment, “Sorry… I forgot to tell you yesterday, but Jenny wants your spot.”
Chapter 9
Giselle was immediately irritated.
She was the vice director of the department, but now everyone bullied her at will and never cared about her dignity.
“I disagree.” Giselle clenched her fists, wanting to save her pride.
But Mickey reprimanded her ruthlessly. “Do you think it’s up to you? How dare you disobey the company’s arrangement?”
“Giselle, if you really want this spot, you can have it back.” Jenny pretended to be pitiful and said, “But I want this spot because I’ll become a member of the agent department soon.”
Then, Jenny continued, “But I’m just a newcomer and still have much to learn. So I think I should sit closer to other colleagues.”
Jenny blinked innocently and asked, “You’re much more experienced than I am. You won’t quarrel with me over a desk, will you?”
The other employees in the agent department lowered their heads and dared not speak.
Giselle knew what Jenny was up to. She raised her eyebrows and asked, “Are you coming to the agent department? Agreed by whom?”
“By Mr. Baker, of course!”
Tyler Baker was the director of the agent department. He was still on vacation. Giselle was his subordinate and had to follow his order.
“Fine! As long as you believe that you’re capable enough to handle the work of the agent department!” said Giselle.
“Then I guess I can have your spot? It’s all for my work, you know.”
Everyone knew Jenny was pretending to be weak, but Giselle couldn’t refuse her request.
She had no choice but to walk toward the desk that nobody wanted.
Jenny smiled smugly and said, “Thank you, Giselle!”
Giselle felt angry while looking at the mess on her new table. However, she could only keep calm and gradually tidied it up.
It seemed that everyone was trying to kick her out of the company now.
However, Giselle would never let them get what they wanted.
Even if she was no longer Mickey’s girlfriend, she still had every right to stay in this company. After all, Giselle became the vice director of the agent department because she was capable, not because of Mickey.
Giselle was determined to show everyone that she would never give in.
After cleaning up the mess, Giselle sat down and took a deep breath. She forced herself to calm down and started to deal with today’s work..
While Giselle was working hard, Jenny came over in high heels complacently. “Giselle, give me a copy of your media list and their contact information. I will make an exclusive interview with our artists in a few days”
Jenny mentioned artists, but the so–called artists were just Internet celebrities. Most of them didn’t make money the same way as normal celebrities. so there was no need to do an exclusive interview.
And the most ridiculous thing was that Jenny had actually asked Giselle for a media list.
Giselle refused mercilessly. “The mission is yours, so you should contact the media and make your own list.”
Jenny asked, “It’s just a list. Why don’t you want to give it to me? Are you afraid that I might do better than you?”
“Jenny! What’s wrong with you? This media list is my interpersonal resource. Why should I give it to you?”
Giselle couldn’t hold back her anger anymore.
Seeing that Giselle had lost her temper, Jenny felt aggrieved instead of scared. “But Mr. Baker told me I can come to you if I need to ask about something…
Mickey also came over to protect Jenny. “It’s just a few lists! So what if you give them to Jenny? I also gave many of them to you back then!”
“Do you mean those media who had never heard of our Domino Media? It was me who spent every effort to contact them and made them willing to cooperate with us!”
Mickey didn’t seem to care. “So why didn’t you let Jenny have them? She needs them for work! We’re talking about business. Don’t be so willful!”
Mickey’s words made Jenny’s behavior sound reasonable. Giselle had no choice but to suppress her anger.
She sent the media list to Jenny. “There you go!”
When Giselle couldn’t feel more aggrieved, she received a new message: [What do you have for lunch?]
it was from Hymes
Chapter 9
[Nothing. I don’t have any appetite.]
Hymes directly called Giselle. “What’s wrong? Why don’t you want to have lunch?”
His concerned tone softened her heart, and she almost cried out.
Giselle found a quiet spot and told Hymes about what had happened. “Actually, I knew this would happen. It’s not a big deal. I’m going back to work. now. See you tonight.”
After talking with Hymes, Giselle felt much better.
Pino Capital.
Hymes slammed his phone on the table after hanging up.
His face was frosty.
“How dare you bully my woman…”
Then, Hymes sneered and said, “Leo, you know what to do.”
Leo Mint, Hymes‘ secretary, nodded repeatedly. “Of course, sir.“”
