Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Giselle thought she had seen it wrong because Hymes soon seemed as if nothing had happened. He even got down to business “You told me today that I can move into your apartment, right?”
“True” replied Giselle.
*Then may I move in tonight?”
“Tonight?” Giselle was caught off guard by Hymes sudden request. She had planned that they could live together someday, but today was definitely
not that day
Having detected Giselle’s resistance, Hymes suddenly sighed and said, “My landlord asked me to move out within a week. He’s getting married and wants to take back this apartment. I’ve been searching for a new apartment during these days when you were on your business trip, but I failed to find
a suitable one.”
Then, Hymes paused and smiled carelessly. “But… it’s okay. If I can’t move in, I guess I can put up with staying somewhere else.”
Giselle felt rather distressed when such a tough guy said these words helplessly.
She nodded and agreed before she could even realize what she had done. “No problem! You can move in tonight!”
An hour later, Hymes entered Giselle’s apartment with two suitcases.
Giselle was still in a daze, thinking. “How is this happening?”
She had always lived alone, but now she even accepted living together with a man. More surprisingly, this man was her newlywed husband!
Giselle shook off these thoughts and said to Hymes, “This is the living room, and it can also be a bedroom. You can only sleep on the couch tonight. I’l pick a bed for you online, and it will be delivered by tomorrow.”
Hymes gaze swept over this apartment full of feminity. Then, he said slightly hoarsely, “Thank you.”
“There’s no need to thank me. But I have to tidy up the room first. It’s a bit messy…
Giselle didn’t expect Hymes to move in today, so she hadn’t tidied up the room, and a lot of clothes were piled on the sofa.
Hymes came up to Giselle when she was about to start cleaning “Do you need my help?”
“No… No need!” Giselle hastily wrapped everything on the sofa into a large ball and was about to carry it upstairs.
As soon as she took a step, her bra dropped to the floor.
It was black, laced, with an impressive size….
“Haha” Giselle blushed. She instantly bent over, picked it up, and rushed upstairs without looking back.
Hymes stared at her hasty back and smiled secretly.
He didn’t expect to live together with Giselle soon after they got married. It seemed that he had to thank her ex for dumping her
Giselle didn’t show up until she calmed down. Then, she showed Hymes around the first floor and introduced the layout. “Well, i don’t have any rules, so you can do whatever you want and make yourself at home.”
Hymes stood in the middle of the living room. His height seemed to make this tiny duplex shrink.
Giselle thought this duplex was big enough for her. But now, the apartment seemed to become much smaller with Hymes existence.
She wanted to say something more but was too tired to think
Hymes seemed to have seen her through. He looked at her gently and said, “You’re probably sleepy. Go to bed. We can talk about the rest tomorrow.”
“Okay Good night.”
Giselle yawned and went upstairs
Because Hymes was in the house, Giselle could only cancel her usual voice–only live broadcast before bed.
She had never told anyone that she was also an online streamer who helped others by putting them to sleep with her voice. Sometimes, she would start a live stream and help those who suffered from sleeplessness.
Giselle announced under her account that there would be no live stream tonight. She felt a bit reluctant because she would make less money. Besides, she didn’t know whether that loyal fan of hers could sleep soundly tonight.
Giselle kept thinking and soon fell asleep.
Hymes lay on the sofa, which seemed too narrow for him. He had nowhere to rest his leg, so he could only curl them up.
Chapter 9
Although Hymes felt extremely uncomfortable, the smile on his face had never faded as long as he thought about the woman upstairs.
Both of them slept soundlessly.
The next morning.
Giselle was awakened by her alarm clock. She was still so sleepy that she even forgot someone else was in her apartment.
A tempting scent of breakfast came into the room and caught her attention. Then, Giselle squinted her eyes and went downstairs.
Halfway through the stairs, she saw the man standing in the semi–opened kitchen, greeting her, “Good morning.”
Hymes was wearing a simple shirt, and his voice was filled with a unique hoarseness of the morning. With a bit of greyish stubble on his chin, he couldn’t seem any sexier.
Giselle suddenly came back to her senses.
She was so shocked that she couldn’t stand still. Then, Giselle stumbled and was about to fall to the ground.
She didn’t know how Hymes could react so quickly. But before she hit the floor, Hymes had rushed up to her and held her waist tightly.
Then, Hymes pulled Giselle closer to his chest and asked nervously, “Are you okay?”
“Yeah… I’m fine.” Giselle shook her head in a daze, then realized her hand was resting on his chest.
“It… feels pretty good,” she thought.
Then, Giselle finally came back to her senses and pushed Hymes away, her face as red as a cooked lobster. “I… I’ll go freshen up!”
Hymes smiled secretly, still enjoying the aftertaste of hugging Giselle after going back to the kitchen.
“Her waist is so slender,” he thought.
After Giselle freshened up, Hymes had already served the breakfast. Although it was quite simple, it was much warmer than the breakfast that she usually bought in a hurry on her way to work.
Hymes asked, “What time do you get to work? Will you be late for work if you go to the company after having breakfast at home?”
Giselle drank the soup and answered, “If I’m not on a business trip or have other arrangements, I’m supposed to arrive at the company at 9 am. It’ll take me half an hour to go there by subway.”
Hymes knew he had to serve breakfast at 8 am so that Giselle wouldn’t be late for work after having breakfast at home.
“Okay. From now on, you can have breakfast at home. You don’t need to eat outside because it’s quite inconvenient.”
Giselle was quite surprised. “Don’t you have to go to work early in the morning?”
Hymes said, “I’ll have plenty of time to prepare breakfast if I wake up earlier.”
Giselle said, “You seem to have enough freedom working at an insurance company. So are we, actually…”
Hymes raised his eyebrows and nodded calmly, “Indeed.”
He knew the truth of his so–called freedom because he had just texted his secretary to inform him that today’s meeting would be postponed for an
hour.
Hymes‘ cooking was simple but surprisingly tasty, and Giselle was very satisfied. She somehow looked forward to such a lovely breakfast every morning.
This expectation seemed to add a new impetus to her daily life.
Giselle left home in time for the subway, so Hymes accompanied her to the subway station. They kept talking along the way, and Giselle felt as if it only took them a few seconds to arrive at the station.
“I’ll take Line 4. What about you?” Giselle asked.
Hymes looked up at the direction sign and said, “I’ll take Line 7.”
Giselle said, “Pity. I have to part with you now. I’ll go this way. See you tonight!”
“See you tonight,” said Hymes.
Giselle smiled and waved at Hymes. Her green dress made her seem even more tempting, making Hymes want to take a bite of her…
Hymes gritted his teeth and came out of the subway station, then quickly got into the black luxury car that had been waiting by the roadside..
Seeing that Hymes was in a good mood, Leo plucked up his courage and teased Hymes. “How do you feel about your first subway station experience?”
“Very noisy,” replied Hymes.
Chapter 9
The subway station was too crowded. Hymes was thinking about when he could come up with a reasonable idea to drive Giselle to work every day.
“Sir, by the way, Mickey Blake of Domino Media once again made an appointment with the director of our investment department. I haven’t agreed yet. The investment department is still waiting for my permission.”
Leo reported while handing over a tic. Hymes took it and tied it rapidly, then said mockingly. “Keep him waiting. Let him believe he can get a chance, but he can only be disappointed.”
“Yes, sir!”
Leo secretly felt sorry for Domino Media’s future…
