Chapter 65
Chapter 65
Giselle’s brow furrowed as she stared directly at Jenny’s hostile gaze. “What nonsense are you talking about? Is your cold making your head foggy?”
Jenny, furious, took a step forward. “You still want to deny it! You deliberately took advantage of my absence from the company to go and talk business with Mickey, aren’t you trying to steal him away?”
Hearing her say this, Giselle glanced at the other people in the office.
She knew someone had informed Jenny about this, and it seemed that after Jenny’s former confidant, Helen, was fired, Jenny quickly found a new sidekick in the company.
Reporting all sorts of situations in the company to her.
Giselle found it ridiculous. Did everyone really think of Mickey as their precious treasure?
Giselle certainly didn’t think it was necessary.
“Jenny… what you’re saying is completely untrue!” Of course, Mickey couldn’t admit to having any involvement with Giselle. He reached out to pull Jenny but was stopped by her hand.
At this moment, Jenny’s face was still a bit pale, and she didn’t look well. It seemed that she really had a cold and was resting at home.
Still, she complained in a more coarse voice than before, “Don’t talk, I’m furious right now! You could have asked anyone else, but you chose Giselle… Are you still not over her?”
Being questioned in public, Mickey explained with an unhappy face, “I’ve already moved on from her. How could that be possible? You’re sick. Don’t get agitated. Let’s talk about this when we get home, alright?”
“No! We’ll talk about it now! Giselle, tell me, what do you want in order for you to leave the company?”
Jenny breathed heavily through her nose, her eyes reddening, but her tone was still domineering. “What do you want? Money or resources? I can give you whatever I can!”
Giselle laughed nonchalantly. “Just because you treat him as a treasure doesn’t mean everyone else has to. To me, he’s nothing more than my current boss, with no special status.
“As for today’s business talk, if it weren’t for me, Pino Capital probably wouldn’t have agreed to continue negotiating with us. So him bringing me along is a blessing, not me pestering him, understand?”
After listening to Giselle, Jenny’s face contorted with anger as she cursed, “How is that possible? Pino Capital agreed to cooperate with us because of you? Who do you think you are, not even bothering to take a look at yourself to see if you’re
worth it!”
“Enough.” Mickey’s tone became stern. “Stop it, Giselle isn’t wrong about this.”
He didn’t want to admit it, but it was the truth. If they continued arguing, Kevin would have to step in and things would get even more complicated.
But Jenny acted like a victim. “You’re angry at me? You’re getting mad at me for her?”
“Alright, alright.” Mickey softened his tone and tried to appease Jenny. “I just want you to calm down quickly…”
Jenny was relentless, still wanting to cause trouble for Giselle, when suddenly a middle–aged woman hurried into the office from outside.
She was dressed extravagantly, covered in gold and silver jewelry, almost blinding people with her flashy appearance.
Upon entering, she said anxiously, “Jenny, the doctor said you can’t run around like this. Hurry up and come home with me

to rest…
The woman was Jenny’s mother.
In the office, employees had various expressions on their faces as they closely observed the well–rounded, wealthy lady.
Just the large jade ring on her finger was enough to show the extent of the Clarks family’s wealth.

Upon hearing her mother’s voice, Jenny stamped her foot and complained, “Mom! She’s still after Mickey and won’t leave us
alone!”
As soon as Jenny’s mother heard her daughter’s grievances, she immediately glared at Giselle with anger. “Are you bullying Jenny and trying to steal her boyfriend?”
You better not…”
Jenny’s mother suddenly stopped speaking, her eyes revealing a myriad of complex emotions.
Jenny’s attention was entirely focused on Giselle, unaware of her mother’s reaction, and she continued to rant. “Giselle, stop bothering us. I knew your marriage was a sham, and you’re just staying at the company to win Mickey back…”
Mickey felt annoyed, clearly thinking Jenny was making a fuss about nothing, but couldn’t bring himself to scold her.
Seeing her mother arrive, he thought he should make a good impression on his future mother–in–law.
Just as he was about to stand by Jenny’s side and badmouth Giselle, Jenny’s mother suddenly changed her attitude. “Jenny, why bother with someone like her? Don’t lower your standard.”
“Mom?”
“Go home with me and get some rest. We’ll deal with this later when you’re feeling better!”
Jenny was dumbfounded. “Mom, what are you doing…”
Giselle subtly curled her lip.
Coincidentally, the middle–aged woman she encountered today was the wealthy lady she had met at the mall on the day she married Hymes.
That woman had lost a bet to Hymes and had fled in embarrassment.
She probably didn’t want Giselle to reveal how humiliating that day was, so she was eager to leave with Jenny.
Giselle didn’t expose the secret and watched leisurely as Amy reluctantly dragged Jenny away.
Even Mickey was puzzled, not understanding what was happening.
After they left, Giselle coldly said, “The show is over, everyone. And to whoever was secretly stirring up trouble… good luck.”
Giselle didn’t plan to track down these people, as they were hiding in the shadows and not easily found.
But she had to be cautious of those who were secretly stabbing behind her back.
So in the future, Giselle would have to be even more careful at the company.
Fortunately, her unexpected gain at Pino Capital gave her more confidence and leverage, even though she didn’t know why it happened.
Mickey looked at Giselle’s retreating figure, wanting to say something, but in the end, he couldn’t say anything and left with algloomy expression.
Chapter 65
Before Giselle left work, a storm was already brewing outside.
The weather forecast predicted a brief period of heavy rain, thunder, and hail.
It was common to see such weather in the summer, and her colleagues began to worry.
“Oh my! I didn’t bring an umbrella!”
“We’d better hurry to the subway station after work!”
“I wish I had a boyfriend right now…”
As everyone worried, Giselle remained calm.
Because she had just received a message from Hymes.
[It’s about to rain. I’m coming to pick you up.]
It was as if a firefly suddenly lit up in the darkness, and for the first time, Gisel
