Chapter 6
Chapter 6
When Giselle couldn’t hold back her rage anymore, Hymes suddenly held her hand.
Then, his fingers entangled with hers.
Being covered by his warmness, Giselle felt she was treasured greatly, which was a feeling that she had never had.
Even when she was dating Mickey, he had never been so gentle to her.
Hymes had calmed down when Giselle was still in a daze. Then, he said with an oppressive aura, “Mr. Mickey Blake, I’ve taken down every humiliation and abuse that you let my wife suffer just now”
Hymes‘ chiseled face was covered with terrifying coldness. “As you said, I’m probably not as well–educated and superior as you. But since I’m a tough guy, I prefer solving every problem with my toughness.”
A chill rushed up Mickey’s spine when he heard Hymes‘ words. Thinking about how he almost embarrassed himself when he tried to embarrass Hymes by shaking his hand, Mickey couldn’t help but feel scared.
Hymes was almost 6 feet 2 inches tall, with broad shoulders that made him appear like a towering hill. The muscles under his suit bulged with strength, displaying a perfectly defined outline.
A trace of indifferent fierceness also lingered between Hymes‘ thick eyebrows.
Mickey seriously doubted whether Hymes was actually an insurance salesperson. After all, Hymes‘ gangster look made him seem more like a terrorist.
Now, Mickey finally realized that Hymes‘ politeness was just his mask.
“Are you threatening us? Your toughness means nothing to my boyfriend and me. If you dare to hurt us, we’ll definitely make you pay…”
Jenny had already provoked Hymes boldly while Mickey was still hesitating
Jenny was not afraid of Hymes because her family always had her back. However, Mickey was so scared that he even wanted to escape.
He didn’t want anyone to see through his fear, so he pretended to be generous and said, “Since Giselle is my ex, I won’t argue with you. But remember, never come to mess with me again!”
“Mickey, he actually threatened you! You can’t let him go…”
Jenny was unwilling to leave, but Mickey ignored her protest and hurriedly dragged her out of the restaurant.
Giselle could still hear Jenny’s non–stop clamor coming from far away. “What are you doing? Why did you leave? Do you still have feelings for her? Mickey…”
After Mickey and Jenny disappeared, Hymes hooked his lips disdainfully. His eyes became gentle again when he looked down at Giselle. “Ignore them. Would you like something more to eat?”
Giselle didn’t know why Mickey suddenly let them go, but she felt relieved that this conflict hadn’t worsened.
However, Giselle’s appetite had been ruined. She shook her head and said, “No, I’m full, I’ll treat you to dinner again next time.”
“Okay” Hymes nodded and agreed. Then, he called the waiter over to pay the bill.
Fortunately, there weren’t many guests eating in this restaurant today. Otherwise, a lot of people would witness their quarrel just now.
Gizelle was just about to pay the bill, but Hymes had already taken out his bank card. “I’ll pay.”
Giselle hurriedly stopped him. “Hymes, what are you doing? I told you I would treat you…”
“I can’t let my wife pay for our first meal after getting married.”
Hymes asked the waiter to charge his card determinedly. Then, he told Giselle, “You can pay the bill next time.”
Thinking that they would have countless chances to eat out in the future, Giselle agreed and said, “Okay, it’s a deal!”
The waiter glanced at them repeatedly and blessed them, “Happy wedding!”
Giselle blushed for no reason, even though she knew both of them were just taking advantage of their marriage.
This restaurant was in the bustling downtown. Giselle and Hymes saw a shopping center next to it as soon as they went outside.
Giselle wanted to take a taxi to go home, but Hymes suddenly said, “Shall we go to the mall?”
“What?” Giselle asked.
“It’s still early. You may feel bored if you go home right now.”
Giselle thought that Hymes was complicated and weird.
Chapter 5
He had a strong aura and a stern look, but his tone was gentle whenever he talked to her.
His voice was as mellow and attractive as wine, coupled with his gorgeous appearance, making it difficult for Giselle to refuse his request.
Therefore, Giselle somehow agreed and followed Hymes into the mall.
But she regretted her decision after they went inside because this mall was the most upscale in Reywing.
All the salespersons of those luxurious brands seemed very arrogant. Whenever someone walked by, the salespersons would scan everyone from head to toe to find out whether they were capable of making a purchase.
Giselle had a decent salary but also spent a lot on daily use. Besides, her parents were not well–off.
Therefore, she would only come to this mall when she needed something luxurious to integrate with the others in the workplace.
And usually, this was a place that Giselle didn’t dare to come in.
“Hymes, maybe we should go back.”
Giselle feared that she couldn’t restrain her desire to buy something. If she did, her hard–earned salary would be wasted.
Hymes looked down at her and said, “Not yet.”
He sounded extremely calm. If Giselle hadn’t known about Hymes‘ background and occupation, she might doubt that he was the son of a wealthy family who often came here to squander.
Giselle was thinking about how to persuade Hymes to leave. However, while she was in a daze, Hymes took her hand and led her into the jewelry store aside.
The salespersons weren’t very warmhearted. Giselle also noticed that their gazes had scanned her bag and clothes,
“How may I help you? Are you looking for diamond rings or other kinds of jewelry?”
Fortunately, the salesperson who greeted them was still polite enough. Giselle smiled at her and said, “We’re just looking around.”
“No problem. If you need something, I can offer my recommendation.”
Soon, the salesperson walked away to serve other guests.
Hymes took Giselle to a counter full of diamond rings and asked, “Do you like these? Pick one.”
Giselle’s eyes widened, and she said quietly, “Are you crazy? Do you know how much a ring of this brand costs?”
Hymes watched those diamond rings glitter under the light, picturing how they would look after being put on Giselle’s fair fingers. Then, he asked indifferently, “How much?“.
Giselle gritted her teeth and said, “Even the cheapest one is worth thousands of dollars!”
She didn’t know whether Hymes‘ taste was too good or too poor, for the brand he had randomly chosen was both well–known and extremely
expensive.
It was so pricy that Giselle had never dreamed of buying any of its products.
“Okay. So do you like them?”
Hymes ignored Giselle’s words and rubbed her hand softly. “I’ll buy you one.”
Giselle exclaimed, “Hymes, it’s too expensive!”
She was about to drag Hymes out of the store when a customer suddenly said disdainfully to a salesperson while selecting jewelry, “I have to praise your service attitude. You even let the poor come inside to look around”
