Chapter 58
Chapter 58
Hymes did something for Giselle that she never thought he would do, giving her a strong sense of security.
Although Giselle didn’t mind if other women sat in the passenger seat of Hymes‘ car, she felt respected and cared for by Hymes thoughtful actions.
Hymes always considered her and her role as his wife, no matter the situation.
Giselle couldn’t help but think back to when she was dating Mickey, who used to fantasize about what kind of car he would buy in the future, the make and model, and he even planned to take everyone for a spin.
Mickey never seemed to have this level of consideration.
Although Giselle never cared about it, she now saw the difference between people.
It was clear whether Mickey pursued her for pure affection or because having her as a girlfriend looked good.
But Hymes was different. Everything he did was based on their relationship and caring for Giselle.
Giselle’s heart leaped with joy, and her lips curved into a smile. She glanced at Hymes, making sure he was serious, followed his suggestion, placing the sticker on the front of the passenger seat.
and
Anyone who wanted to sit in the passenger seat could see the sticker clearly, reminding them that this seat was exclusively
for Giselle.
While Hymes drove, Giselle secretly texted Kila to tell her what had happened.
Kila responded with several exclamation points: [OMG!!! Your husband is so good at this!!!]
[Right? I think so too… Does he have a lot of experience?]
Giselle felt that an inexperienced man wouldn’t be so attentive to such a small detail.
But Hymes did it so naturally and without hesitation, making her wonder if he was an expert hiding in plain sight.
Kila replied: [I don’t think so. Hymes seems reliable. But keep an eye on him, just to be safe.]
Kila continued: [Of course, with a husband like that, even if you’re deceived, it’s worth it.]
[Stop it… I don’t want to be deceived.]
Giselle put her phone away and sneakily glanced at Hymes.
His sharp features gave him an air of rugged masculinity.
Hymes would not deceive Giselle, right?
With such good looks, he could have any woman he wanted.
All Hymes had to do was snap his fingers, and countless women would flock to him. He didn’t even need to pursue anyone, and they would come to him.
So, his attentiveness likely meant that he cared for her.
Hymes must be satisfied with Giselle as his wife, or he wouldn’t have married her.
Both of them had to be content with each other to make the decision to marry so quickly. Otherwise, he could have chosen. someone else…
Chapter 58
Giselle became even more determined to cultivate their relationship.
After all, a handsome man with no bad habits, a strong work ethic, good cooking skills, and a gentlemanly demeanor…
Such men were almost extinct in today’s society,
Giselle felt like she had found a treasure. The odds were similar to winning the lottery, and as Kila said, at least, Giselle wouldn’t lose out.
At the barbecue restaurant, Giselle ordered a variety of food.
Although Hymes said he had no dietary restrictions, Giselle deduced from their recent meals together that he probably didn’t enjoy spicy food as much.
So, she ordered non–spicy food for him.
“I haven’t had barbecues in days, and now I can finally taste my favorite flavors!”
Giselle heaped a lot of hot pepper on her food and smiled contentedly.
As the barbecue smoke swirled around her, her face was veiled in a misty haze. Perhaps it was because the food was so spicy that her lips turned an even more vibrant red, and even the corners of her eyes seemed to take on an alluring hue.
Giselle stuck out her tongue. “Wow, it’s really spicy. This is one of my and Kila’s must–visit spots. Too bad she couldn’t make it tonight…”
Hymes cautioned in a deep voice, “Don’t eat too much spicy food. Your stomach might not handle it well.”
Lately, Hymes had been cooking dishes that suited Giselle’s taste, but they were milder, so her stomach had adapted to lighter fare. Now, suddenly indulging in barbecue…
Hymes was worried she might not be able to handle it and spoke up.
But Giselle brushed it off. “It’s fine! In college, Kila and I could eat spicy food for a whole week without any discomfort!”
Hymes chuckled. “That was when you were younger, so it didn’t matter.”
“I’m not old now, okay?” Giselle pouted at Hymes. “Are you saying I’m already old?”
“Of course not. In my eyes, you’ll always look young.”
“You’re such a sweet–talker. Who taught you these lines, or are all insurance professionals just naturally sweet talkers?”
Hymes smiled faintly. “Only for you.”
Giselle didn’t believe him and continued to complain while dipping her skewers into hot sauce. “Do you have a lot of female clients? They must be easily swayed by your handsome face, huh?”
Using one’s physical appearance to one’s advantage wasn’t wrong, just as Giselle would flaunt her beauty during negotiations, which would create advantages for her in certain situations.
It was human nature, and there was nothing to shy away from.
But Bymes didn’t admit to it, simply saying, “It’s not a big deal.”
Those who worked with him wouldn’t collaborate with him because of his looks. They were more concerned with objective benefits.
Giselle muttered softly, “You’re just trying to appease me… thinking I won’t expose you…”
Hymes stared at Giselle for a long time before abruptly asking, “What were your requirements for a partner before?”
apter
Giselle was surprised by his question but answered truthfully. “A good match in terms of social status.”
“It’s very important, Giselle emphasized. “Only when two people of equal social status are together will their lives be more compatible.”
“There will be fewer disputes, whether it’s about financial conditions, family background, or life experiences. These should all be equally matched.”
She said this without hesitation because she had once shared these thoughts on her Twitter.
At that time, she had been inspired by a related trending topic.
She didn’t expect Hymes to ask her about it today, so she told him what she had said back then.
This had always been Giselle’s perspective.
After she finished speaking. Hymes‘ expression across the table gradually dimmed…
