Chapter 20 

Giselle guessed that Drago didn’t dare to continue the war because he didn’t know how rich Xeno was 

Xeno had spent so much money in just a few minutes. Giselle even thought she would make enough money to buy a new house just tonight if Drago was 

brave enough. 

A house in a good area in Reywing cost at least one million dollars, and it would cost even more if Giselle bought a house in the downtown area. 

Giselle knew she would never be able to afford a house in the downtown area. She would be satisfied if she could buy a house near the downtown area. 

But she needed at least 300,000 dollars for the down payment, which was a reachless dream for most young people struggling for a living in Reywing. 

But tonight, Giselle got much closer to the goal. 

Xeno’s sentences were always brief. He texted some words before he disappeared. [Everyone must listen to Gill here. Those who wanna make trouble should win me first.] 

Giselle wanted to pacify the atmosphere as soon as possible, so she didn’t talk about this matter anymore. 

The room finally returned to peace. 

After Giselle signed off at twelve o’clock at night, she sent Xeno a private message after hesitating for a long time. 

It was the first message Giselle had ever sent to Xeno. [I think I should give you the money back. Please send me a bank account. I’ll return the money to you after the platform takes the share.] 

Xeno didn’t reply to Giselle’s message. Perhaps he had fallen asleep. 

Giselle sighed and had to talk to Xeno the next day.

Giselle couldn’t help thinking of Hymes sleeping downstairs when she thought of Xeno’s style of spending money.

Hymes cooked breakfast as usual. When Giselle went downstairs, Hymes looked her up and down. 

Hymes asked worriedly, “Didn’t you sleep well last night?” 

Giselle answered, “No.” 

“What happened? 

“Nothing.” 

It was hard to explain it, so Giselle had to keep it a secret. 

Fortunately, Hymes didn’t ask more. 

Giselle was in a complicated mood today. She put on a blue dress and tucked her hair up. 

To cover the dark circles, Giselle put on heavy makeup, which made her look more attractive.

Hymes tried so hard to withdraw his gaze. He said to Giselle after putting the plate on the table, “You should sleep earlier.” 

“I get it. I will sleep earlier tonight.” 

“Hymes, you…” When Giselle was hesitant about something, Hymes gazed at her. 

Giselle swallowed her words and said, “Nothing. Do you have time tonight? One of my friends is back from a business trip. Would you like to have dinner 

with us?” 

There was a smile in Hymes‘ deep eyes. “Great.” 

Hymes was happy to meet Giselle’s friends, because it meant that he would get closer to her world. 

After breakfast, they were about to go out when Hymes suddenly fixed his eyes on Giselle’s fingers. 

Giselle was confused. She asked, “What’s wrong?” 

“Why don’t you put on the ring?” 

“It’s so expensive. Forget it. What if I lose it?” 

The ring was made by a worldwide famous brand with a huge diamond. It was eye–catching. 

Of course, most people wouldn’t believe Giselle was wearing such an expensive ring. They would think it was fake. 

In a hoarse and attractive voice, Hymes said, “You should put it on, since we have bought it. Don’t let it be covered with dust.” 

“But…” 

Giselle wanted to refuse, but she met Hymes‘ dangerous eyes as aggressive as a beast’s. 

His eyes changed immediately, but Giselle still shivered in fear. 

She thought she had an illusion. 

“Put it on. You won’t lose it if you are careful enough. It’s not safe to leave it at home.” 

Hymes said, “I bought it for you. If you don’t wear it, you’d better throw it away.” 

Hymes‘ serious tone showed his bad mood. 

Giselle realized that Hymes got angry because she had refused him many times. 

To make peace with Hymes, Giselle had to agree, “Alright. I will wear it today. But if it troubles me in the company, I will leave it at home and put it on 

when I have to, OK?” 

Giselle blinked her eyes and tried to persuade Hymes in a soft voice. 

Her efforts worked, and Hymes changed his mind. 

Hymes sighed telplessly and finally gave in, “Alright. Have a try today.” 

Giselle was sure that the expensive ring would trouble her in the workplace, so she would make an excuse tomorrow and leave it at home. 

She went upstairs to take the ring and then put it on. 

The ring made her slender and fair fingers more eye–catching- 

When Giselle went downstairs, Hymes saw the bright ring on her fingers and smiled with satisfaction. 

Looking at the smile on Hymes‘ face, Giselle decided to wear the ring today to make him happy.

When Giselle got to the company, she received a lot of praise again.

Giselle was too beautiful. Most men would feel a sense of inferiority when they saw her. They didn’t think they deserved to be with such a gorgeous beauty.

There was such a bright ring on Giselle’s finger, which made those men understand Giselle was already married. 

It happened to be Friday. Mickey and Jenny told their colleagues in the office that they would hold a party after work in the Joyland Hotel which was the industry of Jenny’s family. 

When Giselle came into the office, the colleagues were all talking about the party. Giselle’s appearance attracted everyone’s attention. 

Jenny was jealous when she found that Mickey was also looking at Giselle. She invited Giselle with a fake smile, “Will you take your husband to join us?”
