Chapter 17
Chapter 17
“A discount? But it still costs at least 1,400 dollars, doesn’t it? You pay for quality. That’s already the best discount.”
Giselle was a little worried after hearing the worker’s words.
Hymes was so prodigall
Giselle thought it was time to teach Hymes something about thrift.
Before they got married, Hymes had promised they had the independence of their own property.
But it was tiring to sell insurance. Hymes shouldn’t have wasted money like that.
The worker installed the air conditioner and then left. Hymes came back soon when Giselle was cleaning the house.
Hymes had unbuttoned his collar, rolled up his sleeves, and tucked his shirt into his trousers.
He was tall and elegant.
He had muscle but didn’t look heavyset. He had a perfect shape than models.
Giselle gasped subconsciously, realizing that she was going to be enchanted by Hymes‘ charm.
Giselle tried to wake herself up and then pulled a long face. “Hymes, we need to talk.”
She looked so serious.
Hymes was a little upset. He clenched his fists with his nails pinching his palms.
“What’s it?”
Hymes closed the door. His voice was calm, but in fact, he was in a panic.
He didn’t know if Giselle wanted to divorce him.
Was it because of the man today?
It should be the man who had a crush on her.
Hymes‘ eyes were burning with anxiety.
Giselle didn’t notice the strange emotions in Hymes‘ eyes. She sent the cleaning tools back to the bathroom. Then she went back and talked to Hymes seriously.
“Hymes, I think you have made a big mistake!”
Hymes was stunned. “What mistake?”
“I don’t know your salary in the insurance company, but I’m very clear that your job is not steady and quite hard. It’s not easy for you to make some money.
“In that case, you should be thrifty, instead of buying such an expensive air conditioner.”
The anger and anxiety in Hymes‘ eyes disappeared in an instant.
Hymes cleared his throat and explained, “In fact… It’s not expensive.”
“Not expensive?” Giselle just thought it was a waste of money. “It took you at least 1,400 dollars. You should spend the money on something more important.”
Chapter 17
So, it was because of the air conditioner.
Hymes tried not to laugh. He answered seriously, “I just wanna buy you a good one. We will live here for a very long time. A better air conditioner will make our life more comfortable.
“Besides… I didn’t spend 1,400 dollars on it.”
Indeed, he didn’t spend 1,400 dollars, because he bought it without a discount.
But Giselle didn’t know what Hymes meant. She sighed, “We can’t return it back since you have already paid. I’ll pay you half of it.”
Hymes refused, “No. I didn’t pay you for the rent. It’s not a big deal to buy an air conditioner.”
“But I should pay. It’s me who will enjoy the cool air upstairs. You shouldn’t spend money.”
“But I also enjoy the cool air downstairs.”
What Hymes said really made sense. Giselle found it hard to contradict him.
“Have you had a meal yet? I’ll cook.”
Hymes changed the topic and showed Giselle the ingredients he brought back.
With a smile in his eyes, he said gently, “How about steaks, bacon, and prime rib?”
Giselle licked her lips.
Those dishes made her mouth water. Hymes was so amazing.
Giselle couldn’t wait to eat these dishes.
“Hurry up.” Giselle urged Hymes awkwardly. “I’m a little hungry.”
Hymes had wanted to send Giselle lunch at noon, but he was occupied with meeting an important guest.
When Hymes finished the meeting, Giselle had gone to eat fast food with her colleagues.
Mickey was scolded by the boss and failed to sign the contract with Pino Capital, so some of Giselle’s colleagues changed their attitudes toward Giselle.
They were not as indifferent as before.
Giselle didn’t care about their attitudes. It was normal to make different decisions in the workplace. They just did that for a living. Giselle didn’t hate them, as long as they wouldn’t do harm to her.
Giselle only cared if the work could be finished in time. As for personal feelings… She didn’t need such meaningless things at all.
When Hymes cooked, Giselle stayed next to him and watched.
It was enjoyable to watch Hymes cook. Giselle thought it would be awesome if she could watch this every day.
When Hymes finished dinner, the aroma of the dishes made Giselle’s mouth water again.
“Hymes…I just found that you were so humble when we had the blind date. You are indeed good at cooking and even a master of cooking!”
Hymes smiled, “I’m glad you like it.”
Giselle gave Hymes a thumb–up and then finished all the dishes.
After finishing them all, Giselle murmured with regret, “I’ll get fat if you cook delicious food every day.”
Hymes looked at Giselle’s delicate face. He thought Giselle was so cute.
