Chapter 110
Chapter 110
Oscar clicked his tongue. “Shame the girl you liked no longer likes you. There’s no need for you to bother her anymore. right?”
Mickey was furious, and would have kicked Oscar’s ass were it not for Oscar’s family background.
Of course, Hymes heard vaguely about the argument behind him.
He was relieved that someone else was lecturing Mickey.
Soon they arrived at the coffee place nearby, which was usually packed during lunch.
They sat at a table for four, and a waiter brought the menu.
Giselle took the menu and politely asked what they wanted.
Mickey immediately replied, “You know what I like, no different from yours. We have the same taste.”
The nostalgic tone made someone beside Giselle icy cold.
Hymes leaned back, placing one arm on Giselle’s seat, as if he was half–holding her in his arms,
It was as if he was saying, “She is mine. Keep off.”
Hymes raised his eyebrows and said with implication. “People’s tastes change sooner or later. You had to try new ones to realize how disgusting the old one really was.”
Mickey stared at him. “Are you certain that new is always better? Perhaps the old one is more preferable.”
“If that’s the case, then there won’t be any need for changes. Right, honey?”
Giselle saw the darkness in Hymes‘ eyes and the threat in his words, and chuckled. “I’m with you.”
Of course she would side with her husband right now. She wanted nothing to do with the cad sitting across her.
And these two were dining at the same table. That was some sight to behold.
Not many men would want to meet their wives‘ ex. And Giselle had to keep Ilymes. jealousy, no matter what.
and not to make him mad with
Oscar wasn’t picky about tastes either, so Giselle ordered for herself, and handed the menu to Mickey. “I don’t know about your taste, Mr. Blake, and mine has changed a lot. You can order for yourself.”
Mickey almost gritted his teeth broken, hearing Giselle’s unfeeling words. Perhaps this was what they called Karma.
Oscar chuckled beside him. “That is true indeed. What fun is there in holding on to old tastes? Men will always try for something new.”
Mickey was rendered speechless.
At long last, they finally finished ordering and moved on to the next part. But Giselle felt quite exhausted after that clash just
now.
So the best way was to….
“Oscar, are you ready for the rehearsal this afternoon? Did you memorize the lyrics? Do remember to run it over again.”
Oscar nodded. “Okay, I’ll do it, alright…”

“Also, don’t forget to pack your costumes. I’ve mentioned that plenty of times already.”
“Yes, of course. Mom!”
“Can you blame me for that?” Giselle snorted. “You forgot your costumes before, and I had to borrow them on short notice.”
Oscar wasn’t one of those formal celebrities, with assistants and managers around him 21/7; he was Internet celebrity, and had to be more casual.
Hymes watched as Giselle spoke with Oscar, and pressed his tongue against his back teeth.
He would be lying if he said he was not at all jealous of Oscar, but he knew that Giselle would view Oscar as no more than a business partner.
Even jealousy needed boundaries. Otherwise, things could go south fast.
As a mature man, Hymes would never be so childish.
Dishes were still being served. Giselle buried herself in her food and made short work of it to avoid confrontation between Hymes and Mickey.
Fortunately, Mickey was so irritated by Hymes, and was too resentful about him to pick a fight.
And so, the lunch ended peacefully.
The afternoon came, and Giselle was heading for the venue with Oscar. “You said you were here to talk business, Mr. Blake,” she mentioned. “I don’t suppose you’ll be needed this afternoon, yes?”
“I do have other plans this afternoon, Mickey replied grudgingly.
“Good, then. Run along now, Mr. Blake,” said Giselle coldly.
And then she turned to Hymes affectionately, and said in a soft and gentle voice, “I’ll take Oscar to the rehearsal, then. Come see him perform tonight. I’ll grab you a worker’s pass.”
“Sure,” Hymes scratched at Giselle’s nose. “See you tonight.”
Hymes waved as Giselle rode away with Oscar.
Mickey finally cracked. “Don’t get cocky. Giselle must still remember me! We’ve been together for over a year, and she would never forget me so easily!”
Hymes narrowed his eyes as if he heard something hilarious. “What, Mr. Blake? Who did you say remembers you?”
“It’s…”
Hymes took out his phone. “How about this, I’ll call… whatever her name is, from your company, and tell her that her boyfriend is trying to make a move on my wife. Let’s see what she’d think about that.”
Hymes saw right through Mickey–no balls, no guts, and obnoxiously greedy.
He had his mind on Giselle again, yet unwilling to let go, so he must have been doing this behind Jenny’s back.
Sure enough. Mickey cowered the moment Hymes threatened him with his phone. “What nonsense is this? I have other things to do. I’m outta here!”
He scuffled away, with apparent panic in his footsteps.
What an easy picking.
Hymes curtly smiled and shook his head. Had he known this guy. He would have made the move and taken Giselle for his

own sooner.
He should never have allowed Mickey to have her that long.
Giselle’s rehearsal with Oscar went quite well. They didn’t wait very long, and sang along a couple times with the instrumental music. After a few adjustments with positioning and equipment, they returned to the hotel for a break.
They just needed to return to the venue for styling 90 minutes before the big show. Plenty of time for that.
At the same time, Hymes also returned to the hotel to take care of business. He made a last–minute change to his schedule. and he got a lot of work to do.
Hymes was standing by the window and on his phone when Giselle unlocked the door.
He was speaking a foreign language. Very fluently. His graceful and refined tone was mixed with indolence and
attractiveness.
Giselle was stunned. She had no idea his foreign language was that good, and could hardly make out many of them.
They were extremely unfamiliar, much like a vocabulary for experts.
Giselle passed the foreign language test, yet she could hardly make out what Hymes was saying.
As soon as Hymes hung up, he heard Giselle’s puzzled voice behind him. “That was quite some foreign language!”
