Chapter 100
Hymes put the lunch box in front of Giselle, and his grey eyes were full of concern and worry. “Are you okay? I brought some painkillers for you, as well as soup and salad…”
Giselle nodded slowly. She hadn’t recovered from the shock of his sudden appearance yet.
Although she had long been immersed in Hymes‘ kindness and tenderness to her, she never thought that Hymes‘ thoughtfulness could move her to the
point where she wanted to cry.
Seeing Giselle being stunned, Hymes‘ sharp facial features softened, and he raised his hand to pat her on the head, “What’s wrong? Are you starving?”
“No… You, why are you here?”
Giselle’s eyes were full of surprise, and besides that, there were many complicated emotions intertwined in her heart.
Seeing Hymes‘ sudden appearance, Giselle knew that she might not be able to forget what he had done for her in her life.
Hymes smiled and continued to say patiently, “Have lunch first, then take the painkiller. Take a break during your lunch break. And I’ll pick you up after work. And, remember to send me a message if you have anything, got it?”
“Got it.” Giselle’s beautiful and meticulous eyes became foggy, and she dragged his clothes and said, “Thank you.”
Hymes smiled in a low tone, “You don’t have to be so polite to your husband.”
“Okay…” Giselle shyly lowered her head.
“Well, I guess I should go.”
Hymes came and left quickly. Until he left, Giselle hadn’t fully come back to her sense.
The colleagues around had already exclaimed enviously, “Giselle, what a nice guy your husband is! If I can meet such a man in my life, then it will be worth it. It will be really worth it!”
“He’s so handsome… Giselle, your husband is indeed a Mr. Perfect. Does he have any shortcomings?”
“The most important thing is that he looks so masculine, and he smiles so gently that he almost drowns people in his eyes…”
“Enough, enough. You’ve made Giselle blush!”
Giselle pursed her lips and smiled secretly.
She didn’t blush, but she was emotional. She didn’t expect to meet a man who was in every way agreeable to her, and who was so sincere and doting to her.
In the office, Jenny patted Mickey’s face, “You see. Her husband is handsome and has a perfect figure, and he treats her so well.
“Such a man… Do you think Giselle might like anyone else after she’s married to him?”
“What are you talking about?” Mickey frowned, “Didn’t I tell you that I have nothing to do with Giselle.”
“Don’t try t
ytodie to me! Did you really get over her when you broke up with Giselle?”
“What are you trying to say? Since we are together, you don’t have to care…”
Jenny suddenly changed her attitude, leaned into Mickey’s arms, hooked his neck, and said coquettishly. “Now only I will love you wholeheartedly, and everything I have belongs to you… But what about Giselle?”
Jenny exhaled gently, “Giselle had already been with the other man, and if you still love her at this moment, what you can have is just a woman who was owned by the other.
“Giselle won’t love you anymore, so please, open your heart to me, will you? Let’s be together and get married as soon as possible…”
Mickey put one arm around Jenny, hugged her in his arms, and said perfunctorily, “Of course, I will. You are my darling…”
But the scene he saw earlier flashed in his heart, and he still felt a dull pain, and there was even an irresistible regret, growing in his heart….
Not sure whether it was the painkiller that had an effect or psychological reasons, Giselle no longer felt as unwell as before, and Hymes came to pick her up on time when she got off work.
Giselle was originally full of joy, but before she got in Hymes‘ car, someone called her name behind her.
Giselle frowned and looked over, and saw Mickey striding towards her.
That look in a trance was full of affection, the same as the time when he was wooing her in the past.
“Giselle, take a good rest at home on the weekend, and you will be busy next Monday.”
“Thank you for your concern, Mr. Blake. And I know that.”
“That’s good.” Mickey didn’t say anything else today, but that look just reminded Giselle of many unpleasant experiences.
What on earth was he trying to do?
He was not happy with Jenny now, so he wanted to get back together with Giselle?
Or did he also fancy Giselle’s so–called mysterious background and want to take advantage of her resources?
But either reason would only make Giselle sick.
Giselle ignored what he wanted to say next, turned around, and got into the car.
The cold gaze of the man in the cab was withdrawn from Mickey’s face, and Mickey felt fear in his heart for a moment.
It was like being in an ice cellar.
He shuddered and told himself that there was no need to be afraid of an insurance seller!
What he wanted to do had always been successful, and no one could stop him!
Giselle got in the car and urged, “Let’s go quickly and ignore that person.”
Hymes sneered and stared at Mickey with aggression.
While Mickey was watching, Hymes moved closer and kissed Giselle.
Giselle felt the softness on her lips, and pushed him shyly, “What are you doing?”
“Of course I was…” His voice was hoarse and sexy, “Showing a nuisance who you belong to now.”
His eyes were as deep as ever as if Giselle’s soul would be sucked into it in the next second.
Fortunately, he quickly distanced himself and drove the car away, leaving only Mickey standing at the door with eyes full of jealousy and regret.
Hymes glanced at Mickey in the rearview mirror calmly, and his smile became even clearer.
He should thank Mickey for his ungratefulness and blindness, otherwise, how could he be held in Giselle’s arms and become hers?
And now… No one could take her away from him.
