🐺Kody🐺

I am sitting on the deck thinking about how I still don’t have any of my memories back. Sadie and Tessa both tell me it’s for the best. I really wish I could believe that. I believe they care about me a lot so all I can really do is take their word for it.

“Kody?”

“Yeah Sades, what’s up?”

“I got word that Alester and Kylah are on their way here.” she says excitedly.

“Ok”.

I’m not really sure what to say to that. I don’t remember him.

“Sadie, Alester is coming home!” Luna Tracy comes outside excited that her oldest son is on his way home.

“Yes he is, we were just talking about it.” she smiles.

“I am so happy, the twins will be here soon and now their big brother will be here to meet them.” she cries.

She is very emotional, it’s understandable. I was very confused as to why she always cried around me, then Sadie told me that pregnancy really takes a toll on women’s hormones which control our emotional reaction to things.

“Tacy.” a small voice calls from the door.

“Hewwo Tacy.” another small voice says right after.

“Hello Mia, Hello Tia, how are you doing?” Tracy asks them.

“There you are darling.” Alpha Zane follows after the girls, “Hi Kody, Sadie, how are you?”

“We’re good.” I lie, I’m freaking the hell out.

“If you’ll excuse us Alpha and Luna we have to get ready for Alester’s arrival.” Sadie says.

“Of course, Mia, Tia could I take Tracy to her doctor’s appointment now?”

“Otay.” Mia says.

“Bye-Bye!” Tia yells after them.

Alpha Zane is going to be a wonderful father. I don’t quite understand why he’s not a father already. If I remember correctly Sadie said he lost his mate when they were both very young, perhaps that happened before they really got that chance?

Sadie heads towards her room and I follow since I’m not sure what to do with myself. I am still freaking out. I thought I would have more time.

"We can go for a run." Cage says.

"That sounds wonderful“.

I turn around and head outside towards the trees. I strip down and let Cage do his thing. Sadie links me a few times but I don’t want to talk right now, I really just need some space.

“Little Luna.” I shake her gently, “little Luuuuna, wake up”.

“No, I’m tired.” she says sleepily.

“I suppose I can leave you here but I’m sure Kody would like to meet both of us”.

That got her attention. She opens the door and tries to exit the car before she unbuckles her seatbelt.

“Don’t you dare laugh.” she says sternly.

“I’m trying but that was pretty funny”.

We walk towards the door and see my mother and Sadie sitting on the porch talking. It must be a fascinating conversation since I haven’t been acknowledged yet.

Brandon runs up, “Oh hey, welcome back.” he says.

“Thanks, what’s up with them?” I ask

“Oh... well uh... Kody kind of ran off an hour ago and he isn’t responding to anyone.” he says.

“Is he ok, why aren’t you looking for him, what if he tried to hurt himself again?”

“Whoa, calm down. Kody is fine, he is just feeling a bit overwhelmed and just needs time to come around”.

“If you are wrong you’re in trouble.” I say in a threatening tone.

“I’m not wrong”.

“Alester welcome home. I have a surprise for you and your mates.” Alpha Zane says when he comes outside.

“Alpha Zane, thanks it’s good to be home unfortunately I have bad news”.

Zane and I chat for a few moments before my beautiful Luna reminds me that I haven’t introduced her to anyone.

“Alpha, this is Kylah, mine and Kody’s mate”.

“Kylah, it is a pleasure to meet you.” he says, shaking her hand.

“The pleasure is all mine”.

“Alester!” my mother yells when she finally notices me.

“Hi mom, how are the twins?” I ask.

“They are very active, I’m so glad you’re home.” she tears up.

I smile and hug her, “I am too” .

“Is there any chance we could meet in half an hour? I have news but I want to go find Kody first”.

“Absolutely darling, this must be Kylah, it’s wonderful to meet you”.

“It’s nice to meet you too, Luna.” Kylah says.

Mother then chooses to argue with Kylah about calling her Mom or Tracy. I take Kylah aside and tell her that I am sorry but I need to go after Kody but I need to do it on my own and ask her to stay with everyone else.

I give her a quick kiss and head inside. I ran to his room but he hasn’t snuck back in since I arrived. I catch his scent and follow it outside. He didn’t go very far. I see a wolf lying in the shade. He’s got pitch black fur like Lex. I never had any doubt about Kody being an Alpha but to actually see him is incredible. He’s beautiful.

I shift back and throw on some shorts I find hidden in one of the many hiding places around the pack lands.

“Kody?” his wolf startles and looks over at me.

“I won’t hurt you, I’m just here because I wanted to see with my own eye’s that you’re ok.” I slowly walk closer to him. “May I pet you?” I ask.

His wolf whines and nudges my leg.

“You’re so soft”.

I pet him for a few minutes before I hear Kody’s voice in my head.

"Alester?”

"Little wolf... I have missed you so much. I’m so fucking sorry I wasn’t here for you“.

"I... I don’t remember you." he sounds so dejected.

"I think that I remember you calling me little wolf though”.

"I said it to you a lot while you were in the coma, I also linked you all the time“.

He shifts back.

“May I hold you?” I ask.

“Ok?”

He climbs onto my lap and I hold him close to me. Feeling his warm skin against mine is like... it’s like being home.

“Why did you run off? Sadie was so worried”.

“This all just feels like it’s moving so fast.” he whispers.

“I’m sorry, I never even thought of that. You did just wake up and I have to be honest, if my father hadn’t escaped from the cells I wouldn’t be back yet. I had to come back because BlueMoon is in danger”.

Kody snuggles closer to me and I rake my fingers through his hair.

“I really fucking missed feeling your body against mine. I love you little wolf, so fucking much”.

I look down at him when he doesn’t say anything and realize that he has fallen asleep. My poor mate. I do not want to wake him so I linked everyone else and told them that we would have to push the meeting. Then I link our beautiful little Luna and tell her how to find us.

Kylah shifts before the tree I told her about that has the clothes. She grabs an oversized shirt and pulls it on over her head.

“Wow, he is even more handsome than I imagined.” she says, a bit surprised.

“He is perfect”.

“You both are.” she says.

She sits beside us on the side of my free shoulder and rests her head on it.

“Alester he’s so beautiful, how did you not run back to him immediately?” she asks.

“I couldn’t leave you there with them, even with Marcus there to look after you. I needed to bring you home to him”.

Kody stirs but he doesn’t wake. Kylah rakes her fingers through his hair the same way I do and kisses his forehead and then mumbles something to him.

“There is a blanket in one of the trees near the clothing tree.”

I tell her because I’m not sure how comfortable he would be with her seeing him like this.

She shakes out the blanket on her way back over to us and then covers us both before she snuggles into me and falls asleep against my side. Forty minutes later Kody starts waking up. He notices Kylah and jumps.

“Shh my sweet little wolf, it’s just Kylah”.

“She’s so beautiful”.

“She said the same thing about you.” I whisper to him, “do you think that it would be ok if we go back to the pack house now? I have to meet with everyone”.

Kody nods, shifts back to his wolf and runs back towards the house. I wake Kylah and we strip back down and leave the clothes and the blanket in the trees before we head back.

"I just need fifteen more minutes to get everything sorted and then I will be ready to meet you. Sorry for the delay." I link the important pack members.

I head up to mine and Kody’s room and knock on the door before opening it. Kody is just pulling on a pair of sweats.

“You scared me,” he says.

“Sorry. I just wanted to ask if you want Kylah and I to sleep in a guest room or with you”.

“Could you... could you maybe sleep in a guest room for now?” he asks quietly, probably thinking I’ll be mad.

“Anything you need, Little Wolf, anything at all”.

I head out to the car to grab mine and Kylah’s things and head towards the guest rooms when Alpha Zane stops me. He tell me that when he found out about Kody and I having a second mate he had three of the empty rooms on the third floor renovated into a suite for the three of us.

Zane takes Kylah and I up to our suite and shows us around. It’s got a very large master suite with a large ensuite bathroom, a small kitchen and dining space with a comfortable living room and two smaller bedrooms.

The bedroom furniture matches the living room set. The bedroom has grey wood furniture, dark hardwood floors and a beautiful black and grey comforter and all the matching pillows my mother could find.

The living room, dining and bedrooms all have the same dark hardwood floors. The bathrooms had beautiful black tile heated floors. with forest green accents.

The living room has a bug plush grey floral rug, a big black leather couch and loveseat, a huge tv and some teal pillows.

“Wow you didn’t have to do all this.” I said to him.

“Your mother and I want you, Kody and Kylah to be comfortable. I also want to keep my suite. I had it built for raising a family and I haven’t had a chance to do that yet but I will thanks to your wonderful mother.” he says in a dreamy tone.

"Little wolf, if you need me I’m in the new suite on the third floor”.

“Thanks for telling me“.

"It’s your suite too, when you’re ready." I linked him back before heading to the meeting I called.

“Thanks for joining me so quickly, I won’t waste any of your time.” I sigh, “Les has escaped and his goal now is to kill me and everyone that I love. Lucky for us we have a secret weapon and he no longer has spies in our old pack”.

“How?” my mother asks me.

“Do you know about the witch he knew before you met?” I ask her.

“Of course, although now that I know him better I am sure that the relationship wasn’t at all how he let on.” she says with anger in her voice.

“It probably wasn’t. He got her pregnant and tried to force her to get an abortion. She didn’t and I have a half-sister named Danika, Dani is our secret weapon”.

“She had a child?” she sobs, “Alester, he killed that witch when you were nine”.

She cries realizing that Dani had been left alone because of Les.

“Dani was barely twelve years old and she really was alone. No packs would accept her and her coven left her behind and somehow despite all that she is a selfless and strong being. The Goddess told me all about how she has helped wolves escape dangerous situations for nothing in return.” I say passionately.

“Alester if I had known about her I would have helped her”.

“I know. I’d like for us to take her in, she’s my blood and I want her around”.

“You’ll have no objection from me, this is going to be your pack.” Zane says.

Brandon chimes in a moment later, “So what’s the plan?”

“Right, sorry. I have handed over Blood Moon to Alpha Talon’s twin brother’s and they will be sending warriors to help us out in three days. Alpha’s Alan and Talon will also be sending warriors from their packs in Arizona and Alpha’s Jacob in Montana will also be sending some warriors to help. I have Kenji working on adding the wolfsbane antidote to the water supply and making some explosives.

Once Dani arrives I will have her ward the pack house. Anyone not able to fight will be shipped off to Blood Moon. Oh and before I forget, nobody is to kill Les but Dani. She deserves to get her revenge”.

Sadie takes over saying that once the warriors arrive from Blood Moon she will organize them with our patrols and that we don’t miss anyone possibly trying to sneak in. She says that Brandon, Kody and herself will hide the explosives around the woods not too far from the pack house.

Brandon asks if we have an idea of how many followers Les has and I honestly couldn’t tell him an exact number. I told him about two-hundred with another one-hundred- fifty in the cells at Blood Moon.

“I want Blood Moon and Blue Moon warriors on the front lines. I don’t want to risk the others’ lives if we don’t have to. They will protect the pack house and be our back up should we fail. We shouldn’t since we outnumber them three to one, unless he’s somehow got someone helping him. We should get the hackers on this”.

“I already have them looking for him.” Brandon tells me.

“Excellent, thank you”.

I turn to Alpha Zane, “In two days I need you to take my mother and Sadie to Blood Moon with the rest of the wolves that can’t fight”.

“No way, I’m staying here.” Sadie interjects.

“Sadie, you are going. You will not risk our cub.” Brandon tells her immediately.

She snarls at him but sighs and gives in to him. I ask Zane if he can please handle getting the wolves together that will be leaving and he responds by telling me he will do anything I need him to do. I then ask him to get everyone to put their most valuable possessions in the bomb shelter under the pack house.

I know he wants the house to survive the battle but I am having Kenji plant explosives on the off chance we lost this battle. I don’t want Les surviving this.

“Alright, we have less than three days to get prepared. It’s getting late now so we need to get some rest while we still can, Alpha could you please call a meeting with the rest of the pack tomorrow morning so they can prepare.

“We will Alester, go rest now.” my mother says before she ushers everyone out of the office.

When I finally get upstairs Kylah is asleep on the couch, I smile at her and go open the door to our bedroom. I step inside and see the most beautiful thing in the world. Kody has decided to join us tonight. He passed out in the middle of our bed.

I pick up Kylah, lay her next to him and in the time it takes me to crawl to the other side Kylah has one arm around him and has him pressed firmly against her. I quickly snap a picture of them before I get comfortable and wrap my arm around them, my sweet little wolf safe between us.
