His Ex-wife’s Comeback ( Nancy and Liam )

Chapter 5

Chapter 5 The End

The previously sunny sky suddenly darkened, and a gust of wind swept through, lifting Nancy’s white clothes and black hair. With her chilling voice, she appeared like a ghost. “Ah!” Cerci, overwhelmed with guilt, covered her ears and screamed, pushing away the two people behind her as she stumbled inside. Meanwhile, Joshua was already terrified, staring at Nancy in a daze. “I didn’t harm you; please don’t come after me.” In a state of panic and fear, he grabbed a nearby pebble and threw it at Nancy. Nancy caught it accurately with her hand. She narrowed her eyes and threw it directly at Joshua’s head! “Ah!” Everyone was screaming. The other two individuals standing at the door watched as blood flowed from Joshua’s head. Almost losing their balance in shock, they desperately retreated. Joshua held his head, feeling as if his skull was about to crack. He reached out and touched it, only to find his hand covered in blood. A pair of black high heels slowly approached him. In a panic, he lifted his head and met Nancy’s cold gaze. Finally, he regained his senses. “You’re not dead… You’re still alive.” Nancy stood tall in front of him, looking down at this man who had once pursued her with great enthusiasm but later grew to hate her out of self-interest and wanted to destroy her with his own hands. “Joshua.” After three years, she called out his name again. “I regret to inform you that your good days are over.” Three years ago, it was him and Cerci who conspired to deceive her into hiking the mountain. They wanted to push her off the cliff and make it look like an accident. Of course, she didn’t die, but that didn’t mean they were innocent. The sins they committed would eventually catch up with them. She would settle these scores with them one by one. On this day, chaos reigned in the rose garden. As soon as Nancy returned, she wasted no time and sent a contractor to clear out her parents’ and her own rooms. As for David and Cerci’s belongings, they were all thrown out! “Ah, my jewelry, my clothes, my handbags—what are you doing?!” Cerci’s beloved treasures were thrown away by the contractors like garbage; she was devastated. She pointed at Nancy with anger and said, “Are you crazy? I’ve been living here for three years!” Nancy sat on the sofa, casually flipping through the current personnel list of the Smith residence, not even bothering to give a glance to her cousin, whom she had once pampered. “My room has been occupied by you for three years; no wonder it’s full of trash.” She turned to the contractors and said, “Be thorough; don’t leave any garbage behind. If anything is damaged, you don’t have to compensate; I just want it clean.” “Okay, no problem,” the contractors said without hesitation. In their eyes, those designer bags were no different from grocery bags, so they threw them all into a sack and tossed them out. Cerci was about to lose control. “Ah, keep your dirty hands away! Don’t touch my bags!” She wanted to attack Nancy, but Nancy grew impatient. She directly pulled down the bed curtain and covered Cerci. She tied her to a chair and stuffed a sock in her mouth. She could finally find some peace of mind. After spending the whole afternoon, she finally restored her parents’ room to its original state. Nancy paid the contractors before they left. When David came back and saw his collection of antique jade artifacts thrown in the hallway, his heart skipped a beat. He almost cried out, “Oh my goodness, how did they end up here? Who did this?” Just as Cerci was freed from her restraints, she rushed into her father’s embrace, tears streaming down her face. She pointed at Nancy, accusing her, “Dad, it was her! She threw all our belongings out!” David glared at Nancy with hostility. “Nancy, what are you doing?” “I’m helping you move,” Nancy replied. Nancy stood lazily on the staircase, crossing her arms and glancing at them with indifference. “Uncle, this house is my father’s private property. Are you really trying to compete with me for it? If this gets out, it could damage your reputation.” David couldn’t help but clench his teeth. He was the one who first set his sights on the Rose Garden, but he didn’t have enough funds. He had long desired this estate and couldn’t wait to move in after Nancy’s death. He forced a smile and said, “Nancy, we are family, so we should be able to speak openly. I am now the chairman of the Smith Group, and besides, I have grown accustomed to living in this Rose Garden.” “Habits can be changed.” Nancy interrupted him directly, maintaining a calm expression and steady tone. “The chairman can also be replaced. Uncle, if you want to retire early, I can make arrangements.”
