Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier)

Chapter 349

The car engine was barbed off. The car inside was shrouded in darkness. A large evergreen tree had blo

The car plate glinted faintly, revealing numbers Lily knew all too well

What was Xavier doing here?

the streetlight.

She immediately decided to leave before the question formed in her head. It didn't matter to her why he had come! Yet, she collided with what felt like a solid wall of muscle as she turned to walk away

Xavier stood a head taller than her. She walked straight into his chest when she walked away with her head down.

Lily stumbled a few steps back. Her slippers tell off as she landed barefoot on the cold ground. The cake in her hands had even Gown out of her grip

The white swan cake shattered on the pavement. Only the small decorative lights adorning it continued to blink.

The more it blinked, the more the mess stood out. It was utterly ruined. She looked up at the culprit

Xavier was staring at the cake How ugly. It was uglier than the fondant tiger cake Lily had made the night she had asked for a divorce. That tiger was ugly too. He would never understand her fondness for such things. "You owe me a cake now!" Ly's good mood vanished in an instant.

She had planned it all out. She would light the candles at midnight, sing herself a birthday song, and make a wish.

It was all gone now. The cake was shattered! Wasn't she allowed to dream now even if birthday wishes didn't always come true?

Xaner had no idea it was her birthday. He simply found the situation amusing. "It's just a cake is it worth this much fuss? Or is it because Terence bought it?

His cool voice carried on the wind and reached her ears. It sobered her up slightly even though she was angry.

How would she expect Xater to buy her another cake? She might as well dream on! She wouldn't accept even if he offered to.

She crouched on the ground and set the cake box upright before picking up the pieces that weren't dirty and placing them gently back inside. Her hands were smeared with cream and bits of chocolate. The blinking lights on the cake continued to twinkle as a faint melody began to play. It was a birthday song

The sound was soft, yet it rang out in the stillness of the night and reached Xavier's ears.

A flicker of surprise crossed his face. "It's your birthday today?"

"It's none of your business." Lily didn't look up. She tidied up the mess before picking up the scattered debris and tossing it into the trash.

She took a napkin from her pocket to wipe her hands when she was done

The cream came off easily, but her hands still felt greasy. Her brows furrowed as she pondered what to do next before her wrist tightened and was caught in the grip of his slender and clean hand Xavier bent down and picked up the cake box she had painstakingly salvaged before dumping it into the trash while holding her wrist.

"What are you doing? His actions were always beyond her expectations whenever he showed up.

Lily tried to struggle off his grip. However, she couldn't shake him off no matter how hard she tried.

"Didn't you ask me to buy you another cake? Xavier pulled her toward the Maybach parked at the end of the street. "I'll take you to buy another one right now."

Lily resisted, but she was no match in front of him. It was hard for her to move in the slippers. She was forcibly dragged along and shoved into the car. He leaned in to fasten her seatbelt.

She was so furious that she grabbed his shirt, smearing the mess on her hands all over it. "Let me out!"

The faint smell of cream, which Xaster wasn't particularly fond of reached his nose. He glanced down and noticed the white smudges staining his black shirt.

"Lily!" He growled her name through clenched teeth and pried her hand oft him before slamming the door and walking around to the driver's seat.
