Chapter 15 Celia’s Mysterious Identity
“Yes, the entire venue has been chartered for today. Even if you made a reservation, we had to cancel it,” the waiter explained.
“In regards to that, Mr. Smith, you may refer to the restaurant’s VIP rules. Whenever there is an important guest, all reservations are automatically canceled and fully refunded. While it may seem unreasonable, it is a rule of our restaurant that we have to adhere to. We apologize for any inconvenience caused,” the waiter added.
Although the rule seemed unreasonable, it existed for many years and wast well–known among Dean & Ken Restaurant’s guests. Many people were unhappy about it, but it also contributed to the restaurant’s unique and exceptional reputation, attracting even more customers.
Rumors had it that the restaurant manager was a strong and feared figure in r. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so conceited to adopt this rule. However, these were merely speculations and had not been confirmed.
Despite the rumors, that so–called important visitor had never shown up, and no one had ever had their reservation canceled. Therefore, many thought it was just a clever marketing ploy.
Jeff was embarrassed because he was caught off guard by this unusual occurrence. today. Hesitatingly, he asked, “Is there any possibility of making a small. exception? I have already chartered the entire venue and I am already here.”
The waiter maintained a polite smile and responded, ‘I;m sorry, but I am unable to fulfill your request. If you are dissatisfied about his, our restaurant will provide. you with compensation.”
The waiter’s tone indicated that there was no room for negotiation, regardless of the circumstances.
Jeff clenched his teeth and pointed towards the man behind him, speaking in a lowered, threatening voice, “Be careful! This gentleman here is Mr. Dawson! How dare you neglect him? Aren’t you guys afraid you’ll go out of business one day?”
The waiter maintained his smile and showed no signs of fear.
Dominic glanced at the front of the restaurant and had no interest in entering. However, the intriguing rule and the presence of an important guest piqued his curiosity.

Suddenly, a child’s voice echoed through the restaurant. “Sir, long time no see!”
A little girl, wearing leather shoes bounced around energetically and approached him, reaching out to hug his leg and nuzzling her face against it.
“Have you missed Tammy?” the girl asked.
Dominic looked down at the cute
young girl.
The waiter, who had been polite just moments earlier, immediately and warily regarded the men before Dominic could say anything. Returning to Tammy, the waiter’s expression softened as he pleaded, “Please don’t run around, young lady. Please go back to your mom!”
The way he treated the men and this little girl was very different.
Jeff expressed astonishment, “Who is this little princess? I’ve never seen her before. Is she the restaurant manager’s daughter?”
He was curious as he had never seen this girl before.
The waiter casually replied and tried to take Tammy away, but she clung tightly to Dominic’s leg, insisting. “No! It’s been so hard for me to see this gentleman again. I don’t want to go! Sir, will you have dinner with me?”
Although initially uninterested, Dominic’s patience with the children and the girl’s beautiful eyes persuaded him to change his mind. “Okay.”
The little girl beamed with joy, and Dominic’s curiosity about her family grew.
“But we can’t seem to get in there…” Jeff whispered.
“Mr. Dawson, haven’t you noticed that this restaurant is decidedly reluctant to receive customers today?” Jeff thought to himself.
Jeff didn’t have a problem with being turned away, but he thought Dominic had to go in. Otherwise, if Dominic got angry, Jeff was worried about whether or not their cooperation would be affected.
Jeff tried to speak up, but the waitress preempted him and politely refused, “Miss, you cannot do that. Your mother will be upset if she finds out.”
Tammy pouted, “But I already promised this gentleman that I would have
dinner with him.”
“Well…” the waiter hesitated, caught between a rock and a hard place.
Dominic glanced at the waiter and stated coldly, “I intend to purchase this

restaurant.
His tone was resolute and composed, not allowing for refusal. Indeed, he was qualified to make such a statement.
However, the waiter sneered upon hearing this, “Mr. Dawson, can you afford to buy this restaurant?”
Dominic’s gaze sparked with coldness. As a powerful individual, he was intrigued. by things that challenged his authority and even harbored a desire for conquest.
“Bring the manager here,” he said coldly.
Jeff whispered, “Mr. Dawson, maybe we should just let it go and have a meal elsewhere.”
“I want to see who dares to keep me out,” Dominic declared. He had never been rejected in his whole life, and he thought today would be no exception.
Tammy blinked her large eyes, feeling somewhat bewildered yet excited, “Are you here to meet my mom? I’ll go get her so she can meet you right away.”
After uttering those words, Tammy happily dashed into the restaurant.
Celia was still sipping her tea at this moment. The restaurant’s design style suited her taste, providing a calm space for her to relax.
Six
x years ago, before her divorce, she used to frequent this place alone whenever she was feeling down. During that time, she established a peculiar rule to avoid any disturbances.
“Mom! There’s a gentleman waiting outside who wants to see you!” Tammy rushed back and said.
Celia showed little interest, “Oh.”
The little girl leaned over the table and peered out, blinking innocently, “Mommy, it’s that gentleman you saw last time.”
“Oh.”
Tammy had talked to numerous gentlemen before, and it had become a blur in Celia’s memory.
While some of the men they encountered abroad, it was not uncommon for them to cross paths again upon their return home.
Celia truly didn’t feel like getting up.

Excitedly, Tammy suggested, “Well, how about I bring that gentleman inside the restaurant?”
“Go ahead, but don’t bring him here to annoy me.”
Celia secretly hoped the man wasn’t Dominic. He was already a nuisance to her. If he discovered she had a child, he would be an even bigger burden.
Celia believed that if Dominic found out she had a child, he would likely delve into who the father was. Given that Tammy and his son were similar in age, Celia thought he might suspect a past connection.
However, Celia didn’t think it could be Dominic, as he was usually reluctant to
talk to children.
Just as she had this thought, she spotted a familiar figure not too far away. Celia’s heart skipped a beat as she recognized Dominic. In response, she quickly hid
under the table.
“Speak of the devil, he’s here!” she thought.
“Hmm? Where did my mom go? She was just here a moment ago.” Tammy asked suspicion in her voice.
Celia immediately regretted letting Tammy bring that guy in, but it was too late. Fortunately, the long tablecloth concealed her hiding spot.
Footsteps approached, and a pair of shiny patent leather shoes appeared in front of her. Celia instantly recognized the shoes as Dominic’s preferred brand, and she held her breath for a moment.
“It’s so weird! Why is mom suddenly gone?” Tammy said in confusion.
Dominic speculated while observing the snacks and unfinished black tea on the table. “She probably had something to do and left for a little while.” He elaborated.
Tammy nodded in understanding. “Then I’ll go find her!”
“You don’t have to find her. Sorry, but I have to leave now,” Dominic replied.
His associates were waiting nearby as they still had unfinished business to discuss. Upon hearing this, Celia felt a sense of relief and made a mental note to pay closer attention to her daughter’s words in the future.
As the sound of footsteps faded into the distance, Celia was about to stand up when she was startled by the tablecloth being lifted and unexpectedly locking

“Celia?”
