Chapter 91
Chapter 91
“Did the phone make you angry?” Tristan appeared at the door, wearing a white coat and a mask, only revealing a pair of beautiful eyebrows and eyes, looking cool and
handsome.
I wasn’t so angry when I saw him. I calmly put my phone down gently and said, “No, I’m just stretching.”
Tristan hummed softly, clearly not believing my explanation.
He walked in and glanced at a pile of nutritional supplements on the counter. He examined these supplements and found many precious supplements among them. When he saw the vodka, he frowned. “From Greta?”
Apart from Greta, Tristan could hardly think of anyone else who would give vodka as a supplement to others.
I never bothered to check what these supplements were, and I didn’t dare to turn my head too much, so I could only nod perfunctorily. “Yes, it’s her!”
Tristan wordlessly set down the gift box and then asked, “How did you get injured?”
This was the third time I explained the process of getting injured.
But I explained it in more detail to Tristan, for example, Emilia lived near the Gemini Chemical Co., and Sam, the man negotiating with Frederic, was Emilia’s father.
“Did you think it was because Emilia had approached Frederic that he went to negotiate in person today?” Tristan asked again.
“Ah, otherwise what?” I asked in response. “Don’t you think this is a great opportunity for Frederic to make Emilia fall for him? He’s the one setting the trap and he’s also the one breaking it. If I were Emilia, I would be completely enchanted by him!”
This is true. If I were Emilia, I wouldn’t be able to resist a wealthy and handsome man who would spend a lot of money on me, give his all for me, and even be willing to divorce his wife for the sake of our relationship. As long as I’m not a fool, I would definitely agree to be with him.
Every time Tristan saw the look of resignation on my face towards Frederic, there would be a hint of confusion in his eyes, but it quickly vanished.
“You’re not Emilia,” he suddenly bent down and poked the bandage on my head with his finger, somewhat admiringly. “Not bad. You look so thin, like malnourished, didn’t expect you could withstand such a blow.”
“What?” I didn’t understand what it meant.
“Most people experience some common symptoms when they have a moderate concussion, such as dizziness, vomiting, and retrograde amnesia. In more severe cases,
there may also be temporary paralysis or seizures. However, you only lost consciousness for a while,” explained Tristan.
I was speechless. Was he here to see if I was really that miserable?
Just as the two of us were chatting, Frederic unexpectedly showed up again. When he saw Tristan chatting with me by
bedside, there was a barely noticeable hint of
my
displeasure on his face.
“You came.” Tristan greeted Frederic calmly when he saw him. “I’ll go busy myself first.”
“Um,” Frederic responded lightly. After Tristan left, Frederic set down the food in his hands. “What did you talk about? Did you talk about your heart condition?”
I didn’t understand his meaning for a moment. “What’s wrong with my heart?”
Then, I saw Frederic’s face darken quickly and his eyes became sharp. “Is your heart okay?”
Oh no, I panicked for a moment. Tristan must have told Frederic that I had some discomfort in my heart and that’s why I discussed my condition with Tristan. He said that to cover up our previous interactions.
“Fortunately, fortunately. I just didn’t get enough rest
before, which occasionally caused some chest pain, so I thought there might be a problem with my heart. I even consulted Dr. Shelton several times!” I quickly lied.
