Finding Lilibeth

Gramps drove everyone to his place with Lex in the front as he couldn't be trusted near Lilibeth. She was to small to be sitting in the front seat. Leo just ignored the girl but she didn't care. She didn't know these people and didn't have to live with them anymore. "My little Beth when we get home I want you to stay with Miss Emma ok?" Gramps asked while glancing in the mirror. Lilibeth was looking at the ground but gave a slight nod of her head in acknowledgment.

Gramps sighed, he knew the twins being around Lilibeth would not be a good thing at all for her. She had come so far and the minute she was back with people who hurt her, she went back into her shell. Leo was watching his sister, he had seen her so differently when she was in the police station and yet now she was back to recoiling into herself. "My little Beth you are safe. I won't let anyone harm you. Trust me" Gramps stated as they were pulling into his driveway.

Lilibeth didn't move at all. She just kept to herself and once the car was turned off she waited for everyone to leave so she could get out and go hide. She didn't like being around Leo and especially not Lex. The minute that Lex could he got out of the car slamming the door which caused Lilibeth to jump in fright and she was thrown back into her old life being hurt by people she was suppose to trust. Her entire body was shaking like a leaf and she was struggling to breathe.

"Aren't you getting out of the car?" Asked Leo when Lilibeth made no attempt to get out of the car at all. He was watching the girl but her body was just shaking. He didn't see her struggling for breath at all. Gramps moved around the car opening Lilibeth's door for her. He reached in to take her hand and she flinched back thinking he was going to hit her. She was trapped in her mind and couldn't make out what was past and what was present. Lilibeth curled into a ball and hid herself under the front seat of the car. She was still struggling to get air into her lungs and was gripping her chest.

Gramps crouched down to see what was happening. "Lilibeth breath for me" Gramps called out. He was trying to reach her but she was under the seat and he couldn't quiet reach her. Leo looked to his Gramps and then to Lilibeth not sure what was happening. Lex was screaming outside the car for Lilibeth to get our of the car so he could go inside the house. "Shut your mouth Lex" Gramps yelled causing Lilibeth to sink further under the front seat making it impossible for Gramps to reach her. "My little Beth breath for me please" Gramps begged the girl. She was going to pass out if she didn't take a breath.

Leo reached under the seat pulling Lilibeth out. She screamed a blood curdling scream which was heard throughout the large house. Miss Emma came flying out of the house to see what was going on. "Shut the fuck up brat. I've got a fucken hang over" Lex screamed. It could barely be heard over Lilibeth screaming.

Leo was shocked but he hadn't let go of Lilibeth. The scream sounded like someone was trying to murder her and Leo couldn't understand why seeing all he did was touch her. He hadn't physically hurt her by getting her out from under the chair. "Let her go Leo now. She is in the middle of a panic attack" Gramps stated taking Lilibeth into his arms. He knew he had messed up by picking up the twins.

Lilibeth was right back to square one now. "What?" Leo asked. "You and your brother glaring at her and being around her has triggered a panic attack. She is stuck in it" Gramps stated bringing Lilibeth into his chest. She was fighting it and trying to get away from Gramps hold while screaming.

Miss Emma watched on not knowing how to help. Lilibeth hadn't ever been this lost in a panic attack at all. "Shut that thing up" Lex screamed. "This is your doing. Glaring at her and then slamming your door and yelling caused this" Gramps stated speaking calmly as not to startle Lilibeth anymore. "She never reacted like this at home" Leo stated looking at Lilibeth thrashing around in Gramps arms. Gramps was sitting on the driveway holding Lilibeth with his hand on her head and back trying to settle her down. "None of you ever noticed her panic attacks Leo. This is her reality and both of you here has upset her" Gramps replied.

It had been an hour since the attack began and Lilibeth was taking small breaths now. She had stopped fighting but every time Gramps tried to get up she would try to run. When Miss Emma tried to come near her she would start screaming again. Lex had stormed inside to attempt to go to bed but was stopped by Miss Emma on the orders of Gramps. Lex was made to help clean the entire house and had been slamming things constantly. Each slam of a door or bang of something Lex touched, would cause Lilibeth to jump and her whole body was still shaking like a leaf.

Leo had sat on the step the entire time watching. He didn't realise the extent of what Lilibeth was going through. He was now witnessing it first hand and felt like utter shit. No child especially not one related to him should have to suffer like she was.

Dj pulled into the drive way seeing his Gramps and Lilibeth sitting on the ground and Leo on the step. He raced out of the car towards his Gramps and sister while glaring at Leo. He heard something slam in the house which caused Lilibeth to flinch again. Dj went to reach for his sister causing her to scream again. "What's going on?" Dj asked pulling Lilibeth into his arms while she was screaming until she went floppy.

Gramps got himself up looking at Lilibeth who was now passed out in Dj's arms. He wasn't sure from what, whether it be lack of oxygen or from exhaustion. "The twins were being held at the police station and they couldn't get hold of your father. I picked them up after Beth got her cast off. It was not my best decision" Gramps said shaking his head. He blamed himself for Lilibeth breaking down. "I'll take her to my room" Dj stated carrying his sister towards the house.

"Is she ok?" Leo asked as Dj was walking past. "Why do you care?" Dj asked walking right past his brother and heading to his room with Lilibeth. He wanted her to open her eyes and see she was safe with him.
