Carlos directly picked up the menu and asked the waiter which cake flavor was sweet. The waiter enthusiastically recommended a few flavors.
In the end. Carlos directly ordered several cakes for Edith.
Edith’s eyes lit up as she asked excitedly. “Did you order these for me? Will you eat with me?”
Carlos was amused. She was obviously worried that he would eat the cakes. He ordered the cakes, but Edith subconsciously thought they were hers.
Carlos could only nod. Seeing this, Edith smiled brightly.
“Uncle, you’re so nice. Your future wife won’t have to worry about food and drink!”
“That’s true for now.”
Carlos said the meaningful words lightly, but Edith didn’t pay attention and couldn’t understand either.
Soon, the cakes were served. Edith ate very quickly and did not look elegant at all. Despite this, Carlos felt that she was very cute. The way Edith ate triggered his appetite, and he could not help tasting one. It was still too sweet, but he didn’t feel as disgusted as before.

Carlos looked displeased as he heard the words.
He wondered, “Am I old?
I’m only 27 this year, seven years older than you. How dare you talk about me like this?
If you find out later that I’m your husband, will you dare to say it again?”
Edith quickly finished eating the cakes. She had drunk too much lemon water and was about to go to the bathroom when Carlos spoke.
“I have something to tell you.”
Edith had just gotten up and asked in confusion, “What are you going to tell me, Uncle?”
“What are you doing?
“I want to go to the bathroom. I drank too much free lemon water… It’s very good with honey.”
Carlos was speechless, thinking she was really a foodie. He then said, “I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to wait for Simon. He won’t come and let me tell you something. Go to the bathroom first and I’ll tell you later.”
He didn’t want to shock the hell out of Edith.
Otherwise, he had to spend time comforting her.
Hearing that Simon was not coming, Edith was a little disappointed but also felt happy. She didn’t show intense mood swings because they were a couple and would meet sooner or later.

However, she was really in a hurry to pee and didn’t have the time to know what Carlos wanted to tell her.
When Edith was washing her hands after using the bathroom, her phone vibrated. Carlos sent her a message.
“I have something to do, so I’ll leave for a while. Wait for me here. If you dare to leave, you’ll know the consequences.”
It could be seen from the message that Carlos was extremely controlling.
Edith couldn’t help curling her lips, thinking he had been used to bossing her around and even sent a message in such a bossy tone.
She returned to her seat and patiently waited for Carlos to come back.
An hour had passed… but he hadn’t returned.
After two hours, Edith still didn’t see him at the door.
Three hours had passed… but he hadn’t showed up.
Edith sat alone by the window in silence, watching the people outside coming and going, hoping that Carlos would be one of
them.
But it disappointed her every time.
She tried to call Carlos but couldn’t get through. Simon didn’t answer her all either. In the end, she had no choice but to call Sam, but he didn’t know where Carlos was.
Edith wondered, “That’s strange. Where did Uncle Carlos go?
He hasn’t paid the bill yet!”
