Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Timothy lowered his head, feeling uneasy and not daring to look at me.
Mia held his arm and tried to defend him.
“How can you blame Timothy? Your grandfather lived long enough, and it was time for him to die! Besides, this grave has no name or engravement on it. Who could have thought it was his?”
I couldn’t bear it anymore, so I freed one hand and slapped her.
“This is to remind you to watch language! Although my grandfather was a senior, he was still in good health. If you hadn’t tricked Timothy into ditching me at the altar and posted your marriage certificate in the group chat, how could my grandfather be so angry?”
Before Mia could come to her senses, I slapped her again.
“This is to teach you how to treat people! Even if this tombstone has no name or engravement, it’s still someone’s grave. How could you dig it up without the consent of his family?”
I gave Mia another quick smack.
“This is for me! I didn’t make you sick, but most of my pain is caused by you! Timothy is just a
scumbag. Take him if you want, but don’t mess with me again. Or I’ll beat you up every time I see you.” I was about to slap Mia some more, but Timothy came to his senses and grabbed my wrist.
“Evie, I am sorry. This is all my fault!
“If you want to vent your anger, just hit me. Mia isn’t well, and she can’t be beaten like that!”
I pulled my hand away, not even wanting to look at him.
“Evie, I’m sorry, but I didn’t mean it…”
He looked guilty, but he was still trying to make excuses to shirk responsibility.
I said expressionlessly, “Timothy, I don’t need your apology! This isn’t over!”
I held the urn and turned to leave.
Mia stared at me in anger. “Timothy, she hit me. Are you gonna let her go just like that?” Timothy waved his hand and signaled the two bodyguards to let me go.
“Mia. We made a mistake. We owe Evie that…”
Mia glared at me and whispered to me,
“Just wait and see!”
I snorted as I passed by her,
“Let’s wait and see!”
