Chapter 18
“Destroyer...I-I don’t...Please wait--” Caroline gasped for air and shot up out of her bed. She held onto her chest and closed her eyes. This time, her dreams were not just dreams. It was filled with one week of being in a room with him. She held her knees to her chest and smiled. It’s not what she fully expected but it was something.
He listened, he agreed, he asked and it was something that was a dream. She looked at her clock and it was seven in the morning. She jumped out of her bed and looked herself in the mirror. She promised herself she was going to find out...which she has promised herself before but those times never really counted.
She took off her bonnet and let her hair fall down to her backside. SHe was promised to go out into the woods, have a nice picnic, even go for a couple of runs. Running was always her most dreamt things to do with him. Even with him when she was a kid. She searched her closet and drawers for a nice, but not a too nice outfit.
She wanted to look especially good for him, but since they were going outside to run she wanted to wear something that wouldn’t scream ‘Take me now’ and wouldn’t make it too obvious.
“Okay...blue ripped jeans, grey t-shirt and a blue jacket...heels? Nah no heels...converses? Too nice...uhm...just sneakers…” She slipped her sneakers on after placing her hair in her ponytail and a bun. She decided not to put on any makeup. But did her eyebrows to make them seemed more filled in.
She heard a knock on her door and raced to it. She took a deep breath and tried to keep herself from smiling.
“Yes?” She opened the door and clenched her jaw in excitement.
“I know it’s only ten, but I think we should start going?” She hadn’t even realized the time. She only spent four hours getting ready. Most of that time spent naked and trying to find something to wear.
“Ah...well yeah. Let me get my jacket?”
“You’re wearing your jacket.” Destroyer spoke and she only started.
’Dumbass.’ She said to herself and closed her door. He had a basket in hand and it got her excited.
“You did this yourself I expect?” She asked and he nodded.
“I did.” She looked at his arm holding onto the basket and just gazed at it like it was the most important part of his body. Her mind going off places it shouldn’t be.
Destroyers arm gently wrapped around Caroline’s body. Her own heat heating his body up and it not affecting him too badly. She gripped onto his hand and felt his mouth on the back of her neck. She shivered lightly and groaned to the touch of his lips and gripped his hand. His hand had been planted on her torso and she was trying hard not to move it down lower.
She couldn’t contain herself and closed her eyes. She moved his hand and with her own fingers lifted up his boxers that she was wearing and placed his hand inside.
“Please? Just this once I promise?” She begged him and he hummed against her.
“Do you want me to? I don’t want to do anything you’ll regret…” She nodded immediately and moved her eggs adjusting herself and moved his hand down more. Her head tilting back and whining.
“Caroline?’ She Jumped out of her memories and shook her head.
“Yes? What...lets go then!” He watched as she walked down the hall to the living room and only smiled.
“Hey, daddy! I’ll be back later.” She saw Archie holding a cookie in his hand and questioning the quick signs of affection.
“Wait where are you going?” He asked and saw Destroyer from the stairs.
“What’s going on?” Destroyer greeted Archie with a smile and placed the basket he so neatly made and watched her walk out.
“Well... I’m going to the woods...with her...alone, for a picnic. You know. Probably going to go on a run that will last a while. For hours.” He said only with a bit of slyness in his tone. He watched as Archies eye twitch gently and all he did was a smirk, showing his favorite canine.
He placed his hand on the back of his shoulder with some force and nodded.
“Anyways, later. Don’t stress!” He stated, picked up his basket and walked away.
“Babe, don’t think too much into it. She’s eighteen, an adult.” Charlie laced her hand onto his shoulder and he gave her a look.
“So?!”
“This seems familiar…” Caroline placed her hands on the back of her head and spun around. She turned and saw that he was laying out the blanket and sat down on it.
“It should be. It was the first time I saw you.” He commented and she smiled going down to him.
Sitting next to him she placed her hand onto his and held it. His hands were soft and loved it when he cupped her face. He moved her face to his and kissed her lips. She couldn’t help but get excited and smile while giving back the affection. He pulled her up on his legs and held her in place. Her hands had been planted on either side of his face and his around her waist.
He knew he couldn’t keep this up for long, it’s not what he wanted to show her. As the kiss seemed to get more heated and stopped her. He was out of breath as she was and she watched as he looked down. Thinking.
“I want you...to know who I am.” SHe didn’t say a word and nodded at him.
“I...can project my emotions and memories to a person, so they can understand who I am. If it would be okay with you I would like to do that. I do..have to say I’ve been...hurt before. I don’t want you to get scared.”
She nodded at his words and took a breath, She knew that this would be hard and accepted all of it. “I do. I don’t want you to hold back because I want to know everything. I want to understand.”
“Thank you..” He placed her hands on the sides of his head and his forehead against her.
“Close your eyes and breathe.” She closed her breath and exhaled sharply. He did so and began.
Everything started in hell. He was born into the slavery of the hounds. Forced to work, forced to mate as his wolf. His beatings seemed real and every one of his screams had made her flinch. She went through every corner of his memory. It was red and full of hate and fire. It all ended when she saw her fathers kind face. The kindness he gave to Destroyer. The love he felt for him.
Then she saw her. The first time he saw Caroline he saw their future in the blink of an eye. The two had shared memories of each other and his doubt-filled most of it but never tore him away from what he felt. Her heart melted as he remembered everything that they had done together.
“My dearest...Destroyer.” Caroline felt a horrible chill down her spine as she heard another woman’s voice. A black haired woman. This woman had a horrible aura and she could feel Destroyer struggling to stay in contact.
“Don’t worry, I’ll show you.” Most of what she was seeing was different from before. She saw it. His first time. His first time with this woman. How he was manipulated the first time he moved to the big apple. After her everything went downhill.
She saw his vulnerability was taken advantage of. He was stripped of his power, held captive in what she could see was some type of basement. The basement then turned to a stage.
“Ladies and gentlemen. A man. A wolf. A hellhound...Look at him. Scars on his body from battle. His body is still the physical peak of the supernatural kind. The bid starts at fifty thousand...he’s still a mine of course so don’t get me wrong…” The dialogue she heard didn’t sound okay. The black-haired woman had him chained in the middle of the stage. Naked, cold and drugged.
Different bids went on and soon he was taken, but still in the care of this woman. Caroline held in her pain as she saw what was done to him. Men, women. Young and old. Supernatural and human.
He was helpless. For four years he was sold, trafficked, had no way of getting away, out. It was another hell. She felt the mental pain of him knowing what was going on with him. His every thought as he was held down when new people came in for a piece of him.
This woman. Clara. She was evil. Even partaking in the activities with her customers. Whenever he wasn’t with another client of hers, he was with her. Tiring him out, using every bit of her power to destroy his mental state.
Then there it was. Each thing he thought of as his pain got worse was her. The future of what Caroline had for him. Her smile, her laugh. Even little traces of childhood memory popped in his head.
Caroline couldn’t take much more of it and tore her hands away from his head. She saw everything from start to beginning and her eyes were giving tears. She had cried for him. She was crying for him.
“I-I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry!” She began to say and placed her hands over her mouth. She saw that he was too. It was his memories and she was hysterical.
“I’ve been so mean not knowing what you’ve been through and...oh my god those people..that woman. She...she raped you...the people they did...they did it over and over and...they hurt you.” She sobbed into his chest. She wrapped her arms around him and held him tight. She had no idea how he recovered or even how he survived.
“I blamed you for everything and I didn’t understand you I’m so sorry. I should have been more understanding.” She placed her hand onto his face and shook her head.
“How could they do that…” She asked him and he shook his head.
“I..i’ve asked me that every day...Klara...the woman. She had powers that took mine away whenever she wanted... I was a her...her show dog. Everywhere she would go I was there. I killed for her...i was used by her in every which means for...four..years. She had others...but it was always me who was picked.” He told her in a hushed tone. She shook her head and grabbed him.
“I’m here...I’m here now and i...would never do that to you. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe...I’ll does whatever it takes to help…”
“Its okay..I’m not completely healed but I have you and I know.” Some time passed and they sat in silence.
“What happened...after?” She asked and he looked away.
“One night...she forgot. She forgot to give me whatever she was giving me because I was...what was happening was content and I was out of it so..i didn’t have any dose of whatever she gave me so I had...my powers regenerated quickly and I had the chance to run. I did.”
“She’s still out there?! You cant--I can’t-”
“No. No, she’s not. She’s not out there and no one from that...place will ever be…” He stopped his words and he pushed his hair back. She saw it in his eyes. He killed them. He killed every last one of them. She couldn’t blame him and held onto him tightly
It wasn’t long before the silence was cleared and they decided to enjoy their makeshift date. She kept an eye on him even though he smiled towards her. He kissed her and held her and made sure she didn’t trigger anything. They stayed out until it got dark and headed back when the moon was full. Walking on she told him to go up first and saw her father. She decided to talk to him.
“Hey, dad.” She looked at him and he worriedly smiled.
“You okay? You seem like you were crying..”
“It’s all good... I just...i now understand why you’ve had so much...respect for him...why he loves you so much and vise versa ad I didn’t understand that till now. Thank you. For believing in him.” She gave him a kiss on his cheek and left. He smiled in approval.
