Chapter 56 Take Care of You
"And then..." Jack asked hesitantly.
Wesley narrowed his eyes, "You do not need to worry about this matter, leave it to Rian."
Jack asked no more about it, "Ms. Jones has left the hospital. She doesn't know that it is Miss Clark who needs the blood transfusion. She and Colin seem to know each other well."
Louisa was the nominal fiancée of Wesley. If she messed up with Colin, there would turn out a trouble till the time.
How could Wesley not understand the meaning of his words? He looked peaceful and looked back at Harriet, said lightly, "Well."
He didn't seem to care about it. Jack had no reason to care it since he reacted like that, so withdrew from the ward.
It became quiet again. Wesley stood up, tucked the corner of the quilt for Harriet, turned around and left the ward.
Harriet woke up a few hours later.
She saw Colin's young handsome face.
"Harriet, you finally woke up!" Colin took her hand happily.
Harriet was just thinking Wesley's back when he was going out with a pistol. Where was him?
Did he get hurt? That gangster was so cruel. No, no. Wesley was such a scourge, and he would never die easily.
Although comforting herself in her heart, her chest seemed to be pressed against a mountain. She felt she was some breathless. She had poor complexion. Colin was worried about her so much and he turned around, running to call the nurse.
There was no way to be at peace for a moment for her.
Harriet put away the quilt and wanted to get out of bed. The door was opened and a tall, slender figure showed up.
"Wesley, you're fine!" Her voice immediately became clearer, clearly mixed with joy.
Wesley had been dealing with some business affairs in the next ward. Hearing Colin's voice outside, he knew she was awake, so he came to see her.
"Yes." He looked straight at her with his deep dark eyes which were hard to be ignored. "Do you feel better?"
Was he worried about her?
Harriet's heartbeat was racing inexplicably, but it was normal for him to care about her as she was hurt because of him...
She lifted her eyelids slightly and looked at him quietly. His face was ruddy. Although there were bandages on his body, he should be fine as he walked freely.
She felt relieved but still asked him, "Is your injury dealt with properly?"
"I am fine." Wesley replied and poured a glass of water for her, handing it to her mouth.
She hadn't drunk water for a long time and her lips were pretty dry.
Harriet froze for a moment, feeling that she was a little flattered.
She stretched her arms and the pain made her frown.
Wesley's eyes got darker when he saw her action. He moved the glass and ordered her, "Have some water."
Harriet pursed her lips and stared at the cup, then opened her mouth mechanically.
Wesley cooperated with her and fed her with water.
"Grumbling..." Then, her stomach made some noise.
Harriet lowered her head with embarrassment. She hadn't eaten much food at noon and she had eaten nothing because of the accident last night. By now, her stomach had been empty. "More water?" His voice seemed to be no different from usual, but if she listened carefully, she could hear a little different gentleness.
Harriet shook her head. There was no food in her stomach. Drinking water would only make her hungrier.
Wesley put the glass down and left the ward without saying anything.
He just left like that?
Harriet felt somehow upset.
Colin called a doctor to check his sister, and happened to see Wesley coming out of the ward, "May I ask who you are?"
This was the first time he met Wesley. He didn't like to watch news and did not know much about business, so he did not know Wesley even if he was famous in the upper class. Wesley opened his mouth and wanted to answer, but he suddenly stopped as he was a little curious about how Harriet would introduce him.
"I am Jack's boss."
"Ah, it's you. I am literally thank you for saving my sister." Jack fabricated a car accident and shaped Wesley into Harriet's life saver.
Wesley did not deny it and shook hand with Colin briefly.
Colin, anxious about Harriet's health, did not talk much, followed the doctor and nurse into the ward.
In the ward, Harriet stared at the door with worrying.
She heard Colin's voice. Wesley had just gone out, they must have met. If Colin asked about her relationship with Wesley, should she tell him?
She was so entangled in her heart that her face was even worse.
After Colin came in, he stood beside the bed and kept looking at the doctor.
"The patient is recovering well, but she must stay on the bed so as not to rip the wound. In addition, she should pay attention to have light good." The doctor told Colin sideways. Harriet also wanted to know about Wesley's injury. She just asked quietly in her heart, but the words came out from her mouth immediately, "Is Boss Smith alright?"
The doctor smiled, "Please do not worry about him as he was just injured slightly."
Harriet finally put away her trepidation with the doctor's answer.
"Harriet, take a good rest, I'll buy you something to eat." Colin also felt relieved and got up.
Wesley returned back, carrying a bag in his hand.
"I bought you some food." After he came in, he put the bag to the table.
Colin helped set up a table, "Thank you."
Wesley glanced at Harriet and said, "My pleasure."
What pleasure! Harriet's eyes flashed anxiously. What the hell was this man doing? Did he want to expose their relationship to her brother?
What would Colin think of her!
"Boss Smith, thank you for your help." Colin said intentionally.
Wesley answered directly, "Well."
Colin looked at them for several times, feeling the atmosphere was strange but he expressed what it was. "Harriet, have some porridge." Colin put the porridge in front of Harriet and helped her raise the bed slightly. Harriet was starving, smelling the tempting rice fragrance and swallowing saliva. She tried to raise her hand. The wound was very close to her arm, and she fell on the ground before. It hurt when she moved her arm. Although she pretended to be fine, she failed to hold back and just frowned.
Colin didn't notice it as he was not a careful man.
Wesley sat directly beside the bed, picked up the spoon, stirred the porridge, scooped the upper layer, and delivered it to Harriet's mouth.
Harriet suddenly became stiff like a wood carving.
What the hell was he doing! Didn't he see Colin looking at him?
"Aren't you hungry?" Wesley raised his eyebrow and stared at her.
Of course, but she was frightened by his abnormal behavior. She did not care whether she was painful or not, raising her hand for catching the spoon.
But Wesley moved faster than her, lowering his voice and saying, "Don't move."
His eyes were full of warnings.
Harriet had to stop her hand, opening her mouth and biting the spoon tightly.
Wesley had to pull out the spoon from her mouth with force.
"Colin, my wound hurts, you come and feed me."
But Colin directly said, "Harriet, my stomach hurt, I want to go to the bathroom."
Then he ran away.
Harriet didn't catch her breath suddenly and choked fiercely, almost choking out the porridge she had just eaten. Wesley kindly gave her a favor, but she opened his hand at once, frowned and asked, "Wesley, what do you mean?"
Wesley raised his eyebrows expressionlessly, scooped another spoonful of porridge and handed it to her mouth, "I am taking care of you." Harriet smiled coldly and directly asked him to leave, "I don't need it, just leave me alone."
