Chapter Hurt
The sun rose on the Chambers of the Council, as people began to stir in the great hall. Keegan walked through the main door, with a large amount of Lacermen following. Ariel noticed him walking in and waved.
"Hey Keegan, hope this isn't an invasion?" She chuckled.
"No, it's okay, Amber explained what is happening, and they pledged themselves to the cause" Keegan smiled, as Amber caught up with him, and the Lacermen headed inside.
"Good, we need all the help we can get" Ariel smiled.
"Did the others arrive? Syl, Atlas and Roisin?" Keegan asked.
"Yeah, they're around here somewhere" Ariel nodded. "Not seen Atlas today though" She shrugged, before sighing.
"What's up?" Keegan asked, as he sat against a table.
"There's some stuff that happened yesterday..." Ariel sighed. "It's not my place to say though" She added.
"Is everyone okay? Roisin, Syl?" Keegan asked.
"Hmm, they're okay physically, if that what you mean. But Roisin has had a bit of a bombshell dropped on her, Syl too... a lot to take in" Ariel explained.
"Do you know where Roisin is, or Syl?" Keegan asked.
"I imagine Roisin is still in her room" Ariel smiled. "You go see her, I'll take care of the paper work with this army you brought us" She winked.
"Thanks Ariel" Keegan smiled, as he hugged her. "It's good to be back with you all" He said, before heading upstairs to the quarters. As he walked down the hallway that seemed a mile long, he quickly came to realize he had forgotten to ask which room Roisin was in.
"This place is gigantic" He said, as he looked backward to see the hallway stretching far into the distance in the opposite direction.
"Well, it was the ancient seat of power for the whole of Crystalla, once" Mizu smiled, as she walked from one of the seating alcoves close by.
"Oh, hey Mizu" Keegan smiled. "I uh... do you know where Roisin's room is?" He asked.
"I don't yet" She sighed. "I wanted to pay her a visit after last night, perhaps talk to her about being a Crystalla, maybe settle her nerves" Mizu frowned.
"Roisin's not a Crystalla though, she's just Roisin" Keegan shrugged.
"Oh" Mizu said as she covered her mouth. "I... uh, I'm sorry, it wasn't my place to say" She sighed.
"I don't understand" Keegan said as he sat down in the seating area. Mizu shook her head and looked Keegan in the eyes.
"I guess it's too late to take back what I said" Mizu rolled her eyes. "Roisin is a Crystalla. Atlas... he arrived here yesterday, furious, he slapped Roisin. He was angry that she wanted to sacrifice herself, and took some white stone from her pocket" She explained.
"Atlas did what?" Keegan asked as he frowned.
"He did later apologize, but, he explained that Roisin had actually died in the past, and been resurrected at the cost of her Uncle... your Uncle Sylvaria's life" Mizu explained. "Before you get mad at Atlas, consider that he's watched nearly everyone he's loved die. I'd probably have lost my temper too, he didn't want to lose Roisin yet again" She continued. Keegan gave an understanding nod.
"Yeah, I can understand that" Keegan sighed. "Where is he?" He asked.
"Atlas? Lotte said he walked out last night, hasn't returned as yet" Mizu replied.
"Damn it..." Keegan sighed.
"You're taking this all better than Syl did" Mizu said, as she patted Keegan on the back.
"I've done worse things than Atlas has, I'm in no place to judge" Keegan said, as he stood up. "How is Syl?" He asked.
"Angry and confused. He took a bottle of whiskey to bed last night, this morning his room was torn apart" Mizu sighed.
"I'll go see him, he still in his room?" Keegan asked.
"Yeah, last I heard, he was" Mizu nodded. "Room 5,432, that's on the fifth floor, North Eastern Wing, quite a trek" She added.
"Thanks Mizu" Keegan smiled, before turning and heading back to the stairwell. Mizu sighed and sat back down, as the noise from the great hall echoed down the long corridors.
