Before long, Bella's bedroom door was gently pushed open. She heard his footsteps stop at the doorway, likely assuming she was already asleep. He quirtly closed the door and left. Bella pulled the blanket aside, staring blankly at the ceiling. So, it was true... Heartache could indeed cause sleepless nights.

The next morning, when she went downstairs, Dominic was already gone. It was as if he hadn't come home at all the night before.

Skipping breakfast, Bella headed to Lia's new studio to help oversee the renovation. Lia had been swamped lately, and since Bella had no plans for the day, she offered her help.

In the afternoon, Dominic called Bella. This time, she answered.

His tone betrayed no hint of noticing her disappointment. He merely informed her they should have dinner together, gave her the address, and hung up. Looking down at her simple outfit and bare face, now smudged with dust from the construction site, Bella couldn't help but think of the glamorous woman always by his side. She didn't feel like going to dinner at all..

As dinner time approached, she texted Dominic, saying she wouldn't be going. After that, she immediately switched off her phone.

Back et Lia's studio, she joined a few of the employees in ordering takeout. Surrounded by people her age and in such a simple setting, she felt more at ease. Unlike when she was with Dominic, where she always felt out of place.

As they laughed and chatted over dinner, Dominic's car suddenly pulled up outside the studio.

Lia nudged Bella's waist with her cutlery, teasing, "Your troublemaker's here. You deal with him because I'm afraid I might lose my temper and yell at him."

Bella glanced out the window, frowning. She couldn't brush off the faint dust stains on her light jeans. She also had no intention of going anywhere with him looking like this.

His sudden appearance caught her off guard.

She remained seated, unwilling to face him. However, he entered the studio himself and asked, "Why is your phone off?"

Upon seeing Dominic, the women in the studio immediately started fangirling over him. They even invited him to join them for dinner.

Bella couldn't take it anymore, so she dragged him outside. "My phone died. Why are you here?"

Seeing her indifferent attitude, Dominic finally realized something was wrong. "Did I make you upset?"

Bella shook her head and replied, "No. You can go. I'll go home later."

Her attitude clearly suggested something was wrong, but Dominie couldn't figure it out. Growing frustrated, he snapped, "Just tell me what's going on! Do you know how annoying it is to have to guess?"

Having bottled up her emotions for too long, Bella couldn't hold back any longer. She raised her voice as she responded, "Did I ask you to guess? Sometimes, pretending not to notice is better, you know? If we talk about everything, it'll just make things worse!" Realizing how much her tone had shifted, Bella quickly calmed down. "Just go. I still have things to do with Lia."

With that, she turned and sat back down, refusing to look at him again.

Dominic didn't say anything else. With a cold expression, he drove away. He wasn't the type to beg for anyone's forgiveness. The place fell silent. Bella pretended nothing had Lia bit her fork, muttering, "It's obviously his fault, but why do I feel so weird now that he has left?"
