Broken 'N' Loved

Darrick POV

When I got done talking to Kelly, I walk out of the room that they gave me and headed to the Alpha apartment, I have to let him know what I have learned from Kelly. When she told me what they have planned, I got so pissed off that I was about to head there myself to get her out of there. I lost my sister once; I will not lose her again. I got to Alpha Michael's apartment, I knocked on the door. When he opened it, he looks like he hasn't slept at all. He looks at me, moves to the side to let me in, "I got more info on Kelly, she is ok. They have her back in the dungeons with a punishment of no food or water for three days. She is down there with a lot of other wolves. Also, she is in the same cell as an unmated male." I look back at him after telling him all that, he is looking at me with shock and anger in his eyes.

He takes a few deep breaths, looks up at me, "How do you know all of this? Do you have someone on the inside?" I shake my head no, "No, she mind-linked me. To tell you the truth I do have friends in that pack but no one in that pack dares to challenge Jack, well except Kelly and Snow that is." He looks at me again, "What do you mean, Kelly and Snow? Do not tell me that she challenged that loon, Jack." I get a slight smile on my face, "Ya, they did. She said that her and Snow are getting more confident the closer to her birthday. That is why she was punished, well that and the fact she ran away in the first place." He nods his head at me, "Ya, females tend to do that when they get closer. We will be heading out soon to go get her. We have to be ready for anything. Oh, before you go, I have a question."

I look at him and tell him to ask me. He looks up at me, "How are you so fast? I am an alpha, and you outran me going to the lake after Kelly was taken." I sigh hard, "I do not like talking about it, but I was supposed to be one of Jack's runners. In Jack's pack, if you are born a male, you are either to be a warrior or a runner. A runner goes and grabs things for Jack, they are made to run fast and be unseen. That is why I told you that I move better at night. I can get in and out of a place without anyone noticing me. When Jack came up with the plan of collecting rare wolves, I refused, and he had me thrown in the dungeons. I was the only wolf of his that can get in and out with being noticed." I shrug my shoulders to push it off. Michael looks at me, nods his head, and pats my shoulder "We will get her back and take revenge on Jack. Trust me." I nod my head and go back to my bedroom. I then mind-link Kelly to see how she is doing. "Kelly, how are you doing?" It takes a few minutes before she answers, "I am doing ok. I cannot sleep at all, so I am keeping an eye on everyone here." I nod my head sadly, "Kelly, you do understand that we might not be able to save them all, right?" It takes her a few minutes for her to answer back but then, "Ya I know, but I would like to save as much as we can. There is a lot of people down here, Darrick. Most of them woman and children." I sigh, "The only way that everyone can get out is if they help with the fight. I mean I know that children cannot help but the rest can. See if you can get them to help when we show up without the guards knowing."

She gives a small sigh, "I'll try, Darrick." I was about to cut the mind-link when I heard her grunt, "Kelly, are you ok?" She is quite for a while, "I think so, but I all of sudden feel hot and there is a sharp pain going through my body." I take a deep breath to calm myself, "Kelly, you are going into heat. I need you to stay as far away from that unmated male as possibly can, ok?" She gives me a small ok and cut the link. Then, I run to get Alpha Michael. We have no more time to wait. We need to move now before it is too late.
